ஓரிணைமாட்டைப் பிடித்து, துண்டித்து, அந்த ஸ்தானாபதிகள் கையிலே கொடுத்து, இஸ்ரவேலின் நாடுகளுக்கெல்லாம் அனுப்பி: சவுலின் பின்னாலேயும், சாமுவேலின் பின்னாலேயும் புறப்படாதவன் எவனோ, அவனுடைய மாடுகளுக்கு இப்படிச் செய்யப்படும் என்று சொல்லியனுப்பினான்; அப்பொழுது கர்த்தரால் உண்டான பயங்கரம் ஜனத்தின்மேல் வந்ததினால், ஒருமனப்பட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு வந்தார்கள்.

அவன் இரண்டு எருதுகளைப் பிடித்து, துண்டித்து அந்தத் தூதுவர்களின் கையிலே கொடுத்து, இஸ்ரவேலின் நாடுகளுக்கெல்லாம் அனுப்பி: சவுல் மற்றும் சாமுவேலின் பின்செல்லாதவன் எவனோ, அவனுடைய மாடுகளுக்கு இப்படியே செய்யப்படும் என்று சொல்லியனுப்பினான்; அப்பொழுது கர்த்தரால் உண்டான பயங்கரம் மக்களின்மேல் வந்ததால், ஒருமனப்பட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு வந்தார்கள்.

அவன் இரண்டு பசுக்களைத் துண்டுத் துண்டாக வெட்டி அத்துண்டுகளைத் தூதுவர்களிடம் கொடுத்து அனுப்பினான். அவர்கள் அதனை இஸ்ரவேல் முழுவதும் எடுத்துச் செல்லுமாறு கூறினான். இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களிடம், “சவுலையும் சாமுவேலையும் பின்பற்றி வாருங்கள். யாராவது இதைக் கேட்டு கூடி வந்து உதவாவிட்டால் அவர்களின் பசுவுக்கும் இப்படியே செய்யப்படும்!” எனச் சொல்லி அனுப்பினான். கர்த்தரிடமிருந்து பெரும் பயம் ஜனங்கள் மேல் வந்தது. அவர்கள் ஒன்று கூடினார்கள்.
