दाऊद एक अगमवक्ता थिए अनि परमेश्वरले भन्नु भएका कुराहरू जान्दथे। परमेश्वरले दाऊदलाई वचन दिनु भएको थियो कि उनकै परिवारबाट कुनै एकजनालाई दाऊद जस्तै राजा बनाउनेछु भनी।
