ત્યારબાદ મૂસાના નિયમશાસ્ત્રના જણાવ્યા પ્રમાણે યહોયાદાએ, યજ્ઞો અર્પણ કરવા માટે લેવીઓમાંથી યાજકોની નિમણૂંક કરી. દાઉદ રાજાના સમયમાં જે કુટુંબો સેવા આપતા હતા, તેઓને એ જ સેવાઓ સોંપી. તેઓ યહોવા માટે કામ કરતાં આનંદથી ગીતો ગાતા હતા.
