1 And Jesus having been born in Beth-Lehem of Judea, in the days of Herod the king, lo, mages from the east came to Jerusalem,ಅರಸನಾದ ಹೆರೋದನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯೂದಾಯದ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಸು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಮೂಡಲದಿಂದ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದು --

2 saying, `Where is he who was born king of the Jews? for we saw his star in the east, and we came to bow to him.'ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಅರಸ ನಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದಾತನು ಎಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ? ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾವು ಮೂಡಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಆತನನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಅಂದರು.

3 And Herod the king having heard, was stirred, and all Jerusalem with him,ಅರಸನಾದ ಹೆರೋದನು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಅವನು ಯೆರೂಸ ಲೇಮಿನವರೆಲ್ಲರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಳವಳಪಟ್ಟನು.

4 and having gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he was inquiring from them where the Christ is born.ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಜನರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನೂ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ಹುಟ್ಟತಕ್ಕದ್ದು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದನು.

5 And they said to him, `In Beth-Lehem of Judea, for thus it hath been written through the prophet,ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಯೂದಾಯದ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿ ನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಿಂದ ಹೀಗೆ ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ--

6 And thou, Beth-Lehem, the land of Judah, thou art by no means the least among the leaders of Judah, for out of thee shall come one leading, who shall feed My people Israel.'ಯೂದಾಯದ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮೇ, ಯೂದಾಯದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಎಷ್ಟು ಮಾತ್ರವೂ ಸಣ್ಣದಲ್ಲ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಜನರಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಆಳುವ ಒಬ್ಬ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯು ನಿನ್ನೊಳಗಿಂದ ಬರುವನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

7 Then Herod, privately having called the mages, did inquire exactly from them the time of the appearing star,ಆಗ ಹೆರೋದನು ರಹಸ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಆ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ ಆ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರವು ಯಾವ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿತೆಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಪರಿಷ್ಕಾರವಾಗಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು

8 and having sent them to Beth-Lehem, he said, `Having gone -- inquire ye exactly for the child, and whenever ye may have found, bring me back word, that I also having come may bow to him.'ಅವರನ್ನು ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿ ಸುವಾಗ--ನೀವು ಹೋಗಿ ಆ ಶಿಶುವಿನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಿಷ್ಕಾರವಾಗಿ ಹುಡುಕಿ ಆತನನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡ ಮೇಲೆ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬಂದು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿರಿ; ಆಗ ನಾನು ಸಹ ಬಂದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.

9 And they, having heard the king, departed, and lo, the star, that they did see in the east, did go before them, till, having come, it stood over where the child was.ಅವರು ಅರಸನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಹೊರಟಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಮೂಡಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಕಂಡ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರವು ಶಿಶುವು ಇದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಳದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದು ನಿಲ್ಲುವ ತನಕ ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಯಿತು.

10 And having seen the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy,ಅವರು ಆ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರವನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅತ್ಯಧಿಕವಾದ ಆನಂದದಿಂದ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟರು.

11 and having come to the house, they found the child with Mary his mother, and having fallen down they bowed to him, and having opened their treasures, they presented to him gifts, gold, and frankincense, and myrrh,ಅವರು ಮನೆಯೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಆ ಶಿಶುವನ್ನು ಆತನ ತಾಯಿಯಾದ ಮರಿಯಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡು ಸಾಷ್ಟಾಂಗವೆರಗಿ ಆತನನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸಿದರು; ತರುವಾಯ ತಮ್ಮ ಬೊಕ್ಕಸಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆದು ಚಿನ್ನ ಧೂಪ ರಕ್ತಬೋಳಗಳನ್ನು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯಾಗಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.

12 and having been divinely warned in a dream not to turn back unto Herod, through another way they withdrew to their own region.ಆಮೇಲೆ ಅವರು ಹೆರೋದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಬಾರದೆಂದು ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಬೇರೊಂದು ದಾರಿಯಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದರು.

