1 Corinthians 7 in Tamil

1 நீங்கள் எனக்கு எழுதின காரியங்களைக்குறித்து நான் எழுதுகிறதென்னவென்றால், ஸ்திரீயைத் தொடாமலிருக்கிறது மனுஷனுக்கு நல்லது. Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.

2 ஆகிலும் வேசித்தனம் இராதபடிக்கு அவனவன் தன் சொந்த மனைவியையும், அவனவன் தன் சொந்தப் புருஷனையும் உடையவர்களாயிருக்கவேண்டும். Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

3 புருஷன் தன் மனைவிக்குச் செய்யவேண்டிய கடமையைச் சφய்யக்கடவன்; அப்படியே மனைவியும் தன் புருஷனுக்குச் செய்யக்கடவள். Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.

4 மனைவியானவள் தன் சுயசரீரத்திற்கு அதிகாரியல்ல, புருஷனே அதற்கு அதிகாரி; அப்படியே புருஷனும் தன் சுயசரீரத்திற்கு அதிகாரியல்ல, மனைவியே அதற்கு அதிகாரி. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.

5 உபவாசத்திற்கும் ஜெபத்திற்கும் தடையிராதபடிக்கு இருவரும் சிலகாலம் பிரிந்திருக்கவேண்டுமென்று சம்மதித்தாலன்றி, ஒருவரைவிட்டு ஒருவர் பிரியாதிருங்கள்; உங்களுக்கு விரதத்துவம் இல்லாமையால் சாத்தான் உங்களைத் தூண்டிவிடாதபடிக்கு, மறுபடியும் கூடி வாழுங்கள். Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

6 இதை நான் கட்டளையாகச் சொல்லாமல், யோசனையாகச் சொல்லுகிறேன். But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.

7 எல்லா மனுஷரும் என்னைப்போலவே இருக்க விரும்புகிறேன். ஆகிலும் அவனவனுக்கு தேவனால் அருளப்பட்ட அவனவனுக்குரிய வரமுண்டு; அது ஒருவனுக்கு ஒருவிதமாயும், மற்றொருவனுக்கு வேறுவிதமாயும் இருக்கிறது. For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.

8 வரமில்லாதவர்களையும், கைம்பெண்களையும்குறித்து நான் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால், அவர்கள் என்னைப்போல இருந்துவிட்டால் அவர்களுக்கு நலமாயிருக்கும். I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.

9 ஆகிலும் அவர்கள் விரத்தராயிருக்கக்கூடாதிருந்தால் விவாகம்பண்ணக்கடவர்கள்; வேகிறதைப்பார்க்கிலும் விவாகம்பண்ணுகிறது நலம். But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

10 விவாகம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டவர்களுக்கு நானல்ல, கர்த்தரே கட்டளையிடுகிறதாவது: மனைவியானவள் தன் புருஷனை விட்டுப் பிரிந்துபோகக்கூடாது. And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:

11 பிரிந்துபோனால் அவள் விவாகமில்லாதிருக்கக்கடவள், அல்லது புருஷனோடே ஒப்புரவாகக்கடவள்; புருஷனும் தன் மனைவியைத் தள்ளிவிடக்கூடாது. But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

12 மற்றவர்களைக்குறித்துக் கர்த்தர் அல்ல, நானே சொல்லுகிறதாவது: சகோதரனொருவனுடைய மனைவி அவிசுவாசியாயிருந்தும், அவனுடனே வாசமாயிருக்க அவளுக்குச் சம்மதமிருந்தால், அவன் அவளைத் தள்ளிவிடாதிருக்கக்கடவன். But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.

13 அப்படியே ஒரு ஸ்திரீயினுடைய புருஷன் அவிசுவாசியாயிருந்தும், அவளுடனே வாசமாயிருக்க அவனுக்குச் சம்மதமிருந்தால், அவள் அவனைத் தள்ளிவிடாதிருக்கக்கடவள். And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.

