  1. מַשְׂכִּ֗יל Maschil maśkîl לְאָ֫סָ֥ף of Asaph. ʾāsāp
  2. הַאֲזִ֣ינָה Give ear, ʾāzan עַ֭מִּי O my people, ʿam תּוֹרָתִ֑י my law: tôrâ הַטּ֥וּ incline nāṭâ אָ֝זְנְכֶ֗ם your ears ʾōzen לְאִמְרֵי to the words ʾēmer פִֽי׃ of my mouth. pe
  3. אֶפְתְּחָ֣ה I will open pātaḥ בְמָשָׁ֣ל in a parable: māšāl פִּ֑י my mouth pe אַבִּ֥יעָה I will utter nābaʿ חִ֝יד֗וֹת dark sayings ḥîdâ מִנִּי of min קֶֽדֶם׃ old: qedem
  4. אֲשֶׁ֣ר Which ʾăšer שָׁ֭מַעְנוּ we have heard šāmaʿ וַנֵּדָעֵ֑ם and known, yādaʿ וַ֝אֲבוֹתֵ֗ינוּ and our fathers ʾāb סִפְּרוּ have told us. sāpar לָֽנוּ׃
  5. לֹ֤א We will not lōʾ נְכַחֵ֨ד׀ hide kāḥad מִבְּנֵיהֶ֗ם from their children, bēn לְד֥וֹר to the generation dôr אַחֲר֗וֹן to come ʾaḥărôn מְֽ֭סַפְּרִים shewing sāpar תְּהִלּ֣וֹת the praises tĕhillâ יְהוָ֑ה of the Lord, yĕhōwâ וֶעֱזוּז֥וֹ and his strength, ʿĕzûz וְ֝נִפְלְאֹתָ֗יו and his wonderful works pālāʾ אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ʾăšer עָשָֽׂה׃ he hath done. ʿāśâ
  6. וַיָּ֤קֶם For he established qûm עֵד֨וּת׀ a testimony ʿēdût בְּֽיַעֲקֹ֗ב in Jacob, yaʿăqōb וְתוֹרָה֮ a law tôrâ שָׂ֤ם and appointed śûm בְּיִשְׂרָ֫אֵ֥ל in Israel, yiśrāʾēl אֲשֶׁ֣ר which ʾăšer צִ֭וָּה he commanded ṣāwâ אֶת ʾēt אֲבוֹתֵ֑ינוּ our fathers, ʾāb לְ֝הוֹדִיעָ֗ם that they should make them known yādaʿ לִבְנֵיהֶֽם׃ to their children: bēn
  7. לְמַ֤עַן That maʿan יֵדְע֨וּ׀ might know yādaʿ דּ֣וֹר the generation dôr אַ֭חֲרוֹן to come ʾaḥărôn בָּנִ֣ים the children bēn יִוָּלֵ֑דוּ should be born; yālad יָ֝קֻ֗מוּ should arise qûm וִֽיסַפְּר֥וּ and declare sāpar לִבְנֵיהֶֽם׃ to their children: bēn
  8. וְיָשִׂ֥ימוּ That they might set śûm בֵֽאלֹהִ֗ים in God, ʾĕlōhîm כִּ֫סְלָ֥ם their hope kesel וְלֹ֣א and not lōʾ יִ֭שְׁכְּחוּ forget šākaḥ מַֽעַלְלֵי the works maʿălāl אֵ֑ל of God, ʾēl וּמִצְוֹתָ֥יו his commandments: miṣwâ יִנְצֹֽרוּ׃ but keep nāṣar
  9. וְלֹ֤א And might not lōʾ יִהְי֨וּ׀ be hāyâ כַּאֲבוֹתָ֗ם as their fathers, ʾāb דּוֹר֮ generation; dôr סוֹרֵ֪ר a stubborn sārar וּמֹ֫רֶ֥ה and rebellious mārâ דּ֭וֹר a generation dôr לֹא aright, lōʾ הֵכִ֣ין set kûn לִבּ֑וֹ not their heart lēb וְלֹא was not lōʾ נֶאֶמְנָ֖ה stedfast ʾāman אֶת with ʾēt אֵ֣ל God. ʾēl רוּחֽוֹ׃ and whose spirit rûaḥ