13 And on their having withdrawn, lo, a messenger of the Lord doth appear in a dream to Joseph, saying, `Having risen, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and be thou there till I may speak to thee, for Herod is about to seek the child to destroy him.'ಅವರು ಹೋದಮೇಲೆ ಇಗೋ, ಕರ್ತನ ದೂತನು ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಸೇಫನಿಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು -- ಎದ್ದು ಈ ಶಿಶುವನ್ನೂ ಇದರ ತಾಯಿ ಯನ್ನೂ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಐಗುಪ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುವ ತನಕ ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಇರು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಹೆರೋದನು ಈ ಶಿಶುವನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಕೆಂದು

14 And he, having risen, took the child and his mother by night, and withdrew to Egypt,ಆಗ ಅವನು ಎದ್ದು ಆ ಶಿಶುವನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನೂ ಕರ ಕೊಂಡು ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಐಗುಪ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ಹೆರೋದನು ಸಾಯುವ ವರೆಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಇದ್ದನು.

15 and he was there till the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled that was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, `Out of Egypt I did call My Son.'ಅದು--ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದಿಂದ ಕರೆದೆನು ಎಂದು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಕರ್ತನಿಂದ ಹೇಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಮಾತು ನೆರವೇರುವಂತೆ ಹೀಗಾಯಿತು.

16 Then Herod, having seen that he was deceived by the mages, was very wroth, and having sent forth, he slew all the male children in Beth-Lehem, and in all its borders, from two years and under, according to the time that he inquired exactly from the mages.ಆಗ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿ ದರೆಂದು ಹೆರೋದನು ತಿಳಿದು ಅತಿ ರೋಷಗೊಂಡ ವನಾಗಿ ತಾನು ಅವರ ಮೂಲಕ ಪರಿಷ್ಕಾರವಾಗಿ ಶೋಧಿಸಿದ ಕಾಲಕ್ಕನುಸಾರ ಬೆತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅದರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯಗಳ ಮೇರೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಎರಡು ವರುಷ ಮತ್ತು ಅದರೊಳಗಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಕ್ಕ

17 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying,ಆಗ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯ ನಿಂದ ಹೇಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟದ್ದು ನೆರವೇರಿತು;

18 `A voice in Ramah was heard -- lamentation and weeping and much mourning -- Rachel weeping `for' her children, and she would not be comforted because they are not.'ಅದೇನಂದರೆ--ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಲಾಪವೂ ಅಳುವಿಕೆಯೂ ಬಹು ಶೋಕದ ಧ್ವನಿಯೂ ಕೇಳಿಸಿತು; ರಾಹೇಲಳು ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಅಳುತ್ತಾ ಅವರು ಇಲ್ಲದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆದರಣೆ ಹೊಂದಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ ಇದ್ದಳು ಎಂಬದೇ.

19 And Herod having died, lo, a messenger of the Lord in a dream doth appear to Joseph in Egypt,ಹೆರೋದನು ಸತ್ತ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಗೋ, ಐಗುಪ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನ ದೂತನು ಯೋಸೇಫನಿಗೆ ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು--

20 saying, `Having risen, take the child and his mother, and be going to the land of Israel, for they have died -- those seeking the life of the child.'ಎದ್ದು ಶಿಶುವನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನೂ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಶಿಶುವಿನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆಯಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹುಡುಕುವವರು ಸತ್ತುಹೋದರು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

21 And he, having risen, took the child and his mother, and came to the land of Israel,ಆಗ ಅವನು ಎದ್ದು ಆ ಶಿಶುವನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ತಾಯಿ ಯನ್ನೂ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ

22 and having heard that Archelaus doth reign over Judea instead of Herod his father, he was afraid to go thither, and having been divinely warned in a dream, he withdrew to the parts of Galilee,ಅರ್ಖೆಲಾಯನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಹೆರೋದನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಯೂದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟನು; ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನಾಗಿ ಗಲಿಲಾಯ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡನು.

23 and coming, he dwelt in a city named Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled that was spoken through the prophets, that `A Nazarene he shall be called.'ಅವನು ನಜರೇತೆಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸಿದನು; ಇದರಿಂದ--ಆತನು ನಜರಾಯನೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪ ಡುವನು ಎಂಬದಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಿಂದ ಹೇಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟದ್ದು ನೆರವೇರುವಂತೆ ಹೀಗಾಯಿತು.
