  1. לְדָוִ֗ד of David, dāwid מַ֫שְׂכִּ֥יל Maschil. maśkîl
  2. אַשְׁרֵ֥י Blessed ʾešer נְֽשׂוּי forgiven, nāśāʾ פֶּ֗שַׁע transgression pešaʿ כְּס֣וּי covered. kāsâ חֲטָאָֽה׃ sin ḥăṭāʾâ
  3. אַ֥שְֽׁרֵי Blessed ʾešer אָדָ֗ם the man ʾādām לֹ֤א not lōʾ יַחְשֹׁ֬ב imputeth ḥāšab יְהוָ֣ה unto whom the Lord yĕhōwâ ל֣וֹ עָוֹ֑ן iniquity, ʿāwōn וְאֵ֖ין no ʾayin בְּרוּח֣וֹ and in whose spirit rûaḥ רְמִיָּה׃ guile. rĕmiyyâ
  4. כִּֽי When הֶ֭חֱרַשְׁתִּי I kept silence, ḥāraš בָּל֣וּ waxed old bālâ עֲצָמָ֑י my bones ʿeṣem בְּ֝שַׁאֲגָתִ֗י through my roaring šĕʾāgâ כָּל all kōl הַיּֽוֹם׃ the day long. yôm
  5. כִּ֤י׀ For יוֹמָ֣ם day yômām וָלַיְלָה֮ and night layil תִּכְבַּ֥ד was heavy kābad עָלַ֗י upon ʿal יָ֫דֶ֥ךָ thy hand yād נֶהְפַּ֥ךְ is turned hāpak לְשַׁדִּ֑י me: my moisture lĕšad בְּחַרְבֹ֖נֵי into the drought ḥărābôn קַ֣יִץ of summer. qayiṣ סֶֽלָה׃ Selah. selâ
  6. חַטָּאתִ֨י my sin ḥaṭṭāʾâ אוֹדִ֪יעֲךָ֡ I acknowledged yādaʿ וַעֲוֺ֘נִ֤י unto thee, and mine iniquity ʿāwōn לֹֽא have I not lōʾ כִסִּ֗יתִי hid. kāsâ אָמַ֗רְתִּי I said, ʾāmar אוֹדֶ֤ה I will confess yādâ עֲלֵ֣י ʿal פְ֭שָׁעַי my transgressions pešaʿ לַיהוָ֑ה unto the Lord; yĕhōwâ וְאַתָּ֨ה and thou ʾattâ נָ֘שָׂ֤אתָ forgavest nāśāʾ עֲוֹ֖ן the iniquity ʿāwōn חַטָּאתִ֣י of my sin. ḥaṭṭāʾâ סֶֽלָה׃ Selah. selâ
  7. עַל For ʿal זֹ֡את this zōt יִתְפַּלֵּ֬ל pray pālal כָּל shall every kōl חָסִ֨יד׀ one that is godly ḥāsîd אֵלֶיךָ֮ unto ʾēl לְעֵ֪ת thee in a time ʿēt מְ֫צֹ֥א when thou mayest be found: māṣāʾ רַ֗ק surely raq לְ֭שֵׁטֶף in the floods šeṭep מַ֣יִם waters mayim רַבִּ֑ים of great rab אֵ֝לָ֗יו unto him. ʾēl לֹ֣א they shall not lōʾ יַגִּֽיעוּ׃ come nigh nāgaʿ
  8. אַתָּ֤ה׀ Thou ʾattâ סֵ֥תֶר my hiding place; sēter לִי֮ מִצַּ֪ר me from trouble; ṣar תִּ֫צְּרֵ֥נִי thou shalt preserve nāṣar רָנֵּ֥י me about with songs rōn פַלֵּ֑ט of deliverance. pallēṭ תְּס֖וֹבְבֵ֣נִי thou shalt compass sābab סֶֽלָה׃ Selah. selâ
  9. אַשְׂכִּֽילְךָ֙׀ I will instruct śākal וְֽאוֹרְךָ֗ thee and teach yārâ בְּדֶֽרֶךְ thee in the way derek ז֥וּ which תֵלֵ֑ךְ thou shalt go: hālak אִֽיעֲצָ֖ה I will guide yāʿaṣ עָלֶ֣יךָ ʿal עֵינִֽי׃ thee with mine eye. ʿayin
  10. אַל ye not ʾal תִּֽהְי֤וּ׀ Be hāyâ כְּס֥וּס as the horse, sûs כְּפֶרֶד֮ as the mule, pered אֵ֤ין have no ʾayin הָ֫בִ֥ין understanding: bîn בְּמֶֽתֶג with bit meteg וָרֶ֣סֶן and bridle, resen עֶדְי֣וֹ whose mouth ʿădî לִבְל֑וֹם must be held in bālam בַּ֝֗ל lest bal קְרֹ֣ב they come near qārab אֵלֶֽיךָ׃ unto thee. ʾēl
  11. רַבִּ֥ים Many rab מַכְאוֹבִ֗ים sorrows makʾōb לָרָ֫שָׁ֥ע to the wicked: rāšāʿ וְהַבּוֹטֵ֥חַ but he that trusteth bāṭaḥ בַּיהוָ֑ה in the Lord, yĕhōwâ חֶ֝֗סֶד mercy ḥēsēd יְסוֹבְבֶֽנּוּ׃ shall compass him about. sābab
  12. שִׂמְח֬וּ Be glad śāmaḥ בַֽיהוָ֣ה in the Lord, yĕhōwâ וְ֭גִילוּ and rejoice, gîl צַדִּיקִ֑ים ye righteous: ṣaddîq וְ֝הַרְנִ֗ינוּ and shout for joy, rānan כָּל all kōl יִשְׁרֵי upright yāšār לֵֽב׃ in heart. lēb