  10. בְּֽנֵי The children bēn אֶפְרַ֗יִם of Ephraim, ʾeprayim נוֹשְׁקֵ֥י armed, nāšaq רוֹמֵי carrying rāmâ קָ֑שֶׁת bows, qešet הָ֝פְכ֗וּ turned back hāpak בְּי֣וֹם in the day yôm קְרָֽב׃ of battle. qĕrāb
  11. לֹ֣א not lōʾ שָׁ֭מְרוּ They kept šāmar בְּרִ֣ית the covenant bĕrît אֱלֹהִ֑ים of God, ʾĕlōhîm וּ֝בְתוֹרָת֗וֹ in his law; tôrâ מֵאֲנ֥וּ and refused māʾēn לָלֶֽכֶת׃ to walk hālak
  12. וַיִּשְׁכְּח֥וּ And forgat šākaḥ עֲלִילוֹתָ֑יו his works, ʿălîlâ וְ֝נִפְלְאוֹתָ֗יו and his wonders pālāʾ אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ʾăšer הֶרְאָֽם׃ he had shewed them. rāʾâ
  13. נֶ֣גֶד he in the sight neged אֲ֭בוֹתָם of their fathers, ʾāb עָ֣שָׂה did ʿāśâ פֶ֑לֶא Marvellous things peleʾ בְּאֶ֖רֶץ in the land ʾereṣ מִצְרַ֣יִם of Egypt, miṣrayim שְׂדֵה the field śāde צֹֽעַן׃ of Zoan. ṣōʿan
  14. בָּ֣קַע He divided bāqaʿ יָ֭ם the sea, yām וַיַּֽעֲבִירֵ֑ם and caused them to pass through; ʿābar וַֽיַּצֶּב to stand nāṣab מַ֥יִם and he made the waters mayim כְּמוֹ as kĕmô נֵֽד׃ an heap. nēd
  15. וַיַּנְחֵ֣ם also he led nāḥâ בֶּעָנָ֣ן them with a cloud, ʿānān יוֹמָ֑ם In the daytime yômām וְכָל and all kōl הַ֝לַּ֗יְלָה the night layil בְּא֣וֹר with a light ʾôr אֵֽשׁ׃ of fire. ʾēš
  16. יְבַקַּ֣ע He clave bāqaʿ צֻ֭רִים the rocks ṣûr בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר in the wilderness, midbār וַ֝יַּ֗שְׁקְ and gave drink šāqâ כִּתְהֹמ֥וֹת depths. tĕhôm רַבָּֽה׃ as the great rab
  17. וַיּוֹצִ֣א He brought yāṣāʾ נוֹזְלִ֣ים streams nāzal מִסָּ֑לַע also out of the rock, selaʿ וַיּ֖וֹרֶד to run down yārad כַּנְּהָר֣וֹת like rivers. nāhār מָֽיִם׃ and caused waters mayim
  18. וַיּוֹסִ֣יפוּ more yāsap ע֭וֹד yet ʿôd לַחֲטֹא And they sinned ḥāṭāʾ ל֑וֹ לַֽמְר֥וֹת against him by provoking mārâ עֶ֝לְי֗וֹן the most High ʿelyôn בַּצִּיָּֽה׃ in the wilderness. ṣiyyâ
  19. וַיְנַסּוּ And they tempted nāsâ אֵ֥ל God ʾēl בִּלְבָבָ֑ם in their heart lēbāb לִֽשְׁאָל by asking šāʾal אֹ֥כֶל meat ʾōkel לְנַפְשָֽׁם׃ for their lust. nepeš
  20. וַֽיְדַבְּר֗וּ Yea, they spake dābar בֵּֽאלֹ֫הִ֥ים against God; ʾĕlōhîm אָ֭מְרוּ they said, ʾāmar הֲי֣וּכַל Can yākōl אֵ֑ל God ʾēl לַעֲרֹ֥ךְ furnish ʿārak שֻׁ֝לְחָ֗ן a table šulḥān בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ in the wilderness? midbār
