אַנְשֵׁי men ʾĕnôš רָ֭ע Evil raʿ לֹא not lōʾ יָבִ֣ינוּ understand bîn מִשְׁפָּ֑ט judgment: mišpāṭ וּמְבַקְשֵׁ֥י but they that seek bāqaš יְ֝הוָ֗ה the Lord yĕhōwâ יָבִ֥ינוּ understand bîn כֹֽל׃ all kōl

מֵסִ֣יר He that turneth away sûr אָ֭זְנוֹ his ear ʾōzen מִשְּׁמֹ֣עַ from hearing šāmaʿ תּוֹרָ֑ה the law, tôrâ גַּ֥ם even gam תְּ֝פִלָּת֗וֹ his prayer tĕpillâ תּוֹעֵבָֽה׃ abomination. tôʿēba

מַשְׁגֶּ֤ה to go astray šāgâ יְשָׁרִ֨ים׀ Whoso causeth the righteous yāšār בְּדֶ֥רֶךְ way, derek רָ֗ע in an evil raʿ בִּשְׁחוּת֥וֹ into his own pit: šĕḥût הֽוּא himself hûʾ יִפּ֑וֹל he shall fall nāpal וּ֝תְמִימִ֗ים but the upright tāmîm יִנְחֲלוּ in possession. nāḥal טֽוֹב׃ shall have good ṭôb

חָכָ֣ם wise ḥākām בְּ֭עֵינָיו in his own conceit; ʿayin אִ֣ישׁ man ʾîš עָשִׁ֑יר The rich ʿāšîr וְדַ֖ל but the poor dal מֵבִ֣ין that hath understanding bîn יַחְקְרֶֽנּוּ׃ searcheth him out. ḥāqar

בַּעֲלֹ֣ץ do rejoice, ʿālaṣ צַ֭דִּיקִים When righteous ṣaddîq רַבָּ֣ה great rab תִפְאָ֑רֶת glory: tipʾārâ וּבְק֥וּם rise, qûm רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים but when the wicked rāšāʿ יְחֻפַּ֥שׂ is hidden. ḥāpaś אָדָֽם׃ a man ʾādām

מְכַסֶּ֣ה He that covereth kāsâ פְ֭שָׁעָיו his sins pešaʿ לֹ֣א shall not lōʾ יַצְלִ֑יחַ prosper: ṣālaḥ וּמוֹדֶ֖ה but whoso confesseth yādâ וְעֹזֵ֣ב and forsaketh ʿāzab יְרֻחָֽם׃ shall have mercy. rāḥam

אַשְׁרֵ֣י Happy ʾešer אָ֭דָם the man ʾādām מְפַחֵ֣ד that feareth pāḥad תָּמִ֑יד alway: tāmîd וּמַקְשֶׁ֥ה but he that hardeneth qāšâ לִ֝בּ֗וֹ his heart lēb יִפּ֥וֹל shall fall nāpal בְּרָעָֽה׃ into mischief. raʿ

נָגִ֗יד The prince nāgîd חֲסַ֣ר that wanteth ḥāsēr תְּ֭בוּנוֹת understanding tābûn וְרַ֥ב also a great rab מַעֲשַׁקּ֑וֹת oppressor: maʿăšaqqâ שֹׂ֥נֵאי he that hateth śānēʾ בֶ֝֗צַע covetousness beṣaʿ יַאֲרִ֥יךְ shall prolong ʾārak יָמִֽים׃ days. yôm

הוֹלֵ֣ךְ Whoso walketh hālak תָּ֭מִים uprightly tāmîm יִוָּשֵׁ֑עַ shall be saved: yāšaʿ וְנֶעְקַ֥שׁ but perverse ʿāqaš דְּ֝רָכַ֗יִם ways derek יִפּ֥וֹל shall fall nāpal בְּאֶחָֽת׃ at once. ʾeḥād

עֹבֵ֣ד He that tilleth ʿābad אַ֭דְמָתוֹ his land ʾădāmâ יִֽשְׂבַּֽע shall have plenty śābaʿ לָ֑חֶם of bread: leḥem וּמְרַדֵּ֥ף but he that followeth rādap רֵ֝יקִ֗ים after vain rêq יִֽשְׂבַּֽע śābaʿ רִֽישׁ׃ shall have poverty enough. rêš

אִ֣ישׁ man ʾîš אֱ֭מוּנוֹת A faithful ʾĕmûnâ רַב shall abound rab בְּרָכ֑וֹת with blessings: bĕrākâ וְאָ֥ץ but he that maketh haste ʾûṣ לְ֝הַעֲשִׁ֗יר to be rich ʿāšar לֹ֣א shall not lōʾ יִנָּקֶֽה׃ be innocent. nāqâ

מ֘וֹכִ֤יחַ He that rebuketh yākaḥ אָדָ֣ם a man ʾādām אַ֭חֲרַי afterwards ʾaḥar חֵ֣ן more favour ḥēn יִמְצָ֑א shall find māṣāʾ מִֽמַּחֲלִ֥יק than he that flattereth ḥālaq לָשֽׁוֹן׃ with the tongue. lāšôn

בּוֹטֵ֣חַ that trusteth bāṭaḥ בְּ֭לִבּוֹ in his own heart lēb ה֣וּא He hûʾ כְסִ֑יל is a fool: kĕsîl וְהוֹלֵ֥ךְ but whoso walketh hālak בְּ֝חָכְמָ֗ה wisely, ḥokmâ ה֣וּא he hûʾ יִמָּלֵֽט׃ shall be delivered. mālaṭ

נוֹתֵ֣ן He that giveth nātan לָ֭רָשׁ unto the poor rûš אֵ֣ין shall not ʾayin מַחְס֑וֹר lack: maḥsôr וּמַעְלִ֥ים but he that hideth ʿālam עֵ֝ינָ֗יו his eyes ʿayin רַב shall have many rab מְאֵרֽוֹת׃ a curse. mĕʾērâ
