44 পিতর যখন এইসব কথা বলছিলেন, তখন যাঁরা সেখানে সেইসব কথা শুনছিল, তাদের সকলের ওপর পবিত্র আত্মা নেমে এলেন৷
45 ইহুদী সম্প্রদায় থেকে য়ে খ্রীষ্ট বিশ্বাসীরা পিতরের সঙ্গে সেখানে এসেছিলেন তাঁরা সকলে আশ্চর্য হয়ে গেলেন, কারণ অইহুদীদের ওপরও পবিত্র আত্মার দান নেমে এল৷
46 কারণ তাঁরা ওদেরকে নানা ভাষায় কথা বলতে ও ঈশ্বরের প্রশংসা করতে শুনলেন৷
47 তখন পিতর বললেন, ‘কেউ কি এই লোকদের জলে বাপ্তাইজ করতে অস্বীকার করতে পারে? আমরা য়েমন পবিত্র আত্মা পেয়েছি তারাও তো তেমনি পেয়েছে!’
44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

46 কারণ তাঁরা ওদেরকে নানা ভাষায় কথা বলতে ও ঈশ্বরের প্রশংসা করতে শুনলেন৷

47 তখন পিতর বললেন, ‘কেউ কি এই লোকদের জলে বাপ্তাইজ করতে অস্বীকার করতে পারে? আমরা য়েমন পবিত্র আত্মা পেয়েছি তারাও তো তেমনি পেয়েছে!’
Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