  21. הֵ֤ן Behold, hēn הִכָּה he smote nākâ צ֨וּר׀ the rock, ṣûr וַיָּז֣וּבוּ gushed out, zûb מַיִם֮ that the waters mayim וּנְחָלִ֪ים and the streams naḥal יִ֫שְׁטֹ֥פוּ overflowed; šāṭap הֲגַם also? gam לֶ֭חֶם bread leḥem י֣וּכַל can yākōl תֵּ֑ת he give nātan אִם can ʾim יָכִ֖ין he provide kûn שְׁאֵ֣ר flesh šĕʾēr לְעַמּֽוֹ׃ for his people? ʿam
  22. לָכֵ֤ן׀ Therefore kēn שָׁמַ֥ע heard šāmaʿ יְהוָ֗ה the Lord yĕhōwâ וַֽיִּתְעַבָּ֥ר and was wroth: ʿābar וְ֭אֵשׁ so a fire ʾēš נִשְּׂקָ֣ה was kindled nāśaq בְיַעֲקֹ֑ב against Jacob, yaʿăqōb וְגַם also gam אַ֝֗ף and anger ʾap עָלָ֥ה came up ʿālâ בְיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ against Israel; yiśrāʾēl
  23. כִּ֤י Because לֹ֣א not lōʾ הֶ֭אֱמִינוּ they believed ʾāman בֵּאלֹהִ֑ים in God, ʾĕlōhîm וְלֹ֥א not lōʾ בָ֝טְח֗וּ and trusted bāṭaḥ בִּֽישׁוּעָתֽוֹ׃ in his salvation: yĕšûʿâ
  24. וַיְצַ֣ו Though he had commanded ṣāwâ שְׁחָקִ֣ים the clouds šaḥaq מִמָּ֑עַל from above, maʿal וְדַלְתֵ֖י the doors delet שָׁמַ֣יִם of heaven, šāmayim פָּתָֽח׃ and opened pātaḥ
  25. וַיַּמְטֵ֬ר And had rained down māṭar עֲלֵיהֶ֣ם upon ʿal מָ֣ן manna mān לֶאֱכֹ֑ל them to eat, ʾākal וּדְגַן them of the corn dāgān שָׁ֝מַ֗יִם of heaven. šāmayim נָ֣תַן and had given nātan לָֽמוֹ׃
  26. לֶ֣חֶם food: leḥem אַ֭בִּירִים angels' ʾabbîr אָ֣כַל did eat ʾākal אִ֑ישׁ Man ʾîš צֵידָ֬ה them meat ṣêdâ שָׁלַ֖ח he sent šālaḥ לָהֶ֣ם hēm לָשֹֽׂבַע׃ to the full. śōbaʿ
  27. יַסַּ֣ע to blow nāsaʿ קָ֭דִים He caused an east wind qādîm בַּשָּׁמָ֑יִם in the heaven: šāmayim וַיְנַהֵ֖ג he brought in nāhag בְּעֻזּ֣וֹ and by his power ʿōz תֵימָֽן׃ the south wind. têmān
  28. וַיַּמְטֵ֬ר He rained māṭar עֲלֵיהֶ֣ם also upon ʿal כֶּעָפָ֣ר them as dust, ʿāpār שְׁאֵ֑ר flesh šĕʾēr וּֽכְח֥וֹל like as the sand ḥôl יַ֝מִּ֗ים of the sea: yām ע֣וֹף fowls ʿôp כָּנָֽף׃ and feathered kānāp
  29. וַ֭יַּפֵּל And he let fall nāpal בְּקֶ֣רֶב in the midst qereb מַחֲנֵ֑הוּ of their camp, maḥăne סָ֝בִ֗יב round about sābîb לְמִשְׁכְּנֹתָֽיו׃ their habitations. miškān
  30. וַיֹּאכְל֣וּ So they did eat, ʾākal וַיִּשְׂבְּע֣וּ filled: śābaʿ מְאֹ֑ד and were well mĕʾōd וְ֝תַֽאֲוָתָ֗ם them their own desire; taʾăwâ יָבִ֥א for he gave bôʾ לָהֶֽם׃ hēm
