Job 9:1-21 in Bengali

1 Then Job answered and said,

2 I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?

3 If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.

4 He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?

5 Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger.

6 Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.

7 Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.

8 Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.

9 Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.

10 Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.

11 Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.

12 Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou?

13 If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.

14 How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?

15 Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge.

16 If I had called, and he had answered me; yet would I not believe that he had hearkened unto my voice.

17 For he breaketh me with a tempest, and multiplieth my wounds without cause.

18 He will not suffer me to take my breath, but filleth me with bitterness.

19 If I speak of strength, lo, he is strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time to plead?

20 If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.

21 Though I were perfect, yet would I not know my soul: I would despise my life.

1 তখন ইয়োব উত্তর দিলেন:
Then Job answered and said,

2 “হ্যাঁ, আমি জানি তুমি যা বলছো তা সত্য| কিন্তু এক জন মানুষ ঈশ্বরের সঙ্গে যুক্তি-তর্কে কি ভাবে জিততে পারে?
I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?

3 এক জন মানুষ ঈশ্বরের সঙ্গে তর্ক করতে পারে না! ঈশ্বর 1,000টা প্রশ্ন করতে পারেন কিন্তু কোন মানুষ তার একটা প্রশ্নরও উত্তর দিতে পারে না!
If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.

4 ঈশ্বর প্রচণ্ড জ্ঞানী এবং তাঁর বিপুল ক্ষমতা| কেউই ঈশ্বরের সঙ্গে অক্ষত হয়ে লড়াই করতে পারে না|

5 ঈশ্বর যখন রোধন্বত হন তখন পর্বতগুলো কি হচ্ছে বোঝবার আগেই তিনি পর্বতদের সরিয়ে দেন|
Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger.

6 পৃথিবীকে কাঁপিয়ে দেবার জন্য ঈশ্বর ভূমিকম্প পাঠান| ঈশ্বর পৃথিবীর ভিত পর্য়ন্ত কাঁপিয়ে দেন|
Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.

7 ঈশ্বর সূর্য়ের সঙ্গে কথা বলতে পারেন এবং সূর্য়োদয নাও হতে দিতে পারেন| তিনি তারাদের বন্দী করে ফেলতে পারেন যাতে তারারা আর না জ্বলে|
Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.

8 ঈশ্বর নিজেই আকাশ সৃষ্টি করেছেন| তিনি সমুদ্রের ঢেউযের ওপর দিয়ে হেঁটে যান|
Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.

9 “ঈশ্বরই বৃহত্‌ ভাল্লুকমণ্ডলী, সপ্তর্ষিমণ্ডল, কালপুরুষ এবং কৃত্তিকা সৃষ্টি করেছেন| তিনিই গ্রহরাজি সৃষ্টি করেছেন যা দক্ষিণের আকাশ পরিক্রমা করে|
Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.

10 ঈশ্বর মহান সব কাজ করেন যা মানুষ বুঝে উঠতে পারে না| ঈশ্বর য়ে সব আশ্চর্য় কাজ করেন তা অগণ্য|
Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.

11 দেখ, ঈশ্বর আমার পাশ দিয়ে চলে যান কিন্তু আমি তাঁকে দেখতে পাই না| তিনি পাশ দিয়ে চলে যান কিন্তু আমি তা উপলদ্ধি করতে পারি না|
Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.

12 যদি ঈশ্বর কিছু নিয়ে যান কেউই তাঁকে রোধ করতে পারে না| কেউই তাঁকে বলতে পারে না, ‘আপনি কি করছেন?’

13 ঈশ্বর তাঁর রাগ দমন করবেন না| এমন কি রাহাবেরঅনুচররাও ঈশ্বরের সামনে নত হয়!

14 তাই আমি ঈশ্বরের সঙ্গে তর্ক করতে পারি না| আমি জানি না তাঁকে কি বলতে হবে|
How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?

15 আমি নির্দোষ, কিন্তু আমি তাঁকে কোন উত্তর দিতে পারি না| আমি শুধু আমার বিচারকের কাছে প্রার্থনা করতে পারি|

16 আমি যদি ঈশ্বরকে ডাকি এবং তিনি যদি উত্তর দেন, তবু আমি বিশ্বাস করবো না য়ে উনি আমার কথা শুনবেন|
If I had called, and he had answered me; yet would I not believe that he had hearkened unto my voice.

17 অকারণে তিনি আমার দেহে প্রচুর ক্ষত দেবেন| আমাকে আঘাত করার জন্য ঈশ্বর ঝড় পাঠাবেন|

18 ঈশ্বর পুনর্বার আমায় নিঃশ্বাস নিতে দেবেন না| তার বদলে তিনি আমায় ভয়ঙ্কর কষ্টে ভরিয়ে দেবেন|

19 এটা যদি শক্তির ব্যাপার হয়, নিশ্চয়ই তিনি অনেক বেশী শক্তিশালী| এটা যদি সুবিচারের ব্যাপার হয়, ঈশ্বরকে কে আদালতে আসার জন্য বাধ্য করতে পারে?
If I speak of strength, lo, he is strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time to plead?

20 আমি নিরপরাধ, কিন্তু আমার নিজের কথাই আমাকে অপরাধী করে তোলে| আমি নির্দোষ, কিন্তু তিনি আমায় তাঁর বিচারে অপরাধী করবেন| তাঁর বিচারে আমি অপরাধী হব|
If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.

21 আমি নির্দোষ| কিন্তু আমি জানি না কি ভাবতে হবে| আমি আমার নিজের জীবনকে ঘৃণা করি|
Though I were perfect, yet would I not know my soul: I would despise my life.
