அவனைக்குறித்துக் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிற வசனமாவது: சீயோன் குமாரத்தியாகிய கன்னியாஸ்திரீ உன்னை இகழ்ந்து, உன்னைப் பரிகாசம்பண்ணுகிறாள்; எருசலேம் குமாரத்தி உன் பின்னாலே தலையைத் துலுக்குகிறாள்.

அவனைக்குறித்துக் கர்த்தர் சொல்கிற வசனமாவது: மகளாகிய சீயோன் என்னும் கன்னிப்பெண் உன்னை இகழ்ந்து, உன்னைப் பரிகாசம்செய்கிறாள்; மகளாகிய எருசலேம் உன் பின்னாலே தலையைத் துலுக்குகிறாள்.

“சனகெரிப்பைக் குறித்து கர்த்தரிடமிருந்து வந்த செய்தி இதுதான்: “அசீரியா அரசனே, சீயோனின் (எருசலேம்) கன்னிமகள், ‘நீ முக்கியமானவன்’ என்று எண்ணுவதில்லை. உன்னைப் பார்த்து அவள் சிரிக்கிறாள். எருசலேமின் மகள் உன்னை பரிகாசம் செய்கிறாள். உன்னைப் பார்த்து அவள் சிரிக்கிறாள்.

அவனைக் குறித்து ஆண்டவர் சொல்லிய வாக்கு இதுவே: ⁽‘கன்னி மகள் சீயோன் உன்னை␢ அவமதித்து எள்ளி நகையாடுகிறாள்;␢ மகள் எருசலேம் உன் பின்னால் நின்று␢ இகழ்ச்சியுடன் தலையசைக்கிறாள்.⁾

thee, laughed thee to scorn; לָעֲגָ֣ה lāʿag la-Aɡ