  31. לֹא They were not lōʾ זָר֥וּ estranged zûr מִתַּאֲוָתָ֑ם from their lust. taʾăwâ ע֝֗וֹד yet ʿôd אָכְלָ֥ם But while their meat ʾōkel בְּפִיהֶֽם׃ in their mouths, pe
  32. וְאַ֤ף The wrath ʾap אֱלֹהִ֨ים׀ of God ʾĕlōhîm עָ֘לָ֤ה came ʿālâ בָהֶ֗ם וַֽ֭יַּהֲרֹג upon them, and slew hārag בְּמִשְׁמַנֵּיהֶ֑ם the fattest mašmān וּבַחוּרֵ֖י the chosen bāḥûr יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל of Israel. yiśrāʾēl הִכְרִֽיעַ׃ of them, and smote down kāraʿ
  33. בְּכָל For all kōl זֹ֭את this zōt חָֽטְאוּ they sinned ḥāṭāʾ ע֑וֹד still, ʿôd וְלֹֽא not lōʾ הֶ֝אֱמִ֗ינוּ and believed ʾāman בְּנִפְלְאוֹתָֽיו׃ for his wondrous works. pālāʾ
  34. וַיְכַל did he consume kālâ בַּהֶ֥בֶל in vanity, hebel יְמֵיהֶ֑ם Therefore their days yôm וּ֝שְׁנוֹתָ֗ם and their years šāne בַּבֶּהָלָֽה׃ in trouble. behālâ
  35. אִם When ʾim הֲרָגָ֥ם he slew hārag וּדְרָשׁ֑וּהוּ them, then they sought dāraš וְ֝שָׁ֗בוּ him: and they returned šûb וְשִֽׁחֲרוּ and inquired early šāḥar אֵֽל׃ after God. ʾēl
  36. וַֽ֭יִּזְכְּרוּ And they remembered zākar כִּֽי that אֱלֹהִ֣ים God ʾĕlōhîm צוּרָ֑ם their rock, ṣûr וְאֵ֥ל God ʾēl עֶ֝לְי֗וֹן and the high ʿelyôn גֹּאֲלָֽם׃ their redeemer. gāʾal
  37. וַיְפַתּ֥וּהוּ Nevertheless they did flatter pātâ בְּפִיהֶ֑ם him with their mouth, pe וּ֝בִלְשׁוֹנָ֗ם unto him with their tongues. lāšôn יְכַזְּבוּ and they lied kāzab לֽוֹ׃
  38. וְ֭לִבָּם For their heart lēb לֹא lōʾ נָכ֣וֹן was not right kûn עִמּ֑וֹ with ʿim וְלֹ֥א him, neither lōʾ נֶ֝אֶמְנ֗וּ were they stedfast ʾāman בִּבְרִיתֽוֹ׃ in his covenant. bĕrît
  39. וְה֤וּא But he, hûʾ רַח֨וּם׀ full of compassion, raḥûm יְכַפֵּ֥ר forgave kāpar עָוֹן֮ iniquity, ʿāwōn וְֽלֹא not: lōʾ יַ֫שְׁחִ֥ית and destroyed šāḥat וְ֭הִרְבָּה yea, many time rābâ לְהָשִׁ֣יב a turned away, šûb אַפּ֑וֹ he his anger ʾap וְלֹֽא and did not lōʾ יָ֝עִיר stir up ʿûr כָּל all kōl חֲמָתֽוֹ׃ his wrath. ḥēmâ
  40. וַ֭יִּזְכֹּר For he remembered zākar כִּי that בָשָׂ֣ר flesh; bāśār הֵ֑מָּה they hēm ר֥וּחַ a wind rûaḥ ה֝וֹלֵ֗ךְ that passeth away, hālak וְלֹ֣א lōʾ יָשֽׁוּב׃ and cometh not again. šûb
  41. כַּ֭מָּה How oft יַמְר֣וּהוּ did they provoke mārâ בַמִּדְבָּ֑ר him in the wilderness, midbār יַ֝עֲצִיב֗וּהוּ grieve ʿāṣab בִּֽישִׁימֽוֹן׃ him in the desert! yĕšîmôn
