దేవుని మూలముగా పుట్టిన ప్రతివానిలో ఆయన బీజము నిలుచును గనుక వాడు పాపముచేయడు; వాడు దేవుని మూలముగా పుట్టినవాడు గనుక పాపము చేయజాలడు.

King James Version (KJV)
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
American Standard Version (ASV)
Whosoever is begotten of God doeth no sin, because his seed abideth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is begotten of God.
