આમોસના પુત્ર યશાયાએ યહૂદામાં ઉઝિઝયા, યોથામ, આહાઝ અને હિઝિક્યા રાજાઓના અમલ દરમ્યાન સંદર્શનો જોયાં. તે સંદર્શનોમાંથી તેને સંદેશા મળ્યા. આ સંદેશાઓમાં યહોવાએ યરૂશાલેમ અને યહૂદામાં આવનાર દિવસોમાં શું બનવાનું હતું તે તેને બતાવ્યું.

2 રાજઓ 19:2
તેણે મહેલના કારભારી એલ્યાકીમને, મંત્રી શેબ્નાને તથા વડીલ યાજકોમાંના કેટલાકને જે બધાએ શણનાં વસ્ત્રો પહેર્યા હતા, તેમને આમોસના પુત્ર યશાયા પ્રબોધક પાસે સંદેશો આપવા મોકલ્યા.

તેણે હિલ્કિયા યાજકને, શાફાનને, પોતાના મદદનીશ અસાયાને, શાફાનના પુત્ર અહીકામને તથા મીખામાહના પુત્ર આખ્બોરને આજ્ઞા કરી.

બીજે દિવસે તેઓ સવારમાં વહેલા ઊઠયા અને ‘તકોઆના વગડા’ તરફ જવા નીકળી પડ્યા. તેઓ જતા હતા ત્યારે યહોશાફાટે ઊભા થઇને કહ્યું, “યહૂદા-વાસીઓ અને યરૂશાલેમના વતનીઓ, મને ધ્યાનથી સાંભળો: જો તમે તમારા દેવ યહોવા ઉપર વિશ્વાસ રાખશો, તો તમારે કોઇથી ડરવાનું રહેશે નહિ, જો તમે તેમના પ્રબોધકો ઉપર વિશ્વાસ રાખશો, તો તમારો વિજય થશે.”

અને રાજાને તેડાવ્યો; એટલે રાજાના મહત્વના અમલદારો હિલ્કિયાનો પુત્ર એલ્યાકીમ જે મહેલનો મુખ્ય કારભારી હતો, રાજયમંત્રી શેબ્ના અને આસાફનો પુત્ર યોઆહ જે નોંધણીકાર હતો એ સૌને તેમણે મળવા મોકલ્યા.

હિઝિક્યાએ કાસદો પાસેથી કાગળ લઇને વાંચ્યો કે તરત જ તેણે મંદિરમાં જઇને યહોવા સમક્ષ તેને ખુલ્લો મુક્યો.

યોએલ 1:13
હે યાજકો! શોકના વસ્ત્રો ધારણ કરીને શોક કરો. હે વેદીના સેવકો, આક્રંદ કરો. હે મારા દેવના સેવકો, શોકના વસ્ત્રોમાં આખી રાત ગાળો. તમારા દેવના ઘરમાં કોઇ ખાદ્યાર્પણ કે પેયાર્પણ નથી.

યશાયા 36:3
એટલે ઇસ્રાએલના હિલ્કિયાનો પુત્ર એલ્યાકીમ જે મહેલનો કારભારી હતો, રાજાનો મંત્રી શેબ્ના તથા આસાફનો પુત્ર જે નોંધણીકાર હતો, યોઆહ તે બધાં સાથે મળીને નગરની બહાર તેને મળવા ગયા.
