1 புறஜாதிகளுக்கு விரோதமாய் எரேமியா தீர்க்கதரிசிக்கு உண்டான கர்த்தருடைய வசனம்: The word of the LORD which came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Gentiles;

2 எகிப்தைக்குறித்தும், ஐப்பிராத்து நதியண்டையில் கர்கேமிசிலே இருந்ததும் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார், யோசியாவின் குமாரனாகிய யோயாக்கீம் என்னும் யூதா ராஜாவின் நாலாம் வருஷத்திலே முறிய அடித்ததுமான பார்வோன்நேகோ என்னப்பட்ட எகிப்து ராஜாவின் ராணுவத்தைக்குறித்தும் அவர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்: Against Egypt, against the army of Pharaohnecho king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon smote in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah.

3 கேடகங்களையும் பரிசைகளையும் ஆயத்தம்பண்ணி, யுத்தத்துக்கு வாருங்கள். Order ye the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle.

4 குதிரைவீரரே, குதிரைகளின் மேல் சேணங்களை வைத்து ஏறி, தலைச்சீராயை அணிந்துகொண்டு நில்லுங்கள்; ஈட்டிகளைத் துலக்கி, கவசங்களைத் தரித்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள். Harness the horses; and get up, ye horsemen, and stand forth with your helmets; furbish the spears, and put on the brigandines.

5 அவர்கள் கலங்கி, பின்வாங்குகிறதை நான் காண்கிறதென்ன? சுற்றிலுமுண்டான பயங்கரத்தினிமித்தம் அவர்களுடைய பராக்கிரமசாலிகள் முறியுண்டு, திரும்பிப்பாராமல் ஓட்டமாய் ஓடிப்போகிறார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார். Wherefore have I seen them dismayed and turned away back? and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled apace, and look not back: for fear was round about, saith the LORD.

6 வேகமாய் ஓடுகிறவன் ஓடிப்போகவேண்டாம்; பராக்கிரமசாலி தப்பிப்போகவேண்டாம்; வடக்கே ஐப்பிராத்து நதியண்டையிலே அவர்கள் இடறிவிழுவார்கள். Let not the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; they shall stumble, and fall toward the north by the river Euphrates.

7 பிரவாகம்போல் புரண்டுவருகிற இவன் யார்? அலைகள் மோதியடிக்கிற நதிகள்போல் எழும்பிவருகிற இவன் யார்? Who is this that cometh up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers?

8 எகிப்தியனே பிரவாகத்தைப் போல் புரண்டுவருகிறான், அவனே அலைகள் மோதியடிக்கிற நதிகள்போல எழுமύபிவருகிறான்; நான் பேޠί், தேசத்தை மூடி, நகரத்தையும் அதில் குடியிருக்கிறவர்களையும் அழிப்பேன் என்றான். Egypt riseth up like a flood, and his waters are moved like the rivers; and he saith, I will go up, and will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and the inhabitants thereof.

9 குதிரைகளே, போய் ஏறுங்கள்; இரதங்களே, கடகட என்று ஓடுங்கள்; பராக்கிரமசாலிகளும், கேடகம் பிடிக்கிற எத்தியோப்பியரும், பூத்தியரும், வில்லைபிடித்து நாணேற்றுகிற லீதியரும் புறப்படக்கடவர்கள். Come up, ye horses; and rage, ye chariots; and let the mighty men come forth; the Ethiopians and the Libyans, that handle the shield; and the Lydians, that handle and bend the bow.

For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.

11 எகிப்தின் குமாரத்தியாகிய கன்னிகையே, நீ கீலேயாத்துக்குப் போய், பிசின் தைலம் வாங்கு; திரளான அவிழ்தங்களை நீ கூட்டுகிறது விருதா, உனக்கு ஆரோக்கியமுண்டாகாது. Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt: in vain shalt thou use many medicines; for thou shalt not be cured.

12 ஜாதிகள் உன் இலச்சையைக் கேள்விப்பட்டார்கள்; உன் கூக்குரலால் தேசம் நிறைந்தது; பராக்கிரமசாலியின்மேல் பராக்கிரமசாலி இடறி, இருவரும் ஏகமாய் விழுந்தார்கள் என்றார். The nations have heard of thy shame, and thy cry hath filled the land: for the mighty man hath stumbled against the mighty, and they are fallen both together.

13 எகிப்துதேசத்தை அழிக்கப் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத் நேச்சார் வருவானென்பதைக்குறித்து, எரேமியா தீர்க்கதரிசியினிடத்தில் கர்த்தர் சொன்ன வசனம்: The word that the LORD spake to Jeremiah the prophet, how Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon should come and smite the land of Egypt.

