Proverbs 14 in Tamil

1 புத்தியுள்ள ஸ்திரீ தன் வீட்டைக்கட்டுகிறாள்; புத்தியில்லாத ஸ்திரீயோ தன் கைகளினால் அதை இடித்துப்போடுகிறாள். Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

2 நிதானமாய் நடக்கிறவன் கர்த்தருக்குப் பயப்படுகிறான்; தன் வழிகளில் தாறுமாறானவனோ அவரை அலட்சியம்பண்ணுகிறான். He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.

3 மூடன் வாயிலே அவன் அகந்தைக்கேற்ற மிலாறுண்டு; ஞானவான்களின் உதடுகளோ அவர்களைக் காப்பாற்றும். In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

4 எருதுகளில்லாத இடத்தில் களஞ்சியம் வெறுமையாயிருக்கும்; காளைகளின் பெலத்தினாலோ மிகுந்த வரத்துண்டு. Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.

5 மெய்ச்சாட்சிக்காரன் பொய்சொல்லான்; பொய்ச்சாட்சிக்காரனோ பொய்களை ஊதுகிறான். A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.

6 பரியாசக்காரன் ஞானத்தைத் தேடியும் கண்டுபிடியான்; புத்தியுள்ளவனுக்கோ அறிவு லேசாய் வரும். A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.

7 மூடனுடைய முகத்துக்கு விலகிப்போ; அறிவுள்ள உதடுகளை அங்கே காணாய். Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

8 தன் வழியைச் சிந்தித்துக்கொள்வது விவேகியின் ஞானம்; மூடர்களுடைய வஞ்சனையோ மூடத்தனம். The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

9 மூடர் பாவத்தைக்குறித்துப் பரியாசம்பண்ணுகிறார்கள்; நீதிமான்களுக்குள்ளே தயை உண்டு. Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

10 இருதயத்தின் கசப்பு இருதயத்திற்கே தெரியும்; அதின் மகிழ்ச்சிக்கு அந்நியன் உடந்தையாகான். The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.

11 துன்மார்க்கனுடைய வீடு அழியும்; செம்மையானவனுடைய கூடாரமோ செழிக்கும். The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.

12 மனுஷனுக்குச் செம்மையாய்த் தோன்றுகிற வழி உண்டு; அதின் முடிவோ மரண வழிகள். There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

13 நகைப்பிலும் மனதுக்குத் துக்கமுண்டு; அந்த மகிழ்ச்சியின் முடிவு சஞ்சலம். Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.

14 பின்வாங்கும் இருதயமுள்ளவன் தன் வழிகளிலேயும், நல்ல மனுஷனோ தன்னிலே தானும் திருப்தியடைவான். The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

15 பேதையானவன் எந்த வார்த்தையையும் நம்புவான்; விவேகியோ தன் நடையின்மேல் கவனமாயிருக்கிறான். The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

16 ஞானமுள்ளவன் பயந்து தீமைக்கு விலகுகிறான்; மதியீனனோ மூர்க்கங்கொண்டு துணிகரமாயிருக்கிறான். A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

17 முற்கோபி மதிகேட்டைச் செய்வான்; துர்ச்சிந்தனைக்காரன் வெறுக்கப்படுவான். He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.

18 பேதையர் புத்தியீனத்தைச் சுதந்தரிக்கிறார்கள்; விவேகிகளோ அறிவினால் முடிசூட்டப்படுகிறார்கள். The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

19 தீயோர் நல்லோருக்கு முன்பாகவும் துன்மார்க்கர் நீதிமான்களுடைய வாசற்படிகளிலும் குனிவதுண்டு. The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

20 தரித்திரன் தனக்கடுத்தவனாலும் பகைக்கப்படுகிறான்; ஐசுவரியவானுக்கோ அநேக சிநேகிதருண்டு. The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.

21 பிறனை அவமதிக்கிறவன் பாவஞ்செய்கிறான்; தரித்திரனுக்கு இரங்குகிறவனோ பாக்கியமடைவான். He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.

22 தீமையை யோசிக்கிறவர்கள் தவறுகிறார்களல்லவோ? நன்மையை யோசிக்கிறவர்களுக்கோ கிருபையும் சத்தியமுமுண்டு. Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.

