அப்பொழுது தங்கள் ஸ்திரீகள் அந்நியதேவர்களுக்குத் தூபங்காட்டினதாக அறிந்திருந்த எல்லாப் புருஷரும், பெரிய கூட்டமாய் நின்றிருந்த எல்லா ஸ்திரீகளும், எகிப்துதேசத்தில் பத்ரோசிலே குடியிருந்த சகல ஜனங்களும் எரேமியாவுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக:

அப்பொழுது தங்கள் பெண்கள் அந்நிய தெய்வங்களுக்குத் தூபங்காட்டினதாக அறிந்திருந்த எல்லா ஆண்களும், பெரிய கூட்டமாய் நின்றிருந்த எல்லாப் பெண்களும், எகிப்துதேசத்தில் பத்ரோசில் குடியிருந்த எல்லா மக்களும் எரேமியாவுக்கு மறுமொழியாக:

யூதாவின் பெண்களில் பலர் எகிப்தில் வாழும்போது அந்நிய தெய்வங்களுக்குப் பலிகள் கொடுத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தனர். அவர்களது கணவர்களுக்கு இது தெரியும். ஆனால் அவர்களை தடுத்து நிறுத்தவில்லை. யூதாவின் ஜனங்களில் பெரிய கூட்டத்தினர் ஒன்று கூடுகின்றனர். அவர்கள் எகிப்தின் தென்பகுதியில் வாழுகின்ற யூதா ஜனங்களாவார்கள். மற்ற தெய்வங்களுக்கு பலிகள் கொடுத்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிற அப்பெண்களின் கணவர்கள் எரேமியாவிடம்.

அப்பொழுது, தங்கள் மனைவியர் வேற்றுத் தெய்வங்களுக்குத் தூபம் காட்டியதை அறிந்திருந்த எல்லா ஆண்களும், அங்குக் கூட்டமாய் நின்று கொண்டிருந்த எல்லாப் பெண்களும், எகிப்து நாட்டிலும் பத்ரோசிலும் வாழ்ந்துவந்த மக்கள் அனைவரும் எரேமியாவுக்கு மறுமொழியாகக் கூறியது:

which knew הַיֹּֽדְעִים֙ yādaʿ ya-DA
that כִּֽי kî kee
had burned incense מְקַטְּר֤וֹת qāṭar ka-TAHR
their wives נְשֵׁיהֶם֙ ʾiššâ ee-SHA
gods, לֵאלֹהִ֣ים ʾĕlōhîm ay-loh-HEEM
unto other אֲחֵרִ֔ים ʾaḥēr ah-HARE
and all וְכָל kōl kole
the women הַנָּשִׁ֥ים ʾiššâ ee-SHA
that stood by, הָעֹמְד֖וֹת ʿāmad ah-MAHD
multitude, קָהָ֣ל qāhāl ka-HAHL
a great גָּד֑וֹל gādôl ɡa-DOLE
even all וְכָל kōl kole
the people הָעָ֛ם ʿam am
that dwelt הַיֹּשְׁבִ֥ים yāšab ya-SHAHV
in the land בְּאֶֽרֶץ ʾereṣ eh-RETS
