Matthew 14 in Tamil

1 அக்காலத்தில், காற்பங்கு தேசாதிபதியாகிய ஏரோது இயேசுவின் கீர்த்தியைக் கேள்விப்பட்டு, At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,

2 தன் ஊழியக்காரரை நோக்கி: இவன் யோவான்ஸ்நானன்; இவன் மரித்தோரிலிருந்து எழுந்தான்; ஆகையால், இவனிடத்தில் பலத்த செய்கைகள் விளங்குகிறது என்றான். And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.

3 ஏரோது தன் சகோதரனாகிய பிலிப்புவின் மனைவி ஏரோதியாளினிமித்தம் யோவானைப்பிடித்துக் கட்டி காவலில் வைத்திருந்தான். For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife.

4 ஏனெனில்: நீர் அவளை வைத்துக்கொள்வது நியாயமல்லவென்று யோவான் அவனுக்குச் சொல்லியிருந்தான். For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.

5 ஏரோது அவனைக் கொலைசெய்ய மனதாயிருந்தும், ஜனங்கள் அவனைத் தீர்க்கதரிசியென்று எண்ணினபடியால் அவர்களுக்குப் பயந்திருந்தான். And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.

6 அப்படியிருக்க ஏரோதின் ஜென்மநாள் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறபோது, ஏரோதியாளின் குமாரத்தி அவர்கள் நடுவே நடனம் பண்ணி ஏரோதைச் சந்தோஷப்படுத்தினாள். But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod.

7 அதினிமித்தம் அவன்: நீ எதைக்கேட்டாலும் தருவேன் என்று அவளுக்கு ஆணையிட்டு வாக்குக்கொடுத்தான். Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask.

8 அவள் தன் தாயினால் ஏவப்பட்டபடியே: யோவான்ஸ்நானனுடைய தலையை இங்கே ஒரு தாலத்திலே எனக்குத் தாரும் என்று கேட்டாள். And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger.

9 ராஜா துக்கமடைந்தான். ஆகிலும் ஆணையினிமித்தமும், பந்தியில் கூட இருந்தவர்களினிமித்தமும், அதைக் கொடுக்கக் கட்டளையிட்டு, And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her.

10 ஆள் அனுப்பி, காவற்கூடத்திலே யோவானைச் சிரச்சேதம்பண்ணுவித்தான். And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.

11 அவனுடைய சிரசை ஒரு தாலத்திலே கொண்டுவந்து, சிறு பெண்ணுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்கள்; அவள் அதைத் தன் தாயினிடத்திலே கொண்டு போனாள். And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother.

12 அவனுடைய சீஷர்கள் வந்து உடலை எடுத்து அடக்கம்பண்ணி, பின்பு போய் அந்தச் சங்கதியை இயேசுவுக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள். And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.

13 இயேசு அதைக்கேட்டு அவ்விடம் விட்டு, படவில் ஏறி, வனாந்தரமான ஒரு இடத்துக்குப் போனார். ஜனங்கள் அதைக் கேள்விப்பட்டு, பட்டணங்களிலிருந்து கால்நடையாய் அவரிடத்திற்குப் போனார்கள். When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.

14 இயேசு வந்து, திரளான ஜனங்களைக் கண்டு, அவர்கள் மேல் மனதுருகி, அவர்களில் வியாதியஸ்தர்களாயிருந்தவர்களைச் சொஸ்தமாக்கினார். And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

15 சாயங்காலமானபோது, அவருடைய சீஷர்கள் அவரிடத்தில் வந்து: இது வனாந்தரமான இடம், நேரமுமாயிற்று; ஜனங்கள் கிராமங்களுக்குப் போய்த் தங்களுக்குப் போஜனபதார்த்தங்களைக் கொள்ளும்படி அவர்களை அனுப்பிவிடவேண்டும் என்றார்கள். And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.

16 இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: அவர்கள் போகவேண்டியதில்லை; நீங்களே அவர்களுக்குப் போஜனம் கொடுங்கள் என்றார். But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.

17 அதற்கு அவர்கள்: இங்கே எங்களிடத்தில் ஐந்து அப்பமும் இரண்டு மீன்களுமேயல்லாமல், வேறொன்றும் இல்லை என்றார்கள். And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.

18 அவைகளை என்னிடத்தில் கொண்டுவாருங்கள் என்றார். He said, Bring them hither to me.

19 அப்பொழுது, அவர் ஜனங்களைப் புல்லின்மேல் பந்தியிருக்கக் கட்டளையிட்டு, அந்த ஐந்து அப்பங்களையும், அந்த இரண்டு மீன்களையும் எடுத்து, வானத்தை அண்ணாந்து பார்த்து, ஆசீர்வதித்து, அப்பங்களைப் பிட்டுச் சீஷர்களிடத்தில் கொடுத்தார்; சீஷர்கள் ஜனங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்கள். And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

20 எல்லாரும் சாப்பிட்டு திருப்தியடைந்தார்கள்; மீதியான துணிக்கைகளைப் பன்னிரண்டு கூடை நிறைய எடுத்தார்கள். And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.