14 என்னத்தினாலெனில், அவிசுவாசியான புருஷன் தன் மனைவியால் பரிசுத்தமாக்கப்படுகிறான்; அவிசுவாசியான மனைவியும் தன் புருஷனால் பரிசுத்தமாக்கப்படுகிறாள். இல்லாவிட்டால் உங்கள் பிள்ளைகள் அசுத்தமாயிருக்குமே; இப்பொழுதோ அவைகள் பரிசுத்தமாயிருக்கின்றன. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

15 ஆகிலும், அவிசுவாசி பிரிந்துபோனால் பிரிந்துபோகட்டும், இப்படிப்பட்ட விஷயத்தில், சகோதரனாவது சகோதரியாவது அடிமைப்பட்டவர்களல்ல. சமாதானமாயிருக்கும்படிக்கே தேவன் நம்மை அழைத்திருக்கிறார். But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

16 மனைவியானவளே, நீ உன் புருஷனை இரட்சிப்பாயோ அல்லவோ உனக்கு எப்படித் தெரியும்? புருஷனே, நீ உன் மனைவியை இரட்சிப்பாயோ அல்லவோ உனக்கு எப்படித் தெரியும்? For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?

17 தேவன் அவனவனுக்குப் பகிர்ந்ததெப்படியோ, கர்த்தர் அவனவனை அழைத்ததெப்படியோ, அப்படியே அவனவன் நடக்கக்கடவன். எல்லாச் சபைகளிலேயும் இப்படியே திட்டம்பண்ணுகிறேன். But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches.

18 ஒருவன் விருத்தசேதனம் பெற்றவனாய் அழைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தால், விருத்தசேதனமில்லாதவனாயிருக்க வகைதேடானாக; ஒருவன் விருத்தசேதனமில்லாதவனாய் அழைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தால், விருத்தசேதனம்பெறாதிருப்பானாக. Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised.

19 விருத்தசேதனமும் ஒன்றுமில்லை, விருத்தசேதனமில்லாமையும் ஒன்றுமில்லை; தேவனுடைய கற்பனைகளைக் கைக்கொள்ளுகிறதே காரியம். Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

20 அவனவன் தான் அழைக்கப்பட்ட நிலைமையிலே நிலைத்திருக்கக்கடவன். Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.

21 அடிமையாய் நீ அழைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தால், கவலைப்படாதே; நீ சுயாதீனனாகக்கூடுமானால் அதை நலமென்று அநுசரித்துக்கொள். Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.

22 கர்த்தருக்குள் அழைக்கப்பட்ட அடிமையானவன் கர்த்தருடைய சுயாதீனனாயிருக்கிறான்; அப்படியே அழைக்கப்பட்ட சுயாதீனன் கிறிஸ்துவினுடைய அடிமையாயிருக்கிறான். For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ's servant.

23 நீங்கள் கிரயத்துக்குக் கொள்ளப்பட்டீர்கள்; மனுஷருக்கு அடிமைகளாகாதிருங்கள். Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.

24 சகோதரரே, அவனவன் தான் அழைக்கப்பட்ட நிலைமையிலே தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக நிலைத்திருக்கக்கடவன். Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.

25 அன்றியும் கன்னிகைகளைக்குறித்து, கர்த்தரால் எனக்குக் கட்டளை இல்லை. ஆகிலும் நான் உண்மையுள்ளவனாயிருக்கிறதற்குக் கர்த்தரால் இரக்கம்பெற்று என் அபிப்பிராயத்தைத் தெரியப்படுத்துகிறேன். Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful.

26 அதென்னவெனில் இப்பொழுது உண்டாயிருக்கிற துன்பத்தினிமித்தம் விவாகமில்லாமலிருக்கிறது மனுஷனுக்கு நலமாயிருக்குமென்று எண்ணுகிறேன். I suppose therefore that this is good for the present distress, I say, that it is good for a man so to be.

27 நீ மனைவியோடே கட்டப்பட்டிருந்தால், அவிழ்க்கப்பட வகைதேடாதே; நீ மனைவி இல்லாதவனாயிருந்தால் மனைவியைத் தேடாதே. Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife.

28 நீ விவாகம்பண்ணினாலும் பாவமல்ல, கன்னிகை விவாகம்பண்ணினாலும் பாவமல்ல. ஆகிலும் அப்படிப்பட்டவர்கள் சரீரத்திலே உபத்திரவப்படுவார்கள்; அதற்கு நீங்கள் தப்பவேண்டுமென்றிருக்கிறேன். But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you.

29 மேலும், சகோதரரே, நான் சொல்லுகிறதென்னவெனில், இனிவரும் காலம் குறுகினதானபடியால், மனைவிகளுள்ளவர்கள் மனைவிகளில்லாதவர்கள்போலவும், But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;

30 அழுகிறவர்கள் அழாதவர்கள்போலவும், சந்தோஷப்படுகிறவர்கள் சந்தோஷப்படாதவர்கள்போலவும், கொள்ளுகிறவர்கள் கொள்ளாதவர்கள்போலவும், And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not;

31 இவ்வுலகத்தை அனுபவிக்கிறவர்கள் அதைத் தகாதவிதமாய் அனுபவியாதவர்கள்போலவும் இருக்கவேண்டும்; இவ்வுலத்தின் வேஷம் கடந்துபோகிறதே. And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.

