ആകയാൽ ഞാൻ സന്തോഷത്തെ പ്രശംസിച്ചു; തിന്നു കുടിച്ചു സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നതല്ലാതെ മനുഷ്യന്നു സൂര്യന്റെ കീഴിൽ മറ്റൊരു നന്മയുമില്ലല്ലോ; ദൈവം സൂര്യന്റെ കീഴിൽ അവന്നു നല്കുന്ന ആയുഷ്കാലത്തു അവന്റെ പ്രയത്നത്തിൽ അവനോടുകൂടെ നിലനില്ക്കുന്നതു ഇതുമാത്രമേയുള്ളു.

Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall abide with him of his labour the days of his life, which God giveth him under the sun.
