Leviticus 7:14
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੁਗਾਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ, ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਟੁਕੜਾ ਉਸ ਜਾਜਕ ਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸੁੱਖ-ਸਾਂਦ ਦੀ ਭੇਟ ਦਾ ਖੂਨ ਡੋਲ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ।

Leviticus 6:26
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜਾਜਕ ਪਾਪ ਦੀ ਭੇਟ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਵਿਹੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਥਾਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਖਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਖੁਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਖਾਸ ਸੁਗਾਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਲੋਕ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸੁਗਾਤਾ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੁਗਾਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹੋ। ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਰਹਿਣਗੀਆਂ।
Numbers 18:24
ਪਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੀ ਹਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦਸਵੰਧ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੇਣਗੇ। ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਦਸਵੰਧ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। ਇਹੀ ਕਾਰਣ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਆਖੇ ਹਨ: ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।”

ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸੁਗਾਤਾਂ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ, ਜਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