14 ஆயத்தப்பட்டு நில், பட்டயம் உன்னைச் சுற்றிலும் உண்டானதைப் பட்சித்துபோடுகிறதென்று சொல்லி, எகிப்திலே அறிவித்து, மிக்தோலிலே கூறி, நோப்பிலும் தக்பானேசிலும் பிரசித்தம்பண்ணுங்கள். Declare ye in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Noph and in Tahpanhes: say ye, Stand fast, and prepare thee; for the sword shall devour round about thee.

15 உன் வீரர் வாரிக்கொள்ளப்படுகிறதென்ன? கர்த்தர் அவர்களைத் தன்ளினதால் அவர்கள் நிலைநிற்கவில்லை. Why are thy valiant men swept away? they stood not, because the LORD did drive them.

16 அநேகரை இடறப்பண்ணுகிறார்; அவனவன் தனக்கடுத்தவன்மேல் விழுகிறான்; அவர்கள்: எழுந்திருங்கள், கொல்லுகிற பட்டயத்துக்குத் தப்ப நமது ஜனத்தண்டைக்கும், நாம் பிறந்த தேசத்துக்கும் திரும்பிப்போவோம் என்கிறார்கள். He made many to fall, yea, one fell upon another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword.

17 எகிப்தின் ராஜாவாகிய பார்வோன் பாழாக்கப்பட்டான்; அவனுக்குக் குறித்த காலம் முடிந்ததென்று அங்கே சத்தமிட்டுச் சொல்லுகிறார்கள். They did cry there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he hath passed the time appointed.

18 பர்வதங்களில் தாபோரும் சமுத்திரத்தின் அருகே கர்மேலும் இருக்கிற நிச்சயம்போல் அவன் வருவானென்று சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் என்னும் நாமமுள்ள ராஜா தம்முடைய ஜீவனைக் கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறார். As I live, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts, Surely as Tabor is among the mountains, and as Carmel by the sea, so shall he come.

19 எகிப்துதேசவாசியாகிய குமாரத்தியே, சிறையிருப்புக்குப் போகும் பிரயாண சாமான்களை ஆயத்தப்படுத்து, நோப் பாழாகும்; அது குடியில்லாமல் சுட்டெரிக்கப்பட்டுக் கிடக்கும். O thou daughter dwelling in Egypt, furnish thyself to go into captivity: for Noph shall be waste and desolate without an inhabitant.

20 எகிப்து மகா நேர்த்தியான கடாரி, அடிக்கிறவன் வடக்கேயிருந்து வருகிறான். Egypt is like a very fair heifer, but destruction cometh; it cometh out of the north.

21 அதின் நடுவில் இருக்கிற அதின் கூலிப்படைகள் கொழுத்த காளைகள் போலிருக்கிறார்கள்; இவர்களும் நிற்காமல், திரும்பிக்கொண்டு ஏகமாய் ஓடிப்போவார்கள்; அவர்கள் விசாரிக்கப்படுகிற அவர்களுடைய ஆபத்துநாள் அவர்கள் மேல் வந்தது. Also her hired men are in the midst of her like fatted bullocks; for they also are turned back, and are fled away together: they did not stand, because the day of their calamity was come upon them, and the time of their visitation.

22 அவன் பாம்பைபோல சீறிவருவான், இராணுவபலத்தோடே நடந்து, காடுவெட்டிகளைப்போல் கோடாரிகளோடு அதின்மேல் வருவார்கள். The voice thereof shall go like a serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.

23 எண்ணப்படாத மரங்களாயிருந்தாலும் அந்தக் காட்டை வெட்டுவார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்; அவர்கள் வெட்டுக்கிளிகளைப் பார்க்கிலும் அதிகமானவர்கள், அவர்களுக்குத் தொகையில்லை. They shall cut down her forest, saith the LORD, though it cannot be searched; because they are more than the grasshoppers, and are innumerable.

24 எகிப்தின் குமாரத்தி கலங்குவாள்; வடதிசை ஜனத்தின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படுவாள். The daughter of Egypt shall be confounded; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.

25 இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்; இதோ, நான் நோ என்னும் பட்டணத்திலுள்ள திரளான ஜனங்களையும், பார்வோனையும், எகிப்தையும், அதின் தேவர்களையும், அதின் ராஜாக்களையும், பார்வோனையும், அவனை நம்பியிருக்கிறவர்களையும் விசாரித்து, The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saith; Behold, I will punish the multitude of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods, and their kings; even Pharaoh, and all them that trust in him:

And I will deliver them into the hand of those that seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants: and afterward it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, saith the LORD.

