8 ಅವರು ಗಿಬ್ಯದ ಸವಿಾಪದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೊಡ್ಡಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅಮಾಸನು ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋದನು. ಆದರೆ ಯೋವಾಬನು ತಾನು ತೊಟ್ಟು ಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಅಂಗಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದು ನಡು ಕಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಒರೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಒಂದು ಕತ್ತಿಯು ಅವನ ನಡುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತೂಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಅವನು ನಡೆಯುವಾಗ ಅದು ಬಿತ್ತು.
9 ಆಗ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಅಮಾಸನಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನೇ, ಕ್ಷೇಮವೋ ಅಂದನು. ಯೋವಾಬನು ಮುದ್ದಿಡುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ತನ್ನ ಬಲಗೈಯಿಂದ ಅವನ ಗಡ್ಡವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅಮಾಸನು ಯೋವಾಬನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಕತ್ತಿ ಯನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸದಿದ್ದಾಗ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರುಳುಗಳು ಹೊರಬರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವನ ಪಕ್ಕೆಯ ಐದನೇ ಎಲುಬಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತಿವಿದನು.
10 ಎರಡನೇ ಸಾರಿ ಹೊಡೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಅವನು ಸತ್ತನು. ಯೋವಾಬನೂ ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಅಬೀಷೈಯೂ ಬಿಕ್ರೀಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಶೆಬನನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿದರು.
11 ಯೋವಾಬನ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಸತ್ತವನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು--ಯಾವನು ಯೋವಾಬನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಷ್ಟವುಳ್ಳವನೋ ಯಾವನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಹೊಂದಿದವನೋ ಅವನು ಯೋವಾಬನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋಗಲಿ ಅಂದನು.
12 ಆದರೆ ಅಮಾಸನು ರಾಜ ಮಾರ್ಗದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ರಕ್ತದೊಳಗೆ ಹೊರಳಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದನು. ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ನಿಂತಿರುವದನ್ನು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಕಂಡಾಗ ಅವನು ಅಮಾಸನನ್ನು ದಾರಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊಲಕ್ಕೆ ಎಳೆದು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದು ವಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿದನು.
13 ಅವನು ರಾಜ ಮಾರ್ಗ ದಿಂದ ಎಳೆದು ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ತರುವಾಯ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಮುಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಬಿಕ್ರೀಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಶೆಬನನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿ ಯೋವಾಬನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋದರು.
8 When they were at the great stone which is in Gibeon, Amasa went before them. And Joab’s garment that he had put on was girded unto him, and upon it a girdle with a sword fastened upon his loins in the sheath thereof; and as he went forth it fell out.
9 And Joab said to Amasa, Art thou in health, my brother? And Joab took Amasa by the beard with the right hand to kiss him.
10 But Amasa took no heed to the sword that was in Joab’s hand: so he smote him therewith in the fifth rib, and shed out his bowels to the ground, and struck him not again; and he died. So Joab and Abishai his brother pursued after Sheba the son of Bichri.
11 And one of Joab’s men stood by him, and said, He that favoureth Joab, and he that is for David, let him go after Joab.
12 And Amasa wallowed in blood in the midst of the highway. And when the man saw that all the people stood still, he removed Amasa out of the highway into the field, and cast a cloth upon him, when he saw that every one that came by him stood still.
13 When he was removed out of the highway, all the people went on after Joab, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.

9 ಆಗ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಅಮಾಸನಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನೇ, ಕ್ಷೇಮವೋ ಅಂದನು. ಯೋವಾಬನು ಮುದ್ದಿಡುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ತನ್ನ ಬಲಗೈಯಿಂದ ಅವನ ಗಡ್ಡವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅಮಾಸನು ಯೋವಾಬನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಕತ್ತಿ ಯನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸದಿದ್ದಾಗ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರುಳುಗಳು ಹೊರಬರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವನ ಪಕ್ಕೆಯ ಐದನೇ ಎಲುಬಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತಿವಿದನು.
And Joab said to Amasa, Art thou in health, my brother? And Joab took Amasa by the beard with the right hand to kiss him.

And one of Joab’s men stood by him, and said, He that favoureth Joab, and he that is for David, let him go after Joab.
12 ಆದರೆ ಅಮಾಸನು ರಾಜ ಮಾರ್ಗದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ರಕ್ತದೊಳಗೆ ಹೊರಳಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದನು. ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ನಿಂತಿರುವದನ್ನು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಕಂಡಾಗ ಅವನು ಅಮಾಸನನ್ನು ದಾರಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊಲಕ್ಕೆ ಎಳೆದು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದು ವಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿದನು.

When he was removed out of the highway, all the people went on after Joab, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.