  42. וַיָּשׁ֣וּבוּ Yea, they turned back šûb וַיְנַסּ֣וּ and tempted nāsâ אֵ֑ל God, ʾēl וּקְד֖וֹשׁ the Holy One qādôš יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל of Israel. yiśrāʾēl הִתְווּ׃ and limited tāwâ
  43. לֹא not lōʾ זָכְר֥וּ They remembered zākar אֶת ʾēt יָד֑וֹ his hand, yād י֝֗וֹם the day yôm אֲֽשֶׁר when ʾăšer פָּדָ֥ם he delivered pādâ מִנִּי them from min צָֽר׃ the enemy. ṣar
  44. אֲשֶׁר How ʾăšer שָׂ֣ם he had wrought śûm בְּ֭מִצְרַיִם in Egypt, miṣrayim אֹֽתוֹתָ֑יו his signs ʾôt וּ֝מוֹפְתָ֗יו and his wonders môpēt בִּשְׂדֵה in the field śāde צֹֽעַן׃ of Zoan: ṣōʿan
  45. וַיַּהֲפֹ֣ךְ And had turned hāpak לְ֭דָם into blood; dām יְאֹרֵיהֶ֑ם their rivers yĕʾōr וְ֝נֹזְלֵיהֶ֗ם and their floods, nāzal בַּל that they could not bal יִשְׁתָּיֽוּן׃ drink. šātâ
  46. יְשַׁלַּ֬ח He sent šālaḥ בָּהֶ֣ם עָ֭רֹב divers sorts of flies ʿārōb וַיֹּאכְלֵ֑ם among them, which devoured ʾākal וּ֝צְפַרְדֵּ֗עַ them; and frogs, ṣĕpardēaʿ וַתַּשְׁחִיתֵֽם׃ which destroyed them. šāḥat
  47. וַיִּתֵּ֣ן He gave nātan לֶחָסִ֣יל unto the caterpiller, ḥāsîl יְבוּלָ֑ם also their increase yĕbûl וִֽ֝יגִיעָ֗ם and their labour yĕgîaʿ לָאַרְבֶּֽה׃ unto the locust. ʾarbe
  48. יַהֲרֹ֣ג He destroyed hārag בַּבָּרָ֣ד with hail, bārād גַּפְנָ֑ם their vines gepen וְ֝שִׁקְמוֹתָ֗ם and their sycomore trees šiqmâ בַּֽחֲנָמַֽל׃ with frost. ḥănāmāl
  49. וַיַּסְגֵּ֣ר He gave up sāgar לַבָּרָ֣ד also to the hail, bārād בְּעִירָ֑ם their cattle bĕʿîr וּ֝מִקְנֵיהֶ֗ם and their flocks miqne לָרְשָׁפִֽים׃ to hot thunderbolts. rešep
  50. יְשַׁלַּח He cast šālaḥ בָּ֨ם׀ חֲר֬וֹן upon them the fierceness ḥārôn אַפּ֗וֹ of his anger, ʾap עֶבְרָ֣ה wrath, ʿebrâ וָזַ֣עַם and indignation, zaʿam וְצָרָ֑ה and trouble, ṣārâ מִ֝שְׁלַ֗חַת by sending mišlaḥat מַלְאֲכֵ֥י angels mălʾok רָעִֽים׃ evil raʿ
  51. יְפַלֵּ֥ס He made pālas נָתִ֗יב a way nātîb לְאַ֫פּ֥וֹ to his anger; ʾap לֹא not lōʾ חָשַׂ֣ךְ he spared ḥāśak מִמָּ֣וֶת from death, māwet נַפְשָׁ֑ם their soul nepeš וְ֝חַיָּתָ֗ם their life ḥay לַדֶּ֥בֶר over to the pestilence; deber הִסְגִּֽיר׃ but gave sāgar
  52. וַיַּ֣ךְ And smote nākâ כָּל all kōl בְּכ֣וֹר the firstborn bĕkôr בְּמִצְרָ֑יִם in Egypt; miṣrayim רֵאשִׁ֥ית the chief rēʾšît א֝וֹנִ֗ים of strength ʾôn בְּאָהֳלֵי in the tabernacles ʾōhel חָֽם׃ of Ham: ḥām
