தேசங்களுடைய ஜாதிகளின் தேவர்கள் தங்கள் ஜனங்களை என் கைக்குத் தப்புவிக்காதிருந்ததுபோல, எசேக்கியாவின் தேவனும் தன் ஜனங்களை என் கைக்குத் தப்புவிப்பதில்லையென்று இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை நிந்திக்கவும், அவருக்கு விரோதமாகப் பேசவும் அவன் நிருபங்களையும் எழுதினான்.

தேசங்களுடைய மக்களின் தெய்வங்கள் தங்கள் மக்களை என் கைக்குத் தப்புவிக்காதிருந்ததுபோல, எசேக்கியாவின் தேவனும் தன் மக்களை என் கைக்குத் தப்புவிப்பதில்லையென்று இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை அவமதிக்கவும், அவருக்கு விரோதமாகப் பேசவும் அவன் கடிதங்களையும் எழுதினான்.

அசீரியா அரசன் மேலும் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை நிந்தித்து கடிதங்கள் பல எழுதினான். அசீரியா அரசன் தம் கடிதத்தில் எழுதியிருந்த செய்திகள் பின் வருமாறு: “மற்ற நாடுகளில் உள்ள தெய்வங்களால் தம் ஜனங்களைக்கூட என்னிடமிருந்து காப்பாற்ற முடியவில்லை. இதைப் போலவே எசேக்கியாவின் தெய்வம் உங்களை எனது தாக்குதலிலிருந்து காப்பாற்ற முடியாது.”
