தானியேல் 2:6
சொப்பனத்தையும் அதின் அர்த்தத்தையும் தெரிவித்தீர்களேயாகில், என்னிடத்தில் வெகுமதிகளையும் பரிசுகளையும் மிகுந்த கனத்தையும் பெறுவீர்கள்; ஆகையால் சொப்பனத்தையும் அதின் அர்த்தத்தையும் எனக்குத் தெரிவியுங்கள் என்றான்.

கனவையும் அதின் அர்த்தத்தையும் சொல்வீர்களென்றால், என்னிடத்தில் வெகுமதிகளையும் பரிசுகளையும் மிகுந்த கனத்தையும் பெறுவீர்கள்; ஆகையால் கனவையும் அதின் அர்த்தத்தையும் எனக்குத் தெரிவியுங்கள் என்றான்.

ஆனால் நீங்கள் எனது கனவையும், அதன் பொருளையும் சொல்லிவிட்டால் நான் உங்களுக்கு பரிசுகளையும், அன்பளிப்புகளையும், மரியாதையும் தருவேன். எனவே என் கனவையும், அதன் பொருளையும் கூறுங்கள்” என்றான்.

ஆனால் கனவையும் அதன் உட்பொருளையும் விளக்கிக் கூறுவீர்களாகில், அன்பளிப்புகளும் பரிசுகளும் பெரு மதிப்பும் என்னிடமிருந்து பெற்றுக் கொள்வீர்கள். ஆகையால் கனவையும் அதன் உட்பொருளையும் எனக்கு விளக்கிக் கூறுங்கள்” என்று கூறினான்.⒫

அப்பொழுது பெல்ஷாத்சார் தானியேலுக்கு இரத்தாம்பரத்தையும், அவனுடைய கழுத்தில் பொற்சரப்பணியையும் தரிப்பிக்கவும், ராஜ்யத்திலே அவன் மூன்றாம் அதிகாரியாயிருப்பவன் என்று அவனைக்குறித்துப் பறைமுறையிடவும் கட்டளையிட்டான்.
