ਤਾਂ ਹਾਕਮ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਬੋਲੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਖੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੀ ਹਨ।”