32 நீங்கள் கவலையற்றவர்களாயிருக்க விரும்புகிறேன். விவாகமில்லாதவன் கர்த்தருக்கு எப்படிப் பிரியமாயிருக்கலாமென்று, கர்த்தருக்குரியவைகளுக்காகக் கவலைப்படுகிறான். But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:

33 விவாகம்பண்ணினவன் தன் மனைவிக்கு எப்படிப் பிரியமாயிருக்கலாமென்று, உலகத்திற்குரியவைகளுக்காகக் கவலைப்படுகிறான். But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.

34 அதுபோல, மனைவியானவளுக்கும் கன்னிகைக்கும் வித்தியாசமுண்டு. விவாகமில்லாதவள் சரீரத்திலும் ஆத்துமாவிலும் பரிசுத்தமாயிருக்கும்படி கர்த்தருக்குரியவைகளுக்காகக் கவலைப்படுகிறாள்; விவாகம்பண்ணினவள் தன் புருஷனுக்கு எப்படிப் பிரியமாயிருக்கலாமென்று, உலகத்திற்குரியவைளுக்காகக் கவலைப்படுகிறாள். There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.

35 இதை நான் உங்களைக் கண்ணியில் அகப்படுத்தவேண்டுமென்று சொல்லாமல், உங்களுக்குத் தகுதியாயிருக்குமென்றும், நீங்கள் கவலையில்லாமல் கர்த்தரைப் பற்றிக்கொண்டிருக்கவேண்டுமென்றும், உங்கள் சுயபிரயோஜனத்துக்காகவே சொல்லுகிறேன். And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.

36 ஆகிலும் ஒருவன் தன் புத்திரியின் கன்னிகைப்பருவம் கடந்துபோனதினாலே, அவள் விவாகம் பண்ணாமலிருப்பது அவளுக்குத் தகுதியல்லவென்றும், அவள் விவாகம்பண்ணுவது அவசியமென்றும் நினைத்தால், அவன் தன் மனதின்படி செய்யக்கடவன்; அது பாவமல்ல, விவாகம்பண்ணட்டும். But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry.

37 ஆயினும் அதற்கு அவசியத்தைக்காணாமல், தன் இருதயத்திலே உறுதியுள்ளவனாயும், சுயசித்தத்தின்படி செய்ய அதிகாரமுள்ளவனாயுமிருந்து, தன் புத்திரியின் கன்னிப்பருவத்தைக் காக்கவேண்டுமென்று தன் இருதயத்தில் தீர்மானிக்கிறவன் நன்மைசெய்கிறான். Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well.

38 இப்படியிருக்க, அவளை விவாகம்பணணிக் கொடுக்கிறவனும் நன்மைசெய்கிறான்; கொடாமலிருக்கிறவனும் அதிக நன்மைசெய்கிறான். So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth her not in marriage doeth better.

39 மனைவியானவள் தன் புருஷன் உயிரோடிருக்குங்காலமளவும் பிரமாணத்தினால் கட்டப்பட்டிருக்கிறாள்; தன் புருஷன் மரித்தபின்பு தனக்கு இஷ்டமானவனாயும் கர்த்தருக்குட்பட்டவனாயுமிருக்கிற எவனையாகிலும் விவாகம்பண்ணிக்கொள்ள விடுதலையாயிருக்கிறாள். The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.

40 ஆகிலும் என்னுடைய அபிப்பிராயத்தின்படி அவள் அப்படியே இருந்துவிட்டால் பாக்கியவதியாயிருப்பாள். என்னிடத்திலும் தேவனுடைய ஆவி உண்டென்று எண்ணுகிறேன். But she is happier if she so abide, after my judgment: and I think also that I have the Spirit of God.

1 Neengal enakku eluthina kaariyangalaikkuriththu naan eluthukirathennavental, sthireeyaith thodaamalirukkirathu manushanukku nallathu. Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.

2 Aakilum vaesiththanam iraathapatikku avanavan than sontha manaiviyaiyum, avanavan than sonthap purushanaiyum utaiyavarkalaayirukkavaenndum. Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

3 Purushan than manaivikkuch seyyavaenntiya kadamaiyaich saφyyakkadavan; appatiyae manaiviyum than purushanukkuch seyyakkadaval. Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.

