യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികൾ അവന്റെ ഇളയമകനായ അഹസ്യാവെ അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവാക്കി; അരബികളോടുകൂടെ പാളയത്തിൽ വന്ന പടക്കൂട്ടം മൂത്തവരെ ഒക്കെയും കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞിരുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെ യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോരാമിന്റെ മകൻ അഹസ്യാവു രാജാവായി.
