Job 9
1 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಬನು ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಇಂತೆಂದನು
2 ಸತ್ಯವು ಹೀಗೆ ಇರುವದೆಂದು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು. ಆದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ನೀತಿವಂತ ನಾಗುವದು ಹೇಗೆ?
3 ಆತನ ಸಂಗಡ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವಾಡಲು ಅವನು ಇಚ್ಛಿಸುವದಾದರೆ, ಆತನಿಗೆ ಸಾವಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಕ್ಕೂ ಅವನು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡಲಾರನು.
4 ಆತನು ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯೂ ಬಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಕ್ತನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆತನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುವವನು ಯಾರು?
5 ಪರ್ವತಗಳನ್ನು ಅವು ಗಳಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದ ಹಾಗೆ ನೂಕುತ್ತಾನೆ; ತನ್ನ ಸಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
6 ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಅದರ ಸ್ಥಳದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಕದಲಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಅದರ ಸ್ತಂಭಗಳು ನಡುಗುತ್ತವೆ.
7 ಉದಯಿಸದ ಹಾಗೆ ಸೂರ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುದ್ರೆಹಾಕುತ್ತಾನೆ;
8 ಆತನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಆಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಡಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಸಮುದ್ರದ ತೆರೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
9 ಸಪ್ತ ತಾರೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮೃಗಶಿರವನ್ನೂ ವೃಷಭ ರಾಶಿಯನ್ನೂ ದಕ್ಷಿಣದ ಕೋಣೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಿದಾತನು ಆತನೇ.
10 ಆತನು ಕಂಡುಹಿಡಿಯಲಾರದಂಥ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ಲೆಕ್ಕವಿಲ್ಲದಷ್ಟು ಅದ್ಭುತಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
11 ಇಗೋ, ಆತನು ನನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಹಾದುಹೋಗು ತ್ತಾನೆ. ನನಗೆ ಆತನು ಕಾಣುವದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆತನು ದಾಟಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಆತನನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
12 ಇಗೋ, ಆತನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆತನಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಮಾಡುವವರು ಯಾರು? ಆತನನ್ನು--ನೀನು ಏನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳುವ ವರಾರು?
13 ದೇವರು ತನ್ನ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಹಿಂತೆಗೆಯ ದಿದ್ದರೆ ಸೊಕ್ಕಿನ ಸಹಾಯಕರು ಆತನ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಬೊಗ್ಗಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
14 ಆತನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಆತನೊಂದಿಗೆ ತರ್ಕಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಆದುಕೊಳ್ಳು ವದಕ್ಕೂ ನಾನು ಎಷ್ಟು ಮಾತ್ರದವನು;
15 ನಾನು ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡೆನು; ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡುವೆನು.
16 ನಾನು ಕರೆ ಯಲು ಆತನು ನನಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟರೂ ಆತನು ನನ್ನ ಶಬ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ನಂಬಲಾರೆನು.
17 ಆತನು ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿಯಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಚೂರು ಮಾಡು ತ್ತಾನೆ. ನನ್ನ ಗಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾರಣವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸು ತ್ತಾನೆ.
18 ನನ್ನ ಉಸಿರು ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳದಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಕಹಿ ಯಾದವುಗಳಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
19 ಶಕ್ತಿಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಲೋ? ಇಗೋ, ಆತನು ಬಲವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ನ್ಯಾಯದ ವಿಷಯವೋ ವಾದಿ ಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನನಗೆ ಕಾಲವನ್ನು ನಿಯಮಿಸುವವನು ಯಾರು?
20 ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಾನು ನೀತಿವಂತನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಂಡರೆ ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಬಾಯಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಖಂಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ನಾನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ನಾನು ವಕ್ರನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ಅದು ಸಿದ್ಧಾಂತಮಾಡುವದು.
21 ನಾನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ನಾನೇ ಅರಿಯದಿರುವೆನು; ನನ್ನ ಜೀವವನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರ ಮಾಡುವೆನು.
1 Then Job answered and said,
2 I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?
3 If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.
4 He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?
5 Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger.
6 Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.
7 Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.
8 Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.
9 Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.
10 Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.
11 Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.
12 Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou?
13 If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.
14 How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?
15 Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge.
