שִׁלְחוּ Send šālaḥ כַ֥ר ye the lamb kar מֹשֵֽׁל to the ruler māšal אֶ֖רֶץ of the land ʾereṣ מִסֶּ֣לַע from Sela selaʿ מִדְבָּ֑רָה to the wilderness, midbār אֶל unto ʾēl הַ֖ר the mount har בַּת of the daughter bat צִיּֽוֹן׃ of Zion. ṣiyyôn

וְהָיָ֥ה For it shall be, hāyâ כְעוֹף bird ʿôp נוֹדֵ֖ד as a wandering nādad קֵ֣ן of the nest, qēn מְשֻׁלָּ֑ח cast out šālaḥ תִּֽהְיֶ֙ינָה֙ shall be hāyâ בְּנ֣וֹת the daughters bat מוֹאָ֔ב of Moab môʾāb מַעְבָּרֹ֖ת at the fords maʿăbār לְאַרְנֽוֹן׃ of Arnon. ʾarnôn

הָבִ֤יאִו Take bôʾ עֵצָה֙ counsel, ʿēṣâ עֲשׂ֣וּ execute ʿāśâ פְלִילָ֔ה judgment; pĕlîlâ שִׁ֧יתִי make šît כַלַּ֛יִל as the night layil צִלֵּ֖ךְ thy shadow ṣēl בְּת֣וֹךְ in the midst tāwek צָהֳרָ֑יִם of the noonday; ṣōhar סַתְּרִי֙ hide sātar נִדָּחִ֔ים the outcasts; nādaḥ נֹדֵ֖ד him that wandereth. nādad אַל not ʾal תְּגַלִּֽי׃ bewray gālâ

יָג֤וּרוּ dwell gûr בָךְ֙ נִדָּחַ֔י Let mine outcasts nādaḥ מוֹאָ֛ב with thee, Moab; môʾāb הֱוִי be hāwāʾ סֵ֥תֶר thou a covert sēter לָ֖מוֹ מִפְּנֵ֣י to them from the face pānîm שׁוֹדֵ֑ד of the spoiler: šādad כִּֽי for kî אָפֵ֤ס is at an end, ʾāpēs הַמֵּץ֙ the extortioner mûṣ כָּ֣לָה ceaseth, kālâ שֹׁ֔ד the spoiler šōd תַּ֥מּוּ are consumed tāmam רֹמֵ֖ס the oppressors rāmas מִן out of min הָאָֽרֶץ׃ the land. ʾereṣ

וְהוּכַ֤ן be established: kûn בַּחֶ֙סֶד֙ And in mercy ḥēsēd כִּסֵּ֔א shall the throne kissēʾ וְיָשַׁ֥ב and he shall sit yāšab עָלָ֛יו upon ʿal בֶּאֱמֶ֖ת it in truth ʾemet בְּאֹ֣הֶל in the tabernacle ʾōhel דָּוִ֑ד of David, dāwid שֹׁפֵ֛ט judging, šāpaṭ וְדֹרֵ֥שׁ and seeking dāraš מִשְׁפָּ֖ט judgment, mišpāṭ וּמְהִ֥ר and hasting māhîr צֶֽדֶק׃ righteousness. ṣedeq

שָׁמַ֥עְנוּ We have heard šāmaʿ גְאוֹן of the pride gāʾôn מוֹאָ֖ב of Moab; môʾāb גֵּ֣א proud: gēʾ מְאֹ֑ד very mĕʾōd גַּאֲוָת֧וֹ of his haughtiness, gaʾăwâ וּגְאוֹנ֛וֹ and his pride, gāʾôn וְעֶבְרָת֖וֹ and his wrath: ʿebrâ לֹא not so. lōʾ כֵ֥ן kēn בַּדָּֽיו׃ his lies bad

לָכֵ֗ן Therefore kēn יְיֵלִ֥יל howl yālal מוֹאָ֛ב shall Moab môʾāb לְמוֹאָ֖ב for Moab, môʾāb כֻּלֹּ֣ה every one kōl יְיֵלִ֑יל shall howl: yālal לַאֲשִׁישֵׁ֧י for the foundations ʾāšîš קִיר חֲרֶ֛שֶׂת of Kir-hareseth qîr ḥereś תֶּהְגּ֖וּ shall ye mourn; hāgâ אַךְ surely ʾak נְכָאִֽים׃ stricken. nākēʾ

