லேவியருக்கு உங்கள் நடுவே பங்கில்லை; கர்த்தருடைய ஆசாரியப்பட்டமே அவர்கள் சுதந்தரம்; காத்தும் ரூபனும் மனாசேயின் பாதிக்கோத்திரமும் யோர்தானுக்கு அப்புறத்திலே கிழக்கே கர்த்தரின் தாசனாகிய மோசே தங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த தங்கள் சுதந்தரத்தை அடைந்து தீர்ந்தது என்றான்.

லேவியர் தேசத்தில் எந்தப் பாகத்தையும் பெறவில்லை. கர்த்தருக்கு ஆசாரியர்களாக சேவை செய்வதே அவர்களுக்குரிய பங்காகும். வாக்களிக்கப்பட்ட தேசத்தில் தங்களுக்குரிய பாகத்தை காத், ரூபன் ஆகிய கோத்திரங்களும், மனாசே கோத்திரத்தின் பாதிக் குடும்பங்களும் பெற்றுக்கொண்டனர். யோர்தான் நதியின் கிழக்குப் பகுதியில் அவர்கள் வசித்தனர். கர்த்தருடைய, ஊழியனாகிய மோசே, அவர்களுக்கு அத்தேசத்தைக் கொடுத்திருந்தான்” என்றான்.
