John 21:23
તેથી એ વાત ભાઈઓમાં અંદર અંદર પ્રસરી. તેઓ કહેતા હતા કે આ શિષ્ય જેને ઈસુ પ્રેમ કરતો હતો તે મૃત્યુ પામશે નહિ. પણ ઈસુએ કહ્યું ન હતું કે તે મૃત્યુ પામશે નહિ. તેણે ફક્ત કહ્યું, “ધારો કે મેં નક્કી કર્યુ હોય કે હું પાછો આવું ત્યાં સુધી તે જીવે એમાં તારે શું?”

Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?

American Standard Version (ASV)
This saying therefore went forth among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, that he should not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what `is that' to thee?
