யோவான் 19:13
பிலாத்து இந்த வார்த்தையைக் கேட்டபொழுது, இயேசுவை வெளியே அழைத்துவந்து, தளவரிசைப்படுத்தின மேடையென்றும், எபிரெயு பாஷையிலே கபத்தா என்றும் சொல்லப்பட்ட இடத்திலே, நியாயாசனத்தின்மேல் உட்கார்ந்தான்.

பிலாத்து இந்த வார்த்தையைக் கேட்டபொழுது, இயேசுவை வெளியே அழைத்துவந்து, தளமிடப்பட்ட மேடையென்றும், எபிரெயு மொழியிலே கபத்தா என்றும் சொல்லப்பட்ட இடத்திலே, நீதியிருக்கை மீது உட்கார்ந்தான்.

யூதர்கள் சொன்னவற்றைப் பிலாத்து கேட்டான். எனவே, அவன் இயேசுவை அரண்மனையை விட்டு வெளியே இழுத்து வந்தான். யூதர்களின் மொழியில் கபத்தா என்று அழைக்கப்பெறும் கல்தள வரிசை அமைக்கப்பட்ட மேடைக்கு வந்தான். அங்கே இருந்த நீதிபதியின் இருக்கையில் அமர்ந்தான்.

திருவிவிலியம்
இவ்வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டதும் பிலாத்து இயேசுவை வெளியே கூட்டி வந்தான். “கல்தளம்” என்னும் இடத்தில் இருந்த நடுவர் இருக்கை மீது அமர்ந்தான். அந்த இடத்திற்கு எபிரேய மொழியில் “கபதா” என்பது பெயர்.⒫

King James Version (KJV)
When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.

American Standard Version (ASV)
When Pilate therefore heard these words, he brought Jesus out, and sat down on the judgment-seat at a place called The Pavement, but in Hebrew, Gabbatha.
