அவர்கள் இருவரும் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக உடன்படிக்கை பண்ணினபின்பு, தாவீது காட்டில் இருந்துவிட்டான்; யோனத்தானோ தன் வீட்டிற்குப் போனான்.

யோனத்தான் தாவீதைத் தன் ஆத்துமாவைப் போலச் சிநேகித்ததினால், அவனும் இவனும் உடன்படிக்கைபண்ணிக் கொண்டார்கள்.

1 சாமுவேல் 20:42
அப்பொழுது யோனத்தான் தாவீதை நோக்கி: நீர் சமாதானத்தோடே போம், கர்த்தர் என்றைக்கும் எனக்கும் உமக்கும், என் சந்ததிக்கும் உமது சந்ததிக்கும் நடுநிற்கும் சாட்சி என்று சொல்லி, கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தைக்கொண்டு நாம் இருவரும் ஆணையிட்டுக்கொண்டதை நினைத்துக்கொள்ளும் என்றான். ஆனாலும் தாவீதும் சவுலின் குமாரனாகிய யோனத்தானும் கர்த்தரைக்கொண்டு இட்ட ஆணையினிமித்தம், ராஜா சவுலின் குமாரனாகிய யோனத்தானின் மகன் மேவிபோசேத்தைத் தப்பவிட்டு,

யோனத்தான்நிமித்தம் என்னால் தயவுபெறத்தக்கவன் எவனாவது சவுலின் வீட்டாரில் இன்னும் மீதியாயிருக்கிறவன் உண்டா என்று தாவீது கேட்டான்.
