2 Samuel 17
1 അനന്തരം അഹീഥോഫെൽ അബ്ശാലോമിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഞാൻ പന്തീരായിരം പേരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഇന്നു രാത്രി തന്നേ ദാവീദിനെ പിന്തുടരട്ടെ.
2 ക്ഷീണിച്ചും അധൈര്യപ്പെട്ടും ഇരിക്കുന്ന അവനെ ഞാൻ ആക്രമിച്ചു ഭ്രമിപ്പിക്കും; അപ്പോൾ അവനോടുകൂടെയുള്ള ജനമൊക്കെയും ഓടിപ്പോകും; ഞാൻ രാജാവിനെ മാത്രം വെട്ടിക്കളയും.
3 പിന്നെ ഞാൻ സകലജനത്തെയും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടക്കിവരുത്തും; നീ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ എല്ലാവരും മടങ്ങിവരുമ്പോൾ സകലജനവും സമാധാനത്തോടെ ഇരിക്കും.
4 ഈ വാക്കു അബ്ശാലോമിന്നും യിസ്രായേൽമൂപ്പന്മാർക്കൊക്കെയും വളരെ ബോധിച്ചു.
5 എന്നാൽ അബ്ശാലോം: അർഖ്യനായ ഹൂശായിയെ വിളിക്ക; അവന്റെ അഭിപ്രായവും കേൾക്കാമല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
1 Moreover Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Let me now choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue after David this night:
2 And I will come upon him while he is weary and weak handed, and will make him afraid: and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I will smite the king only:
3 And I will bring back all the people unto thee: the man whom thou seekest is as if all returned: so all the people shall be in peace.
4 And the saying pleased Absalom well, and all the elders of Israel.
5 Then said Absalom, Call now Hushai the Archite also, and let us hear likewise what he saith.

5 എന്നാൽ അബ്ശാലോം: അർഖ്യനായ ഹൂശായിയെ വിളിക്ക; അവന്റെ അഭിപ്രായവും കേൾക്കാമല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Then said Absalom, Call now Hushai the Archite also, and let us hear likewise what he saith.