4 Manaiviyaanaval than suyasareeraththirku athikaariyalla, purushanae atharku athikaari; appatiyae purushanum than suyasareeraththirku athikaariyalla, manaiviyae atharku athikaari. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.

5 Upavaasaththirkum jepaththirkum thataiyiraathapatikku iruvarum silakaalam pirinthirukkavaenndumentu sammathiththaalanti, oruvaraivittu oruvar piriyaathirungal; ungalukku virathaththuvam illaamaiyaal saaththaan ungalaith thoonntividaathapatikku, maraுpatiyum kooti vaalungal. 6 Ithai naan kattalaiyaakach sollaamal, yosanaiyaakach sollukiraேn. But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.

7 Ellaa manusharum ennaippolavae irukka virumpukiraேn. Aakilum avanavanukku thaevanaal arulappatta avanavanukkuriya varamunndu; athu oruvanukku oruvithamaayum, mattaொruvanukku vaeraுvithamaayum irukkirathu. For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.

8 Varamillaathavarkalaiyum, kaimpennkalaiyumkuriththu naan sollukirathu ennavental, avarkal ennaippola irunthuvittal avarkalukku nalamaayirukkum. I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.

9 Aakilum avarkal viraththaraayirukkakkoodaathirunthaal vivaakampannnakkadavarkal; vaekirathaippaarkkilum vivaakampannnukirathu nalam. But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

10 Vivaakampannnnikkonndavarkalukku naanalla, karththarae kattalaiyidukirathaavathu: manaiviyaanaval than purushanai vittup pirinthupokakkoodaathu. And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:

11 Pirinthuponaal aval vivaakamillaathirukkakkadaval, allathu purushanotae oppuravaakakkadaval; purushanum than manaiviyaith thallividakkoodaathu. But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

12 Mattavarkalaikkuriththuk Karththar alla, naanae sollukirathaavathu: sakotharanoruvanutaiya manaivi avisuvaasiyaayirunthum, avanudanae vaasamaayirukka avalukkuch sammathamirunthaal, avan avalaith thallividaathirukkakkadavan. But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.

13 Appatiyae oru sthireeyinutaiya purushan avisuvaasiyaayirunthum, avaludanae vaasamaayirukka avanukkuch sammathamirunthaal, aval avanaith thallividaathirukkakkadaval. And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.

14 Ennaththinaalenil, avisuvaasiyaana purushan than manaiviyaal Parisuththamaakkappadukiraan; avisuvaasiyaana manaiviyum than purushanaal Parisuththamaakkappadukiraal. Illaavittal ungal pillaikal asuththamaayirukkumae; ippolutho avaikal Parisuththamaayirukkintana. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

15 Aakilum, avisuvaasi pirinthuponaal pirinthupokattum, ippatippatta vishayaththil, sakotharanaavathu sakothariyaavathu atimaippattavarkalalla. Samaathaanamaayirukkumpatikkae Dhevan nammai alaiththirukkiraar. But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

16 Manaiviyaanavalae, nee un purushanai iratchippaayo allavo unakku eppatith theriyum? Purushanae, nee un manaiviyai iratchippaayo allavo unakku eppatith theriyum? For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?

17 Dhevan avanavanukkup pakirnthatheppatiyo, Karththar avanavanai alaiththatheppatiyo, appatiyae avanavan nadakkakkadavan. Ellaach Sabaikalilaeyum ippatiyae thittampannnukiraேn. But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches.

18 Oruvan viruththasethanam pettavanaay alaikkappattirunthaal, viruththasethanamillaathavanaayirukka vakaithaedaanaaka; oruvan viruththasethanamillaathavanaay alaikkappattirunthaal, viruththasethanamperaathiruppaanaaka. Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised.

19 Viruththasethanamum ontumillai, viruththasethanamillaamaiyum ontumillai; thaevanutaiya karpanaikalaik kaikkollukirathae kaariyam. Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

20 Avanavan thaan alaikkappatta nilaimaiyilae nilaiththirukkakkadavan. Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.

21 Atimaiyaay nee alaikkappattirunthaal, kavalaippadaathae; nee suyaatheenanaakakkoodumaanaal athai nalamentu anusariththukkol. Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.

22 Karththarukkul alaikkappatta atimaiyaanavan karththarutaiya suyaatheenanaayirukkiraan; appatiyae alaikkappatta suyaatheenan Kristhuvinutaiya atimaiyaayirukkiraan. For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ's servant.

23 Neengal kirayaththukkuk kollappattirkal; manusharukku atimaikalaakaathirungal. Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.