כִּ֣י For kî שַׁדְמוֹת֩ the fields šĕdēmâ חֶשְׁבּ֨וֹן of Heshbon ḥešbôn אֻמְלָ֜ל languish, ʾāmal גֶּ֣פֶן the vine gepen שִׂבְמָ֗ה of Sibmah: śĕbām בַּעֲלֵ֤י the lords baʿal גוֹיִם֙ of the heathen gôy הָלְמ֣וּ have broken down hālam שְׂרוּקֶּ֔יהָ the principal plants śārûq עַד unto ʿad יַעְזֵ֥ר Jazer, yaʿăzêr נָגָ֖עוּ thereof, they are come nāgaʿ תָּ֣עוּ they wandered tāʿâ מִדְבָּ֑ר the wilderness: midbār שְׁלֻ֣חוֹתֶ֔יהָ her branches šilluḥâ נִטְּשׁ֖וּ are stretched out, nāṭaš עָ֥בְרוּ they are gone over ʿābar יָֽם׃ the sea. yām

עַל Therefore ʿal כֵּ֡ן kēn אֶבְכֶּ֞ה I will bewail bākâ בִּבְכִ֤י with the weeping bĕkî יַעְזֵר֙ of Jazer yaʿăzêr גֶּ֣פֶן the vine gepen שִׂבְמָ֔ה of Sibmah: śĕbām אֲרַיָּ֙וֶךְ֙ I will water rāwâ דִּמְעָתִ֔י thee with my tears, dimʿâ חֶשְׁבּ֖וֹן O Heshbon, ḥešbôn וְאֶלְעָלֵ֑ה and Elealeh: ʾelʿālēʾ כִּ֧י for kî עַל for ʿal קֵיצֵ֛ךְ thy summer fruits qayiṣ וְעַל and for ʿal קְצִירֵ֖ךְ thy harvest qāṣîr הֵידָ֥ד the shouting hêdād נָפָֽל׃ is fallen. nāpal

וְנֶאֱסַ֨ף is taken away, ʾāsap שִׂמְחָ֤ה And gladness śimḥâ וָגִיל֙ and joy gîl מִן out of min הַכַּרְמֶ֔ל the plentiful field; karmel וּבַכְּרָמִ֥ים and in the vineyards kerem לֹֽא there shall be no lōʾ יְרֻנָּ֖ן singing, rānan לֹ֣א neither lōʾ יְרֹעָ֑ע shall there be shouting: rûaʿ יַ֗יִן wine yayin בַּיְקָבִ֛ים in presses; yeqeb לֹֽא no lōʾ יִדְרֹ֥ךְ the treaders dārak הַדֹּרֵ֖ךְ shall tread out dārak הֵידָ֥ד I have made shouting hêdād הִשְׁבַּֽתִּי׃ to cease. šābat

עַל Wherefore ʿal כֵּן֙ kēn מֵעַ֣י my bowels mēʿe לְמוֹאָ֔ב for Moab, môʾāb כַּכִּנּ֖וֹר like an harp kinnôr יֶֽהֱמ֑וּ shall sound hāmâ וְקִרְבִּ֖י and mine inward parts qereb לְקִ֥יר for Kir-haresh. qîr ḥereś חָֽרֶשׂ׃

וְהָיָ֧ה And it shall come to pass, hāyâ כִֽי when kî נִרְאָ֛ה it is seen rāʾâ כִּֽי that kî נִלְאָ֥ה is weary lāʾâ מוֹאָ֖ב Moab môʾāb עַל on ʿal הַבָּמָ֑ה the high place, bāmâ וּבָ֧א that he shall come bôʾ אֶל to ʾēl מִקְדָּשׁ֛וֹ his sanctuary miqdoš לְהִתְפַּלֵּ֖ל to pray; pālal וְלֹ֥א but he shall not lōʾ יוּכָֽל׃ prevail. yākōl

זֶ֣ה This ze הַדָּבָ֗ר the word dābār אֲשֶׁ֨ר that ʾăšer דִּבֶּ֧ר hath spoken dābar יְהוָ֛ה the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶל concerning ʾēl מוֹאָ֖ב Moab môʾāb מֵאָֽז׃ since that time. ʾāz

וְעַתָּ֗ה But now ʿattâ דִּבֶּ֣ר hath spoken, dābar יְהוָה֮ the Lord yĕhōwâ לֵאמֹר֒ saying, ʾāmar בְּשָׁלֹ֤שׁ Within three šālôš שָׁנִים֙ years, šāne כִּשְׁנֵ֣י as the years šāne שָׂכִ֔יר of an hireling, śākîr וְנִקְלָה֙ shall be contemned, qālâ כְּב֣וֹד and the glory kābôd מוֹאָ֔ב of Moab môʾāb בְּכֹ֖ל with all kōl הֶהָמ֣וֹן multitude; hāmôn הָרָ֑ב that great rab וּשְׁאָ֥ר and the remnant šĕʾār מְעַ֛ט very mĕʿaṭ מִזְעָ֖ר small mizʿār ל֥וֹא feeble. lōʾ כַבִּֽיר׃ kabbîr