23 சகல பிரயாசத்தினாலும் பிரயோஜனமுண்டு; உதடுகளின் பேச்சோ வறுமையை மாத்திரம் தரும். In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

24 ஞானிகளுக்கு முடி அவர்கள் செல்வம்; மூடரின் மதியீனம் மூடத்தனமே. The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.

25 மெய்ச்சாட்சி சொல்லுகிறவன் உயிர்களை இரட்சிக்கிறான்; வஞ்சனைக்காரனோ பொய்களை ஊதுகிறான். A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.

26 கர்த்தருக்குப் பயப்படுகிறவனுக்குத் திடநம்பிக்கை உண்டு; அவன் பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் அடைக்கலம் கிடைக்கும். In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

27 கர்த்தருக்குப் பயப்படுதல் ஜீவஊற்று; அதினால் மரணக்கண்ணிகளுக்குத் தப்பலாம். The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

28 ஜனத்திரட்சி ராஜாவின் மகிமை, ஜனக்குறைவு தலைவனின் முறிவு. In the multitude of people is the king's honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.

29 நீடிய சாந்தமுள்ளவன் மகாபுத்திமான்; முற்கோபியோ புத்தியீனத்தை விளங்கப்பண்ணுகிறான். He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

30 சொஸ்தமனம் உடலுக்கு ஜீவன்; பொறாமையோ எலும்புருக்கி. A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

31 தரித்திரனை ஒடுக்குகிறவன் அவனை உண்டாக்கினவரை நிந்திக்கிறான்; தரித்திரனுக்குத் தயைசெய்கிறவனோ அவரைக் கனம்பண்ணுகிறான். He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.

32 துன்மார்க்கன் தன் தீமையிலே வாரிக்கொள்ளப்படுவான்; நீதிமானோ தன் மரணத்திலே நம்பிக்கையுள்ளவன். The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.

33 புத்திமானுடைய இருதயத்தில் ஞானம் தங்கும்; மதியீனரிடத்தில் உள்ளதோ வெளிப்படும். Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.

34 நீதி ஜனத்தை உயர்த்தும்; பாவமோ எந்த ஜனத்துக்கும் இகழ்ச்சி. Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

35 ராஜாவின் தயை விவேகமுள்ள பணிவிடைக்காரன்மேலிருக்கும்; அவனுடைய கோபமோ இலச்சையுண்டாக்குகிறவன் மேலிருக்கும். The king's favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.

1 Puththiyulla sthiree than veettaைkkattukiraal; puththiyillaatha sthireeyo than kaikalinaal athai itiththuppodukiraal. Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

2 Nithaanamaay nadakkiravan karththarukkup payappadukiraan; than valikalil thaaraுmaaraanavano avarai alatchiyampannnukiraan. He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.

3 Moodan vaayilae avan akanthaikkaetta milaaraுnndu; njaanavaankalin uthadukalo avarkalaik kaappaattaுm. In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

4 Eruthukalillaatha idaththil kalanjiyam veraுmaiyaayirukkum; kaalaikalin pelaththinaalo mikuntha varaththunndu. Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.

5 Meychchaாtchikkaaran poysollaan; poychchaாtchikkaarano poykalai oothukiraan. A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.

6 Pariyaasakkaaran njaanaththaith thaetiyum kanndupitiyaan; puththiyullavanukko arivu laesaay varum. A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.

7 Moodanutaiya mukaththukku vilakippo; arivulla uthadukalai angae kaannaay. Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

8 Than valiyaich sinthiththukkolvathu vivaekiyin njaanam; moodarkalutaiya vanjanaiyo moodaththanam. The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

9 Moodar paavaththaikkuriththup pariyaasampannnukiraarkal; neethimaankalukkullae thayai unndu. Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

18 Paethaiyar puththiyeenaththaich suthantharikkiraarkal; vivaekikalo arivinaal mutisoottappadukiraarkal. The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

19 Theeyor nallorukku munpaakavum thunmaarkkar neethimaankalutaiya vaasarpatikalilum kunivathunndu. The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

20 Thariththiran thanakkaduththavanaalum pakaikkappadukiraan; aisuvariyavaanukko anaeka sinaekitharunndu. The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.

21 Piranai avamathikkiravan paavanjaெykiraan; thariththiranukku irangukiravano paakkiyamataivaan. He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.

28 Janaththiratchi raajaavin makimai, janakkuraivu thalaivanin murivu. In the multitude of people is the king's honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.