24 Sakothararae, avanavan thaan alaikkappatta nilaimaiyilae thaevanukku munpaaka nilaiththirukkakkadavan. Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.

25 Antiyum kannikaikalaikkuriththu, karththaraal enakkuk kattalai illai. Aakilum naan unnmaiyullavanaayirukkiratharkuk karththaraal irakkampettaு en apippiraayaththaith theriyappaduththukiraேn. Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful.

26 Athennavenil ippoluthu unndaayirukkira thunpaththinimiththam vivaakamillaamalirukkirathu manushanukku nalamaayirukkumentu ennnukiraேn. I suppose therefore that this is good for the present distress, I say, that it is good for a man so to be.

27 Nee manaiviyotae kattappattirunthaal, avilkkappada vakaithaedaathae; nee manaivi illaathavanaayirunthaal manaiviyaith thaedaathae. Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife.

28 Nee vivaakampannnninaalum paavamalla, kannikai vivaakampannnninaalum paavamalla. Aakilum appatippattavarkal sareeraththilae upaththiravappaduvaarkal; atharku neengal thappavaenndumentirukkiraேn. But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you.

29 Maelum, sakothararae, naan sollukirathennavenil, inivarum kaalam kuraுkinathaanapatiyaal, manaivikalullavarkal manaivikalillaathavarkalpolavum, But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;

30 Alukiravarkal alaathavarkalpolavum, santhoshappadukiravarkal santhoshappadaathavarkalpolavum, kollukiravarkal kollaathavarkalpolavum, And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not;

31 Ivvulakaththai anupavikkiravarkal athaith thakaathavithamaay anupaviyaathavarkalpolavum irukkavaenndum; ivvulaththin vaesham kadanthupokirathae. And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.

32 Neengal kavalaiyattavarkalaayirukka virumpukiraேn. Vivaakamillaathavan karththarukku eppatip piriyamaayirukkalaamentu, karththarukkuriyavaikalukkaakak kavalaippadukiraan. But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:

33 Vivaakampannnninavan than manaivikku eppatip piriyamaayirukkalaamentu, ulakaththirkuriyavaikalukkaakak kavalaippadukiraan. But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.

34 Athupola, manaiviyaanavalukkum kannikaikkum viththiyaasamunndu. Vivaakamillaathaval sareeraththilum aaththumaavilum Parisuththamaayirukkumpati karththarukkuriyavaikalukkaakak kavalaippadukiraal; vivaakampannnninaval than purushanukku eppatip piriyamaayirukkalaamentu, ulakaththirkuriyavailukkaakak kavalaippadukiraal. There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.

35 Ithai naan ungalaik kannnniyil akappaduththavaenndumentu sollaamal, ungalukkuth thakuthiyaayirukkumentum, neengal kavalaiyillaamal karththaraip pattikkonntirukkavaenndumentum, ungal suyapirayojanaththukkaakavae sollukiraேn. And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.

36 Aakilum oruvan than puththiriyin kannikaipparuvam kadanthuponathinaalae, aval vivaakam pannnnaamaliruppathu avalukkuth thakuthiyallaventum, aval vivaakampannnuvathu avasiyamentum ninaiththaal, avan than manathinpati seyyakkadavan; athu paavamalla, vivaakampannnattum. But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry.

37 Aayinum atharku avasiyaththaikkaannaamal, than iruthayaththilae uraுthiyullavanaayum, suyasiththaththinpati seyya athikaaramullavanaayumirunthu, than puththiriyin kannipparuvaththaik kaakkavaenndumentu than iruthayaththil theermaanikkiravan nanmaiseykiraan. Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well.

38 Ippatiyirukka, avalai vivaakampanannik kodukkiravanum nanmaiseykiraan; kodaamalirukkiravanum athika nanmaiseykiraan. So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth her not in marriage doeth better.

39 Manaiviyaanaval than purushan uyirotirukkungaalamalavum piramaanaththinaal kattappattirukkiraal; than purushan mariththapinpu thanakku ishdamaanavanaayum karththarukkutpattavanaayumirukkira evanaiyaakilum vivaakampannnnikkolla viduthalaiyaayirukkiraal. The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.

40 Aakilum ennutaiya apippiraayaththinpati aval appatiyae irunthuvittal paakkiyavathiyaayiruppaal. Ennidaththilum thaevanutaiya aavi unndentu ennnukiraேn. But she is happier if she so abide, after my judgment: and I think also that I have the Spirit of God.