16 If I had called, and he had answered me; yet would I not believe that he had hearkened unto my voice.
17 For he breaketh me with a tempest, and multiplieth my wounds without cause.
18 He will not suffer me to take my breath, but filleth me with bitterness.
19 If I speak of strength, lo, he is strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time to plead?
20 If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.
21 Though I were perfect, yet would I not know my soul: I would despise my life.
Job 9 in Tamil and English
1 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಬನು ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಇಂತೆಂದನು
Then Job answered and said,
2 ಸತ್ಯವು ಹೀಗೆ ಇರುವದೆಂದು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು. ಆದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ನೀತಿವಂತ ನಾಗುವದು ಹೇಗೆ?
I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?
3 ಆತನ ಸಂಗಡ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವಾಡಲು ಅವನು ಇಚ್ಛಿಸುವದಾದರೆ, ಆತನಿಗೆ ಸಾವಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಕ್ಕೂ ಅವನು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡಲಾರನು.
If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.
4 ಆತನು ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯೂ ಬಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಕ್ತನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆತನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುವವನು ಯಾರು?
He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?
5 ಪರ್ವತಗಳನ್ನು ಅವು ಗಳಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದ ಹಾಗೆ ನೂಕುತ್ತಾನೆ; ತನ್ನ ಸಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger.
6 ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಅದರ ಸ್ಥಳದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಕದಲಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಅದರ ಸ್ತಂಭಗಳು ನಡುಗುತ್ತವೆ.

7 ಉದಯಿಸದ ಹಾಗೆ ಸೂರ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುದ್ರೆಹಾಕುತ್ತಾನೆ;
Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.
8 ಆತನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಆಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಡಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಸಮುದ್ರದ ತೆರೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.

10 ಆತನು ಕಂಡುಹಿಡಿಯಲಾರದಂಥ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ಲೆಕ್ಕವಿಲ್ಲದಷ್ಟು ಅದ್ಭುತಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.
11 ಇಗೋ, ಆತನು ನನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಹಾದುಹೋಗು ತ್ತಾನೆ. ನನಗೆ ಆತನು ಕಾಣುವದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆತನು ದಾಟಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಆತನನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.
12 ಇಗೋ, ಆತನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆತನಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಮಾಡುವವರು ಯಾರು? ಆತನನ್ನು--ನೀನು ಏನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳುವ ವರಾರು?
Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou?
13 ದೇವರು ತನ್ನ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಹಿಂತೆಗೆಯ ದಿದ್ದರೆ ಸೊಕ್ಕಿನ ಸಹಾಯಕರು ಆತನ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಬೊಗ್ಗಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.
14 ಆತನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಆತನೊಂದಿಗೆ ತರ್ಕಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಆದುಕೊಳ್ಳು ವದಕ್ಕೂ ನಾನು ಎಷ್ಟು ಮಾತ್ರದವನು;
How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?
15 ನಾನು ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡೆನು; ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡುವೆನು.
Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge.
16 ನಾನು ಕರೆ ಯಲು ಆತನು ನನಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟರೂ ಆತನು ನನ್ನ ಶಬ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ನಂಬಲಾರೆನು.
If I had called, and he had answered me; yet would I not believe that he had hearkened unto my voice.
17 ಆತನು ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿಯಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಚೂರು ಮಾಡು ತ್ತಾನೆ. ನನ್ನ ಗಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾರಣವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸು ತ್ತಾನೆ.
For he breaketh me with a tempest, and multiplieth my wounds without cause.
18 ನನ್ನ ಉಸಿರು ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳದಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಕಹಿ ಯಾದವುಗಳಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
He will not suffer me to take my breath, but filleth me with bitterness.
19 ಶಕ್ತಿಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಲೋ? ಇಗೋ, ಆತನು ಬಲವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ನ್ಯಾಯದ ವಿಷಯವೋ ವಾದಿ ಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನನಗೆ ಕಾಲವನ್ನು ನಿಯಮಿಸುವವನು ಯಾರು?
If I speak of strength, lo, he is strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time to plead?
20 ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಾನು ನೀತಿವಂತನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಂಡರೆ ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಬಾಯಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಖಂಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ನಾನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ನಾನು ವಕ್ರನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ಅದು ಸಿದ್ಧಾಂತಮಾಡುವದು.
If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.
21 ನಾನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ನಾನೇ ಅರಿಯದಿರುವೆನು; ನನ್ನ ಜೀವವನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರ ಮಾಡುವೆನು.
Though I were perfect, yet would I not know my soul: I would despise my life.
