Jeremiah 34:8-21 in Punjabi

8 This is the word that came unto Jeremiah from the Lord, after that the king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people which were at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty unto them;

9 That every man should let his manservant, and every man his maidservant, being an Hebrew or an Hebrewess, go free; that none should serve himself of them, to wit, of a Jew his brother.

10 Now when all the princes, and all the people, which had entered into the covenant, heard that every one should let his manservant, and every one his maidservant, go free, that none should serve themselves of them any more, then they obeyed, and let them go.

11 But afterward they turned, and caused the servants and the handmaids, whom they had let go free, to return, and brought them into subjection for servants and for handmaids.

12 Therefore the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,

13 Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel; I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondmen, saying,

14 At the end of seven years let ye go every man his brother an Hebrew, which hath been sold unto thee; and when he hath served thee six years, thou shalt let him go free from thee: but your fathers hearkened not unto me, neither inclined their ear.

15 And ye were now turned, and had done right in my sight, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbour; and ye had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name:

16 But ye turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom ye had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return, and brought them into subjection, to be unto you for servants and for handmaids.

17 Therefore thus saith the Lord; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the Lord, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

18 And I will give the men that have transgressed my covenant, which have not performed the words of the covenant which they had made before me, when they cut the calf in twain, and passed between the parts thereof,

19 The princes of Judah, and the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land, which passed between the parts of the calf;

20 I will even give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life: and their dead bodies shall be for meat unto the fowls of the heaven, and to the beasts of the earth.

21 And Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes will I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life, and into the hand of the king of Babylon’s army, which are gone up from you.

8 ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਤੋਂੜਦੇ ਹਨ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਬਰਾਨੀ ਗੁਲਾਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਜਦੋਂ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਮਿਲਿਆ।

9 ਹਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਬਰਾਨੀ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਸੀ। ਸਾਰੇ ਇਬਰਾਨੀ ਮਰਦ ਅਤੇ ਔਰਤ ਗੁਲਾਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਣਾ ਸੀ। ਕਿਸੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਬਣਾਕੇ ਰੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਹੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
That every man should let his manservant, and every man his maidservant, being an Hebrew or an Hebrewess, go free; that none should serve himself of them, to wit, of a Jew his brother.

10 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ। ਹਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਰਦ ਅਤੇ ਔਰਤ ਗੁਲਾਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਬਣਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਸੀ। ਹਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਮੰਨ ਗਿਆ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ।
Now when all the princes, and all the people, which had entered into the covenant, heard that every one should let his manservant, and every one his maidservant, go free, that none should serve themselves of them any more, then they obeyed, and let them go.

11 ਪਰ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਮਗਰੋਂ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਸਨ, ਆਪਣੇ ਇਰਾਦੇ ਬਦਲ ਲੇ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ।
But afterward they turned, and caused the servants and the handmaids, whom they had let go free, to return, and brought them into subjection for servants and for handmaids.

12 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਮਿਲਿਆ:
Therefore the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,

13 “ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: ‘ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਸਨ। ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel; I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondmen, saying,

14 ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ: “ਹਰ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਖੀਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਬਰਾਨੀ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਾਸ ਕੋਈ ਇਬਰਾਨੀ ਸਾਬੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਹੱਥ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੀ ਛੇ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।” ਪਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
At the end of seven years let ye go every man his brother an Hebrew, which hath been sold unto thee; and when he hath served thee six years, thou shalt let him go free from thee: but your fathers hearkened not unto me, neither inclined their ear.

15 ਕੁਝ ਸਮਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਰਾਦੇ ਬਦਲ ਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹਿਆ ਜੋ ਸਹੀ ਹੈ। ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਬਰਾਨੀ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜੋ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਸਨ। ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਸੱਦੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਇੱਕ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
And ye were now turned, and had done right in my sight, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbour; and ye had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name:

16 ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਤਸੀਁ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਬਦਲ ਲੇ ਹਨ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦਰਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ। ਇਹ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕੀਤਾ? ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਮਰਦ ਜਾਂ ਔਰਤ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਰੱਖ ਲਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਬਣ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।’

17 “ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: ‘ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਿਆ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਬਰਾਨੀ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ, ਮੈਂ “ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ” ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ। (ਮੈਂ “ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ” ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।) ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ, ਭੁੱਖਮਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ! ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸ਼ੈਅ ਬਣਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੈਭੀਤ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣਨਗੇ।
Therefore thus saith the Lord; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the Lord, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

18 ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਤੋੜਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਇਕਰਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ, ਫ਼ੜਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਵੱਛੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਬਣਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਦੋ ਹਿਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਟੁਕੜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰੋ ਗੁਜ਼ਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

19 ਇਹੀ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਛੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਹਿਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰੋ ਲੰਘੇ ਸਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ: ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ, ਰਾਜ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਦੇ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ, ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ।
The princes of Judah, and the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land, which passed between the parts of the calf;

20 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਓਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਾਸ਼ਾਂ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੁਰਾਕ ਬਣਨਗੀਆਂ।
I will even give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life: and their dead bodies shall be for meat unto the fowls of the heaven, and to the beasts of the earth.

21 ਮੈਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੋਵੇ।
And Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes will I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life, and into the hand of the king of Babylon’s army, which are gone up from you.
