Ecclesiastes 8
1 ജ്ഞാനിക്കു തുല്യനായിട്ടു ആരുള്ളു? കാര്യത്തിന്റെ പൊരുൾ അറിയുന്നവർ ആർ? മനുഷ്യന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം അവന്റെ മുഖത്തെ പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ മുഖത്തെ കാഠിന്യം മാറിപ്പോകുന്നു.
2 ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ ചെയ്ത സത്യം ഓർത്തിട്ടു രാജാവിന്റെ കല്പന പ്രമാണിച്ചുകൊള്ളേണം എന്നു ഞാൻ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
3 നീ അവന്റെ സന്നിധി വിട്ടുപോകുവാൻ ബദ്ധപ്പെടരുതു; ഒരു ദുഷ്കാര്യത്തിലും ഇടപെടരുതു; അവൻ തനിക്കു ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളതൊക്കെയും ചെയ്യുമല്ലോ.
4 രാജകല്പന ബലമുള്ളതു; നീ എന്തു ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു അവനോടു ആർ ചോദിക്കും?
5 കല്പന പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവന്നു ഒരു ദോഷവും സംഭവിക്കയില്ല; ജ്ഞാനിയുടെ ഹൃദയം കാലത്തെയും ന്യായത്തെയും വിവേചിക്കുന്നു.
6 സകല കാര്യത്തിന്നും കാലവും ന്യായവും ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; മനുഷ്യന്റെ അരിഷ്ടത അവന്നു ഭാരമായിരിക്കുന്നു.
7 സംഭവിപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്നതു അവൻ അറിയുന്നില്ലല്ലോ; അതു എങ്ങനെ സംഭവിക്കും എന്നു അവനോടു ആർ അറിയിക്കും?
8 ആത്മാവിനെ തടുപ്പാൻ ആത്മാവിന്മേൽ അധികാരമുള്ള ഒരു മനുഷ്യനുമില്ല; മരണ ദിവസത്തിന്മേൽ അധികാരമുള്ളവനുമില്ല; യുദ്ധത്തിൽ സേവാവിമോചനവുമില്ല; ദുഷ്ടത ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെ വിടുവിക്കയുമില്ല.
9 ഇതൊക്കെയും ഞാൻ കണ്ടു; മനുഷ്യന്നു മനുഷ്യന്റെ മേൽ അവന്റെ ദോഷത്തിന്നായി അധികാരമുള്ള കാലത്തു സൂര്യന്നു കീഴെ നടക്കുന്ന സകലപ്രവൃത്തിയിലും ഞാൻ ദൃഷ്ടിവെച്ചു ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ അടക്കം ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടു വിശ്രാമം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നതും
10 നേർ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചവർ വിശുദ്ധസ്ഥലം വിട്ടുപോകേണ്ടിവരികയും പട്ടണത്തിൽ മറക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതും ഞാൻ കണ്ടു; അതും മായ അത്രേ.
1 Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man’s wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed.
2 I counsel thee to keep the king’s commandment, and that in regard of the oath of God.
3 Be not hasty to go out of his sight: stand not in an evil thing; for he doeth whatsoever pleaseth him.
4 Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?
5 Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man’s heart discerneth both time and judgment.
6 Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him.
7 For he knoweth not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be?
8 There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.
9 All this have I seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: there is a time wherein one man ruleth over another to his own hurt.
10 And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done: this is also vanity.

Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man’s heart discerneth both time and judgment.
6 സകല കാര്യത്തിന്നും കാലവും ന്യായവും ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; മനുഷ്യന്റെ അരിഷ്ടത അവന്നു ഭാരമായിരിക്കുന്നു.
Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him.
7 സംഭവിപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്നതു അവൻ അറിയുന്നില്ലല്ലോ; അതു എങ്ങനെ സംഭവിക്കും എന്നു അവനോടു ആർ അറിയിക്കും?
For he knoweth not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be?
8 ആത്മാവിനെ തടുപ്പാൻ ആത്മാവിന്മേൽ അധികാരമുള്ള ഒരു മനുഷ്യനുമില്ല; മരണ ദിവസത്തിന്മേൽ അധികാരമുള്ളവനുമില്ല; യുദ്ധത്തിൽ സേവാവിമോചനവുമില്ല; ദുഷ്ടത ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെ വിടുവിക്കയുമില്ല.
