Ecclesiastes 9
8 ನಿನ್ನ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಬಿಳುಪಾಗಿರಲಿ. ನಿನ್ನ ತಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಯಾಗದಿರಲಿ.
9 ನಿನ್ನ ನಿರ್ಥಕವಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಆತನು ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಜೀವನದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಯೊಡನೆ ಆನಂದದಿಂದ ವಾಸಿಸು; ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಕೆಳಗೆ ನೀನು ಪಡುವ ಕಷ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇದೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಪಾಲಾಗಿದೆ.
10 ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿನ್ನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಮಾಡು; ನೀನು ಹೋಗಲಿರುವ ಸಮಾಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸವೂ ಯುಕ್ತಿಯೂ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯೂ ಜ್ಞಾನವೂ ಇರುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
8 Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment.
9 Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.
10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

9 ನಿನ್ನ ನಿರ್ಥಕವಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಆತನು ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಜೀವನದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಯೊಡನೆ ಆನಂದದಿಂದ ವಾಸಿಸು; ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಕೆಳಗೆ ನೀನು ಪಡುವ ಕಷ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇದೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಪಾಲಾಗಿದೆ.
