அப்பொழுது ராஜஸ்திரீயும் பக்கத்தில் உட்கார்ந்திருந்தாள். ராஜா என்னைப் பார்த்து: உன் பிரயாணம் எத்தனை நாள் செல்லும், நீ எப்பொழுது திரும்பிவருவாய் என்று கேட்டார். இவ்வளவுகாலம் செல்லுமென்று நான் ராஜாவுக்குச் சொன்னபோது, என்னை அனுப்ப அவருக்குச் சித்தமாயிற்று.

அப்பொழுது ராணியும், பக்கத்தில் உட்கார்ந்திருந்தாள். ராஜா என்னைப் பார்த்து: உன்னுடைய பிரயாணத்திற்கு எத்தனை நாட்கள் ஆகும், நீ எப்பொழுது திரும்பி வருவாய் என்று கேட்டார். இவ்வளவுநாட்கள் ஆகுமென்று நான் ராஜாவிற்குச் சொன்னபோது, என்னை அனுப்ப அவருக்கு விருப்பமானது.

அரசி அரசனுக்கு அடுத்து அமர்ந்துக் கொண்டிருந்தாள். அரசன் என்னிடம், “நீ போய் வர எவ்வளவு காலம் எடுக்கும். நீ இங்கே எப்பொழுது திரும்பி வருவாய்?” என்று கேட்டான். அரசன் என்னை அனுப்புவதில் சந்தோஷப்பட்டான். எனவே நான் அவனுக்குக் குறிப்பிட்ட காலத்தைச் சொன்னேன்.

இதெல்லாம் நடக்கும்போது நான் எருசலேமில் இல்லை; பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய அர்தசஷ்டாவின் முப்பத்திரண்டாம் வருஷத்திலே நான் ராஜாவினிடத்திற்குப்போய், சில நாளுக்குப்பின்பு திரும்ப ராஜாவினிடத்தில் உத்தரவு பெற்றுக்கொண்டு,

Nehemiah 5:14
நான் யூதாதேசத்திலே அதிபதியாயிருக்கும்படி ராஜாவாகிய அர்தசஷ்டா எனக்குக் கற்பித்த நாளாகிய அவருடைய இருபதாம் வருஷம் தொடங்கி, அவருடைய முப்பத்திரண்டாம் வருஷம் வரைக்கும் இருந்த பன்னிரண்டு வருஷகாலமாய், நானும் என் சகோதரரும் அதிபதிகள் வாங்குகிற படியை வாங்கிச் சாப்பிடவில்லை.

ஆண்டவரே, உமது அடியானின் ஜெபத்தையும், உமது நாமத்துக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டும் என்று விரும்புகிற உமது அடியாரின் ஜெபத்தையும் உமது செவிகள் கவனித்திருப்பதாக; இன்றைக்கு உமது அடியானுக்குக் காரியத்தைக் கைக்கூடி வரப்பண்ணி, இந்த மனுஷனுக்கு முன்பாக எனக்கு இரக்கம் கிடைக்கப்பண்ணியருளும் என்று பிரார்த்தித்தேன். நான் ராஜாவுக்குப் பானபாத்திரக்காரனாயிருந்தேன்.