  53. וַיַּסַּ֣ע to go forth nāsaʿ כַּצֹּ֣אן like sheep, ṣōn עַמּ֑וֹ But made his own people ʿam וַֽיְנַהֲגֵ֥ם and guided nāhag כַּ֝עֵ֗דֶר like a flock. ʿēder בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ them in the wilderness midbār
  54. וַיַּנְחֵ֣ם And he led nāḥâ לָ֭בֶטַח them on safely, beṭaḥ וְלֹ֣א not: lōʾ פָחָ֑דוּ so that they feared pāḥad וְאֶת ʾēt א֝וֹיְבֵיהֶ֗ם their enemies. ʾōyēb כִּסָּ֥ה overwhelmed kāsâ הַיָּֽם׃ but the sea yām
  55. וַ֭יְבִיאֵם And he brought bôʾ אֶל them to ʾēl גְּב֣וּל the border gĕbûl קָדְשׁ֑וֹ of his sanctuary, qōdeš הַר mountain, har זֶ֝֗ה this ze קָנְתָ֥ה had purchased. qānâ יְמִינֽוֹ׃ his right hand yāmîn
  56. וַיְגָ֤רֶשׁ He cast out gāraš מִפְּנֵיהֶ֨ם׀ also before pānîm גּוֹיִ֗ם the heathen gôy וַֽ֭יַּפִּילֵם them, and divided nāpal בְּחֶ֣בֶל by line, ḥebel נַחֲלָ֑ה them an inheritance naḥălâ וַיַּשְׁכֵּ֥ן to dwell šākan בְּ֝אָהֳלֵיהֶ֗ם in their tents. ʾōhel שִׁבְטֵ֥י and made the tribes šēbeṭ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel yiśrāʾēl
  57. וַיְנַסּ֣וּ Yet they tempted nāsâ וַ֭יַּמְרוּ and provoked mārâ אֶת ʾēt אֱלֹהִ֣ים God, ʾĕlōhîm עֶלְי֑וֹן the most high ʿelyôn וְ֝עֵדוֹתָ֗יו his testimonies: ʿēdâ לֹ֣א not lōʾ שָׁמָֽרוּ׃ and kept šāmar
  58. וַיִּסֹּ֣גוּ But turned back, sûg וַֽ֭יִּבְגְּדוּ and dealt unfaithfully bāgad כַּאֲבוֹתָ֑ם like their fathers: ʾāb נֶ֝הְפְּכ֗וּ they were turned aside hāpak כְּקֶ֣שֶׁת bow. qešet רְמִיָּֽה׃ like a deceitful rĕmiyyâ
  59. וַיַּכְעִיס֥וּהוּ For they provoked him to anger kaʿas בְּבָמוֹתָ֑ם with their high places, bāmâ וּ֝בִפְסִילֵיהֶ֗ם with their graven images. pĕsîl יַקְנִיאֽוּהוּ׃ and moved him to jealousy qānāʾ
  60. שָׁמַ֣ע heard šāmaʿ אֱ֭לֹהִים When God ʾĕlōhîm וַֽיִּתְעַבָּ֑ר he was wroth, ʿābar וַיִּמְאַ֥ס abhorred māʾas מְ֝אֹ֗ד and greatly mĕʾōd בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Israel: yiśrāʾēl
  61. וַ֭יִּטֹּשׁ So that he forsook nāṭaš מִשְׁכַּ֣ן the tabernacle miškān שִׁל֑וֹ of Shiloh, šîlō אֹ֝֗הֶל the tent ʾōhel שִׁכֵּ֥ן he placed šākan בָּאָדָֽם׃ among men; ʾādām
  62. וַיִּתֵּ֣ן And delivered nātan לַשְּׁבִ֣י into captivity, šĕbî עֻזּ֑וֹ his strength ʿōz וְֽתִפְאַרְתּ֥וֹ and his glory tipʾārâ בְיַד hand. yād צָֽר׃ into the enemy's ṣar
