ਪਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਵਾਪਰੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਨਾਨੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਨਾਨੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੱਢਿਆ।

ਇਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਫ਼ਤਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਵਾਪਰੀ। ਨਫ਼ਤਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੈਤ-ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਤ-ਅਨਾਥ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਛੱਡਣ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਨਫ਼ਤਾਲੀ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ। ਅਤੇ ਕਨਾਨੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਜਬਰਦਸਤੀ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ।

ਇਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਜ਼ਬੂਲੁਨ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਵਾਪਰੀ। ਕੁਝ ਕਨਾਨੀ ਕਟਰੋਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਹਲੋਲ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਜ਼ਬੂਲੁਨ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਨਾਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਛੱਡਣ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਨਾਨੀ ਉੱਥੇ ਜ਼ਬੂਲੁਨ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਪਰ ਜ਼ਬੂਲੁਨ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ਬਰਦਸਤੀ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ।
Judges 1:28