21 ஸ்திரீகளும் பிள்ளைகளும் தவிர, சாப்பிட்ட புருஷர்கள் ஏறக்குறைய ஐயாயிரம்பேராயிருந்தார்கள். And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.

22 இயேசு ஜனங்களை அனுப்பிவிடுகையில், தம்முடைய சீஷர்கள் படவில் ஏறி, தமக்கு முன்னே அக்கரைக்குப்போகும்படி அவர்களைத் துரிதப்படுத்தினார். And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.

23 அவர் ஜனங்களை அனுப்பிவிட்டபின்பு, தனித்து ஜெபம்பண்ண ஒரு மலையின்மேல் ஏறி, சாயங்காலமானபோது அங்கே தனிமையாயிருந்தார். And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

24 அதற்குள்ளாக படவு நடுக்கடலிலே சேர்ந்து, எதிர்க்காற்றாயிருந்தபடியால் அலைகளினால் அலைவுபட்டது. But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.

25 இரவின் நாலாம் ஜாமத்திலே இயேசு கடலின்மேல் நடந்து, அவர்களிடத்திற்கு வந்தார். And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.

26 அவர் கடலின்மேல் நடக்கிறதைச் சீஷர்கள் கண்டு, கலக்கமடைந்து, ஆவேசம் என்று சொல்லி, பயத்தினால் அலறினார்கள். And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

27 உடனே இயேசு அவர்களோடே பேசி: திடன்கொள்ளுங்கள், நான்தான், பயப்படாதிருங்கள் என்றார். But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

28 பேதுரு அவரை நோக்கி: ஆண்டவரே! நீரேயானால் நான் ஜலத்தின்மேல் நடந்து உம்மிடத்தில் வரக்கட்டளையிடும் என்றான். And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

29 அதற்கு அவர்: வா என்றார். அப்பொழுது, பேதுரு படவை விட்டிறங்கி, இயேசுவினிடத்தில் போக கடலின்மேல் நடந்தான். And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

30 காற்று பலமாயிருக்கிறதைக் கண்டு, பயந்து அமிழ்ந்துபோகையில்: ஆண்டவரே என்னை இரட்சியும் என்று கூப்பிட்டான். But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

31 உடனே இயேசு கையை நீட்டி அவனைப்பிடித்து: அற்பவிசுவாசியே, ஏன் சந்தேகப்பட்டாய் என்றார். And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

32 அவர்கள் படவில் ஏறினவுடனே காற்று அமர்ந்தது. And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

33 அப்பொழுது, படவில் உள்ளவர்கள் வந்து: மெய்யாகவே நீர் தேவனுடைய குமாரன் என்று சொல்லி, அவரைப் பணிந்து கொண்டார்கள். Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

34 பின்பு, அவர்கள் கடலைக்கடந்து, கெனேசரேத்து நாட்டில் சேர்ந்தார்கள். And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.

35 அவ்விடத்து மனுஷர் அவரை இன்னார் என்று அறிந்து, சுற்றுப்புறமெங்கும் செய்தி அனுப்பி, பிணியாளிகளெல்லாரையும் அவரிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்து, And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;

36 அவருடைய வஸ்திரத்தின் ஓரத்தையாகிலும் அவர்கள் தொடும்படி உத்தரவாகவேண்டுமென்று அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டார்கள்; தொட்ட யாவரும் சொஸ்தமானார்கள். And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.

1 Akkaalaththil, kaarpangu thaesaathipathiyaakiya aerothu Yesuvin geerththiyaik kaelvippattu, At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,

2 Than ooliyakkaararai Nnokki: ivan yovaansnaanan; ivan mariththorilirunthu elunthaan; aakaiyaal, ivanidaththil palaththa seykaikal vilangukirathu entan. And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.

3 Aerothu than sakotharanaakiya pilippuvin manaivi aerothiyaalinimiththam yovaanaippitiththuk katti kaavalil vaiththirunthaan. For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife.

4 Aenenil: neer avalai vaiththukkolvathu niyaayamallaventu yovaan avanukkuch solliyirunthaan. For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.

5 Aerothu avanaik kolaiseyya manathaayirunthum, janangal avanaith theerkkatharisiyentu ennnninapatiyaal avarkalukkup payanthirunthaan. And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.

6 Appatiyirukka aerothin jenmanaal konndaadappadukirapothu, aerothiyaalin kumaaraththi avarkal naduvae nadanam pannnni aerothaich santhoshappaduththinaal. But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod.

7 Athinimiththam avan: nee ethaikkaettalum tharuvaen entu avalukku aannaiyittu vaakkukkoduththaan. Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask.