27 என் தாசனாகிய யாக்கோபே, நீ பயப்படாதே; இஸ்ரவேலே, நீ கலங்காதே; இதோ, நான் உன்னைத் தூரத்திலும், உன் சந்ததியை அவர்கள் சிறையிருப்பின் தேசத்திலுமிருந்து விடுவித்து இரட்சிப்பேன்; அப்பொழுது யாக்கோபு திரும்பிவந்து, அமைதியோடும் சாங்கோபாங்கத்தோடும் இருப்பான்; அவனைத் தத்தளிக்கப்பண்ணுவார் இல்லை. But fear not thou, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel: for, behold, I will save thee from afar off, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.

28 என் தாசனாகிய யாக்கோபே, நீ பயப்படாதே என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்; நான் உன்னுடனே இருக்கிறேன்; உன்னைத் துரத்திவிட்ட எல்லா ஜாதிகளையும் நான் நிர்மூலமாக்குவேன்; உன்னையோ நான் நிர்மூலமாக்காமல், உன்னை மட்டாய் தண்டிப்பேன்; ஆனாலும் உன்னை நான் குற்றமில்லாமல் நீங்கலாக விடுவதில்லையென்கிறார். Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the LORD: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished.

2 Ekipthaikkuriththum, aippiraaththu nathiyanntaiyil karkaemisilae irunthathum paapilon raajaavaakiya naepukaathnaechchaாr, yosiyaavin kumaaranaakiya yoyaakgeem ennum yoothaa raajaavin naalaam varushaththilae muriya atiththathumaana paarvonnaeko ennappatta ekipthu raajaavin raanuvaththaikkuriththum avar sollukirathu ennavental: Against Egypt, against the army of Pharaohnecho king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon smote in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah.

3 Kaedakangalaiyum parisaikalaiyum aayaththampannnni, yuththaththukku vaarungal. Order ye the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle.

4 Kuthiraiveerarae, kuthiraikalin mael senangalai vaiththu aeri, thalaichchaீraayai anninthukonndu nillungal; eettikalaith thulakki, kavasangalaith thariththukkollungal. Harness the horses; and get up, ye horsemen, and stand forth with your helmets; furbish the spears, and put on the brigandines.

5 Avarkal kalangi, pinvaangukirathai naan kaannkirathenna? Suttilumunndaana payangaraththinimiththam avarkalutaiya paraakkiramasaalikal muriyunndu, thirumpippaaraamal ottamaay otippokiraarkal entu Karththar sollukiraar. Wherefore have I seen them dismayed and turned away back? and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled apace, and look not back: for fear was round about, saith the LORD.

6 Vaekamaay odukiravan otippokavaenndaam; paraakkiramasaali thappippokavaenndaam; vadakkae aippiraaththu nathiyanntaiyilae avarkal idariviluvaarkal. Let not the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; they shall stumble, and fall toward the north by the river Euphrates.

7 Piravaakampol purannduvarukira ivan yaar? Alaikal mothiyatikkira nathikalpol elumpivarukira ivan yaar? Who is this that cometh up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers?

8 Ekipthiyanae piravaakaththaip pol purannduvarukiraan, avanae alaikal mothiyatikkira nathikalpola elumaύpivarukiraan; naan paeޠί், thaesaththai mooti, nakaraththaiyum athil kutiyirukkiravarkalaiyum alippaen entan. Egypt riseth up like a flood, and his waters are moved like the rivers; and he saith, I will go up, and will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and the inhabitants thereof.

9 Kuthiraikalae, poy aeraுngal; irathangalae, kadakada entu odungal; paraakkiramasaalikalum, kaedakam pitikkira eththiyoppiyarum, pooththiyarum, villaipitiththu naanneettaுkira leethiyarum purappadakkadavarkal. Come up, ye horses; and rage, ye chariots; and let the mighty men come forth; the Ethiopians and the Libyans, that handle the shield; and the Lydians, that handle and bend the bow.

10 Aanaalum, ithu senaikalin karththaraakiya aanndavarin naalum, avar thammutaiya saththurukkalukku neethiyaich sarikkattukira naalumaayirukkirathu; aakaiyaal, pattayam patchiththu, avarkalutaiya iraththaththaal thirupthiyaaki veriththirukkum; vadathaesaththil aippiraaththu nathiyanntaiyilae senaikalin karththaraakiya aanndavarukku oru yaakamum unndu. 11 Ekipthin kumaaraththiyaakiya kannikaiyae, nee geelaeyaaththukkup poy, pisin thailam vaangu; thiralaana avilthangalai nee koottukirathu viruthaa, unakku aarokkiyamunndaakaathu. 12 Jaathikal un ilachchaைyaik kaelvippattarkal; un kookkuralaal thaesam nirainthathu; paraakkiramasaaliyinmael paraakkiramasaali idari, iruvarum aekamaay vilunthaarkal entar. The nations have heard of thy shame, and thy cry hath filled the land: for the mighty man hath stumbled against the mighty, and they are fallen both together.

