Nehemiah 9:7
ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਸਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਊਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਉ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਰੱਖਿਆ।

ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਦਲ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ-ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਬਣਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।

Isaiah 41:8

Isaiah 51:2
ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਵੱਲ ਦੇਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਰਾਹ ਵੱਲ ਦੇਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ-ਉਹ ਔਰਤ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਇੱਕਲਾ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਸੀ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਲੋਕ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ।”

ਇਸਤੀਫ਼ਾਨ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਪਿਤਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ ਸੁਣੋ। ਸਾਡੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਰਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਮਸੋਪੋਤਾਮਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ, ਤਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਿਮਾਮਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵਿਖਲਾਈ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
