ആസെക്കു വൻ പരിചയും കുന്തവും എടുത്തവരായി മൂന്നുലക്ഷം യെഹൂദ്യരും ചെറുപരിച എടുപ്പാനും വില്ലു കുലെപ്പാനും പ്രാപ്തരായി രണ്ടുലക്ഷത്തെണ്പതിനായിരം ബെന്യാമീന്യരും ഉള്ളോരു സൈന്യം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവരെല്ലാവരും പരാക്രമശാലികൾ ആയിരുന്നു.
