அப்படியே கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்தும், தாங்கள் விட்டுவந்த ஜாதிகளுடைய முறைமையின்படியே தங்கள் தேவர்களைச் சேவித்தும் வந்தார்கள்.

அவர்கள் கர்த்தரை மதித்தார்கள். அதே சமயத்தில தமக்குச் சொந்தமான பொய்த் தெய்வங்களையும் சேவித்தார்கள். தம் சொந்த நாடுகளில் வழிபட்டு வந்த விதத்திலே தம் சொந்தத் தெய்வங்களை அங்கும் சேவித்து வந்தனர்.

הָי֣וּ hāyâ ha-YA
and served עֹֽבְדִ֔ים ʿābad ah-VAHD
after the manner כְּמִשְׁפַּט֙ mišpāṭ meesh-PAHT
of the nations הַגּוֹיִ֔ם gôy ɡoy
whom אֲשֶׁר ʾăšer uh-SHER
they carried away הִגְל֥וּ gālâ ɡa-LA
אֹתָ֖ם ʾēt ate