  63. וַיַּסְגֵּ֣ר He gave sāgar לַחֶ֣רֶב over also unto the sword; ḥereb עַמּ֑וֹ his people ʿam וּ֝בְנַחֲלָת֗וֹ with his inheritance. naḥălâ הִתְעַבָּֽר׃ and was wroth ʿābar
  64. בַּחוּרָ֥יו their young men; bāḥûr אָֽכְלָה consumed ʾākal אֵ֑שׁ The fire ʾēš וּ֝בְתוּלֹתָ֗יו and their maidens bĕtûlâ לֹ֣א were not lōʾ הוּלָּֽלוּ׃ given to marriage. hālal
  65. כֹּ֭הֲנָיו Their priests kōhēn בַּחֶ֣רֶב by the sword; ḥereb נָפָ֑לוּ fell nāpal וְ֝אַלְמְנֹתָ֗יו and their widows ʾalmānâ לֹ֣א made no lōʾ תִבְכֶּֽינָה׃ lamentation. bākâ
  66. וַיִּקַ֖ץ awaked yāqaṣ כְּיָשֵׁ֥ן׀ as one out of sleep, yāšēn אֲדֹנָ֑י Then the Lord ʾădōnāy כְּ֝גִבּ֗וֹר like a mighty man gibbôr מִתְרוֹנֵ֥ן that shouteth rānan מִיָּֽיִן׃ by reason of wine. yayin
  67. וַיַּךְ And he smote nākâ צָרָ֥יו his enemies ṣar אָח֑וֹר in the hinder parts: ʾāḥôr חֶרְפַּ֥ת reproach. ḥerpâ ע֝וֹלָ֗ם them to a perpetual ʿôlām נָ֣תַן he put nātan לָֽמוֹ׃
  68. וַ֭יִּמְאַס Moreover he refused māʾas בְּאֹ֣הֶל the tabernacle ʾōhel יוֹסֵ֑ף of Joseph, yôsēp וּֽבְשֵׁ֥בֶט the tribe šēbeṭ אֶ֝פְרַ֗יִם of Ephraim: ʾeprayim לֹ֣א not lōʾ בָחָֽר׃ and chose bāḥar
  69. וַ֭יִּבְחַר But chose bāḥar אֶת ʾēt שֵׁ֣בֶט the tribe šēbeṭ יְהוּדָ֑ה of Judah, yĕhûdâ אֶֽת ʾēt הַ֥ר the mount har צִ֝יּ֗וֹן Zion ṣiyyôn אֲשֶׁ֣ר which ʾăšer אָהֵֽב׃ he loved. ʾāhab
  70. וַיִּ֣בֶן And he built bānâ כְּמוֹ like kĕmô רָ֭מִים high rûm מִקְדָּשׁ֑וֹ his sanctuary miqdoš כְּ֝אֶ֗רֶץ like the earth ʾereṣ יְסָדָ֥הּ which he hath established yāsad לְעוֹלָֽם׃ for ever. ʿôlām
  71. וַ֭יִּבְחַר He chose bāḥar בְּדָוִ֣ד David dāwid עַבְדּ֑וֹ also his servant, ʿebed וַ֝יִּקָּחֵ֗הוּ and took lāqaḥ מִֽמִּכְלְאֹ֥ת him from the sheepfolds: miklāʾâ צֹֽאן׃ ṣōn
  72. מֵאַחַ֥ר From following ʾaḥar עָל֗וֹת the ewes great with young ʿûl הֱ֫בִיא֥וֹ he brought bôʾ לִ֭רְעוֹת him to feed rāʿâ בְּיַעֲקֹ֣ב Jacob yaʿăqōb עַמּ֑וֹ his people, ʿam וּ֝בְיִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל and Israel yiśrāʾēl נַחֲלָתֽוֹ׃ his inheritance. naḥălâ
  73. וַ֭יִּרְעֵם So he fed rāʿâ כְּתֹ֣ם them according to the integrity tōm לְבָב֑וֹ of his heart; lēbāb וּבִתְבוּנ֖וֹת them by the skilfulness tābûn כַּפָּ֣יו of his hands. kap יַנְחֵֽם׃ and guided nāḥâ