13 Ekipthuthaesaththai alikkap paapilon raajaavaakiya naepukaath naechchaாr varuvaanenpathaikkuriththu, eraemiyaa theerkkatharisiyinidaththil Karththar sonna vasanam: The word that the LORD spake to Jeremiah the prophet, how Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon should come and smite the land of Egypt.

14 Aayaththappattu nil, pattayam unnaich suttilum unndaanathaip patchiththupodukirathentu solli, ekipthilae ariviththu, miktholilae koori, Nnoppilum thakpaanaesilum pirasiththampannnungal. 16 Anaekarai idarappannnukiraar; avanavan thanakkaduththavanmael vilukiraan; avarkal: elunthirungal, kollukira pattayaththukkuth thappa namathu janaththanntaikkum, naam pirantha thaesaththukkum thirumpippovom enkiraarkal. He made many to fall, yea, one fell upon another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword.

17 Ekipthin raajaavaakiya paarvon paalaakkappattan; avanukkuk kuriththa kaalam mutinthathentu angae saththamittuch sollukiraarkal. They did cry there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he hath passed the time appointed.

18 Parvathangalil thaaporum samuththiraththin arukae karmaelum irukkira nichchayampol avan varuvaanentu senaikalin Karththar ennum naamamulla raajaa thammutaiya jeevanaik konndu sollukiraar. As I live, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts, Surely as Tabor is among the mountains, and as Carmel by the sea, so shall he come.

19 Ekipthuthaesavaasiyaakiya kumaaraththiyae, siraiyiruppukkup pokum pirayaana saamaankalai aayaththappaduththu, Nnop paalaakum; athu kutiyillaamal sutterikkappattuk kidakkum. O thou daughter dwelling in Egypt, furnish thyself to go into captivity: for Noph shall be waste and desolate without an inhabitant.

20 Ekipthu makaa naerththiyaana kadaari, atikkiravan vadakkaeyirunthu varukiraan. Egypt is like a very fair heifer, but destruction cometh; it cometh out of the north.

21 Athin naduvil irukkira athin koolippataikal koluththa kaalaikal polirukkiraarkal; ivarkalum nirkaamal, thirumpikkonndu aekamaay otippovaarkal; avarkal visaarikkappadukira avarkalutaiya aapaththunaal avarkal mael vanthathu. 22 Avan paampaipola seerivaruvaan, iraanuvapalaththotae nadanthu, kaaduvettikalaippol kodaarikalodu athinmael varuvaarkal. The voice thereof shall go like a serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.

23 Ennnappadaatha marangalaayirunthaalum anthak kaattaை vettuvaarkal entu Karththar sollukiraar; avarkal vettukkilikalaip paarkkilum athikamaanavarkal, avarkalukkuth thokaiyillai. They shall cut down her forest, saith the LORD, though it cannot be searched; because they are more than the grasshoppers, and are innumerable.

24 Ekipthin kumaaraththi kalanguvaal; vadathisai janaththin kaiyil oppukkodukkappaduvaal. The daughter of Egypt shall be confounded; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.

25 Isravaelin thaevanaakiya senaikalin Karththar sollukirathu ennavental; itho, naan Nno ennum pattanaththilulla thiralaana janangalaiyum, paarvonaiyum, ekipthaiyum, athin thaevarkalaiyum, athin raajaakkalaiyum, paarvonaiyum, avanai nampiyirukkiravarkalaiyum visaariththu, The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saith; Behold, I will punish the multitude of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods, and their kings; even Pharaoh, and all them that trust in him:

26 Avarkal piraananai vaangath thaedukiravarkalin kaiyilum, paapilon raajaavaakiya naepukaathnaechchaாrin kaiyilum, avanutaiya sevakarin kaiyilum, avarkalai oppukkoduppaen; atharkuppinpu athu poorvakaalaththil irunthathupol kutiyaettappadum entu Karththar sollukiraar. 27 En thaasanaakiya yaakkopae, nee payappadaathae; isravaelae, nee kalangaathae; itho, naan unnaith thooraththilum, un santhathiyai avarkal siraiyiruppin thaesaththilumirunthu viduviththu iratchippaen; appoluthu yaakkopu thirumpivanthu, amaithiyodum saangaோpaangaththodum iruppaan; avanaith thaththalikkappannnuvaar illai. But fear not thou, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel: for, behold, I will save thee from afar off, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.

28 En thaasanaakiya yaakkopae, nee payappadaathae entu Karththar sollukiraar; naan unnudanae irukkiraேn; unnaith thuraththivitta ellaa jaathikalaiyum naan nirmoolamaakkuvaen; unnaiyo naan nirmoolamaakkaamal, unnai mattay thanntippaen; aanaalum unnai naan kuttamillaamal neengalaaka viduvathillaiyenkiraar. Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the LORD: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished.
