மத்தேயு 27:22
பிலாத்து அவர்களை நோக்கி: அப்படியானால், கிறிஸ்து என்னப்படுகிற இயேசுவை நான் என்ன செய்யவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டான். அவனைச் சிலுவையில் அறையவேண்டும் என்று எல்லாரும் சொன்னார்கள்.

பிலாத்து அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: அப்படியானால், கிறிஸ்து என்னப்பட்ட இயேசுவை நான் என்னசெய்யவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டான். அவனைச் சிலுவையில் அறையவேண்டும் என்று எல்லோரும் சொன்னார்கள்.

“அப்படியானால் கிறிஸ்து எனப்படும் இயேசுவை என்ன செய்வது?” என்று பிலாத்து கேட்டான். “அவரைச் சிலுவையில் அறைந்து கொல்லுங்கள்” என்று மக்கள் சொன்னார்கள்.

பிலாத்து அவர்களிடம், “அப்படியானால் மெசியா என்னும் இயேசுவை நான் என்ன செய்ய வேண்டும்?” என்று கேட்டான். அனைவரும், “சிலுவையில் அறையும்” என்று பதிலளித்தனர்.
