சவுலின் ஊழியக்காரர் இந்த வார்த்தைகளைத் தாவீதின் செவிகள் கேட்கப் பேசினார்கள்; அப்பொழுது தாவீது, நான் ராஜாவுக்கு மருமகனாகிறது லேசான காரியமா? நான் எளியவனும், அற்பமாய் எண்ணப்பட்டவனுமாயிருக்கிறேன் என்றான்.

சவுலின் பணியாளர்கள் அந்த வார்த்தைகளை தாவீதின் காதுகளில் ஓதினர். அப்பொழுது தாவீது, “அரசருக்கு மருமகனாய் ஆவது உங்களுக்கு அவ்வளவு எளிதானதாய் தோன்றுகிறதா? நான் எளியவனும் தாழ்ந்தவனுமாய் உள்ளேன் அன்றோ?” என்றார்.

Savulin ooliyakkaarar intha vaarththaikalaith thaaveethin sevikal kaetkap paesinaarkal; appoluthu David, naan raajaavukku marumakanaakirathu laesaana kaariyamaa? Naan eliyavanum, arpamaay ennnappattavanumaayirukkiraேn entan.

אֶת ʾēt ate
words הַדְּבָרִ֖ים dābār da-VAHR
those הָאֵ֑לֶּה ʾēlle ay-LEH
said, וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ʾāmar ah-MAHR
And David דָּוִ֗ד dāwid da-VEED
it to you light הַֽנְקַלָּ֤ה qālal ka-LAHL
Seemeth בְעֵֽינֵיכֶם֙ ʿayin ah-YEEN
son in law, הִתְחַתֵּ֣ן ḥātan ha-TAHN
to be a king's בַּמֶּ֔לֶךְ melek meh-LEK
seeing that I וְאָֽנֹכִ֖י ʾānōkî ah-noh-HEE
man, אִֽישׁ ʾîš eesh
a poor רָ֥שׁ rûš roosh