8 Aval than thaayinaal aevappattapatiyae: yovaansnaananutaiya thalaiyai ingae oru thaalaththilae enakkuth thaarum entu kaettal. And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger.

9 Raajaa thukkamatainthaan. Aakilum aannaiyinimiththamum, panthiyil kooda irunthavarkalinimiththamum, athaik kodukkak kattalaiyittu, And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her.

10 Aal anuppi, kaavarkoodaththilae yovaanaich sirachchaேthampannnuviththaan. And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.

11 Avanutaiya sirasai oru thaalaththilae konnduvanthu, siraு pennnukkuk koduththaarkal; aval athaith than thaayinidaththilae konndu ponaal. And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother.

12 Avanutaiya seesharkal vanthu udalai eduththu adakkampannnni, pinpu poy anthach sangathiyai Yesuvukku ariviththaarkal. And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.

13 Yesu athaikkaettu avvidam vittu, padavil aeri, vanaantharamaana oru idaththukkup ponaar. Janangal athaik kaelvippattu, pattanangalilirunthu kaalnataiyaay avaridaththirkup ponaarkal. When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.

14 Yesu vanthu, thiralaana janangalaik kanndu, avarkal mael manathuruki, avarkalil viyaathiyastharkalaayirunthavarkalaich sosthamaakkinaar. And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

15 Saayangaalamaanapothu, avarutaiya seesharkal avaridaththil vanthu: ithu vanaantharamaana idam, naeramumaayittaு; janangal kiraamangalukkup poyth thangalukkup pojanapathaarththangalaik kollumpati avarkalai anuppividavaenndum entarkal. And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.

16 Yesu avarkalai Nnokki: avarkal pokavaenntiyathillai; neengalae avarkalukkup pojanam kodungal entar. But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.

17 Atharku avarkal: ingae engalidaththil ainthu appamum iranndu meenkalumaeyallaamal, vaerontum illai entarkal. And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.

18 Avaikalai ennidaththil konnduvaarungal entar. He said, Bring them hither to me.

19 Appoluthu, avar janangalaip pullinmael panthiyirukkak kattalaiyittu, antha ainthu appangalaiyum, antha iranndu meenkalaiyum eduththu, vaanaththai annnnaanthu paarththu, aaseervathiththu, appangalaip pittuch seesharkalidaththil koduththaar; seesharkal janangalukkuk koduththaarkal. 21 Sthireekalum pillaikalum thavira, saappitta purusharkal aerakkuraiya aiyaayirampaeraayirunthaarkal. And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.

22 Yesu janangalai anuppividukaiyil, thammutaiya seesharkal padavil aeri, thamakku munnae akkaraikkuppokumpati avarkalaith thurithappaduththinaar. And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.

23 Avar janangalai anuppivittapinpu, thaniththu Jebampannna oru malaiyinmael aeri, saayangaalamaanapothu angae thanimaiyaayirunthaar. And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

24 Atharkullaaka padavu nadukkadalilae sernthu, ethirkkaattaாyirunthapatiyaal alaikalinaal alaivupattathu. But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.

25 Iravin naalaam jaamaththilae Yesu kadalinmael nadanthu, avarkalidaththirku vanthaar. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.

26 Avar kadalinmael nadakkirathaich seesharkal kanndu, kalakkamatainthu, aavaesam entu solli, payaththinaal alarinaarkal. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

27 Udanae Yesu avarkalotae paesi: thidankollungal, naanthaan, payappadaathirungal entar. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

28 Paethuru avarai Nnokki: aanndavarae! Neeraeyaanaal naan jalaththinmael nadanthu ummidaththil varakkattalaiyidum entan. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

29 Atharku avar: vaa entar. Appoluthu, paethuru padavai vittirangi, Yesuvinidaththil poka kadalinmael nadanthaan. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

30 Kaattaு palamaayirukkirathaik kanndu, payanthu amilnthupokaiyil: aanndavarae ennai iratchiyum entu kooppittan. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

31 Udanae Yesu kaiyai neetti avanaippitiththu: arpavisuvaasiyae, aen santhaekappattay entar. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

32 Avarkal padavil aerinavudanae kaattaு amarnthathu. And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

33 Appoluthu, padavil ullavarkal vanthu: meyyaakavae neer thaevanutaiya kumaaran entu solli, avaraip panninthu konndaarkal. Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

34 Pinpu, avarkal kadalaikkadanthu, kenaesaraeththu naattil sernthaarkal. And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.

35 Avvidaththu manushar avarai innaar entu arinthu, suttaுppuramengum seythi anuppi, pinniyaalikalellaaraiyum avaridaththil konnduvanthu, And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;

36 Avarutaiya vasthiraththin oraththaiyaakilum avarkal thodumpati uththaravaakavaenndumentu avarai vaenntikkonndaarkal; thotta yaavarum sosthamaanaarkal. And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.
