அறுவடைக் காலத்தில் காயீன் தன் வயலில் விளைந்த தானியங்களைக் கர்த்தருக்குக் காணிக்கையாகக் கொண்டு போனான். ஆனால் ஆபேல் தன் மந்தையிலிருந்து சில சிறந்த ஆடுகளைக் கொண்டு போனான். கர்த்தர் ஆபேலையும், அவன் காணிக்கையையும் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டார்.
