தாவீது தன் ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: அவனுக்கு வனாந்தரத்தில் இருக்கிறதையெல்லாம் வீணாகவே காப்பாற்றினேன்; அவனுக்கு உண்டானதிலெல்லாம் ஒன்றும் காணாமற்போனதில்லை; என்றாலும் நன்மைக்குப் பதிலாக அவன் எனக்குத் தீமைசெய்தான்.

தாவீது தன்னுடைய மக்களைப் பார்த்து: அவனுக்கு வனாந்திரத்தில் இருக்கிறதையெல்லாம் வீணாகவே காப்பாற்றினேன்; அவனுக்கு உண்டானதிலெல்லாம் ஒன்றும் காணாமல்போனதில்லை; என்றாலும் நன்மைக்குப் பதிலாக அவன் எனக்குத் தீமை செய்தான்.

தாவீது அபிகாயிலை சந்திக்கும் முன், “நான் இந்தப் பாலைவனத்தில் நாபாலின் சொத்துக்களைக் காப்பாற்றினேன். அவனது ஆடுகள் எதுவும் தவறிப்போகாது என நான் உறுதி செய்தேன். நான் பிரதிபலனை எதிர் பார்த்துச் செய்யவில்லை! அவனுக்கு நன்மைகளைச் செய்தேன். ஆனால் அவன் என்னிடம் தவறாக நடந்துக்கொண்டான்.
