ਤਾਂ ਬਿਲਆਮ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਦੂਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਖ ਸੱਕਿਆ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਲੋਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੀ। ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਗਲਤੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਘਰ ਵਾਪਸ ਚੱਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।”

I have sinned; חָטָ֔אתִי ḥāṭāʾ ha-TA
for כִּ֚י kî kee
not לֹ֣א lōʾ loh
I knew יָדַ֔עְתִּי yādaʿ ya-DA
that כִּ֥י kî kee
thou אַתָּ֛ה ʾattâ ah-TA
stoodest נִצָּ֥ב nāṣab na-TSAHV
against לִקְרָאתִ֖י qirʾâ keer-AH
in the way בַּדָּ֑רֶךְ derek deh-REK
me: now וְעַתָּ֛ה ʿattâ ah-TA
therefore, if אִם ʾim eem
it displease רַ֥ע raʿ ra
thee, בְּעֵינֶ֖יךָ ʿayin ah-YEEN
I will get me back again. אָשׁ֥וּבָה šûb shoov
