1 It was now two days before the feast of the Passover and the unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes made designs how they might take him by deceit and put him to death:రెండు దినములైన పిమ్మట పస్కాపండుగ, అనగా పులియని రొట్టెలపండుగ వచ్చెను. అప్పుడు ప్రధాన యాజకులును శాస్త్రులును మాయోపాయముచేత ఆయన నేలాగు పట్టుకొని చంపుదుమా యని ఆలోచించుకొను చుండిరి గాని

2 But they said, Not while the feast is going on, for fear there may be trouble among the people.ప్రజలలో అల్లరి కలుగు నేమో అని పండుగలో వద్దని చెప్పుకొనిరి.

3 And while he was in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, seated at table, there came a woman with a bottle of perfumed oil of great price; and when the bottle was broken she put the perfume on his head.ఆయన బేతనియలో కుష్ఠరోగియైన సీమోను ఇంట భోజనమునకు కూర్చుండియున్నప్పుడు ఒక స్త్రీ మిక్కిలి విలువగల అచ్చ జటామాంసి అత్తరుబుడ్డి తీసికొని వచ్చి, ఆ అత్తరుబుడ్డి పగులగొట్టి ఆ అత్తరు ఆయన తలమీద పోసెను.

4 But some of them were angry among themselves, saying, For what purpose has this oil been wasted?అయితే కొందరు కోపపడి ఈ అత్తరు ఈలాగు నష్టపరచనేల?

5 We might have got more than three hundred pence for it, and given the money to the poor. And they said things against her among themselves.ఈ అత్తరు మున్నూరు దేనార ముల1 కంటె ఎక్కువ వెలకమ్మి, బీదలకియ్యవచ్చునని చెప్పి ఆమెనుగూర్చి సణుగుకొనిరి.

6 But Jesus said, Let her be; why are you troubling her? she has done a kind act to me.అందుకు యేసు ఇట్లనెనుఈమె జోలికిపోకుడి; ఈమెను ఎందుకు తొందరపెట్టుచున్నారు? ఈమె నాయెడల మంచి కార్యము చేసెను.

7 The poor you have ever with you, and whenever you have the desire you may do them good: but me you have not for ever.బీదలు ఎల్లప్పుడును మీతోనే యున్నారు, మీకిష్టమైనప్పుడెల్ల వారికి మేలు చేయ వచ్చును; నేను ఎల్లప్పుడును మీతో నుండను.

8 She has done what she was able: she has put oil on my body to make it ready for its last resting-place.ఈమె తన శక్తికొలదిచేసి, నా భూస్థాపన నిమిత్తము నా శరీరమును ముందుగా అభిషేకించెను.

9 And truly I say to you, Wherever the good news goes out through all the earth, what this woman has done will be talked of in memory of her.సర్వలోకములో ఎక్కడ ఈ సువార్త ప్రకటింపబడునో అక్కడ ఈమె చేసినదియు జ్ఞాపకార్థముగా ప్రశంసింపబడునని మీతో నిశ్చయముగా చెప్పుచున్నాననెను.

10 And Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve, went away to the chief priests, so that he might give him up to them.పండ్రెండుమందిలో నొకడగు ఇస్కరియోతు యూదా, ప్రధానయాజకులచేతికి ఆయనను అప్పగింప వలెనని వారియొద్దకు పోగా

11 And hearing what he said, they were glad, and gave him their word to make him a payment of money. And he took thought how he might best give him up to them.వారు విని, సంతోషించి వానికి ద్రవ్యమిత్తుమని వాగ్దానము చేసిరి గనుక వాడు ఆయనను అప్పగించుటకు తగిన సమయము కనిపెట్టు చుండెను.

12 And on the first day of unleavened bread, when the Passover lamb is put to death, his disciples said to him, Where are we to go and make ready for you to take the Passover meal?పులియని రొట్టెల పండుగలో మొదటి దినమున వారు పస్కాపశువును వధించునప్పుడు, ఆయన శిష్యులునీవు పస్కాను భుజించుటకు మేమెక్కడికి వెళ్లి సిద్ధపరచ వలెనని కోరుచున్నావని ఆయన నడుగగా,

13 And he sent two of his disciples, and said to them, Go into the town, and there will come to you a man with a vessel of water: go after him;ఆయన మీరు పట్టణములోనికి వెళ్లుడి; అక్కడ నీళ్లకుండ మోయుచున్న యొక మనుష్యుడు మీకెదురుపడును;

14 And wherever he goes in, say to the owner of the house, The Master says, Where is my guest-room, where I may take the Passover with my disciples?వాని వెంటబోయి వాడు ఎక్కడ ప్రవేశించునో ఆ యింటి యజమానుని చూచినేను నా శిష్యులతో కూడ పస్కాను భుజించుటకు నా విడిది గది యెక్కడనని బోధకుడడుగు చున్నాడని చెప్పుడి.

15 And he will take you up himself to a great room with a table and seats: there make ready for us.అతడు సామగ్రితో సిద్ధపరచబడిన గొప్ప మేడగది మీకు చూపించును; అక్కడ మనకొరకు సిద్ధపరచు డని చెప్పి తన శిష్యులలో ఇద్దరిని పంపెను.

16 And the disciples went out and came into the town, and saw that it was as he had said: and they made ready the Passover.శిష్యులు వెళ్లి పట్టణములోనికి వచ్చి ఆయన వారితో చెప్పినట్టు కనుగొని పస్కాను సిద్ధ పరచిరి.

17 And when it was evening he came with the twelve.సాయంకాలమైనప్పుడు ఆయన తన పండ్రెండుమంది శిష్యులతో కూడ వచ్చెను.

18 And while they were seated taking food, Jesus said, Truly I say to you, One of you will be false to me, one who is taking food with me.వారు కూర్చుండి భోజనము చేయుచుండగా యేసుమీలో ఒకడు, అనగా నాతో భుజించుచున్నవాడు నన్ను అప్పగించునని నిశ్చయముగా మీతో చెప్పుచున్నానని వారితో చెప్పగా

19 They were sad, and said to him one by one, Is it I?వారు దుఃఖపడినేనా అని యొకని తరువాత ఒకడు ఆయన నడుగసాగిరి.

20 And he said to them, It is one of the twelve, one who is putting his bread with me into the same plate.అందుకాయనపండ్రెండు మందిలో ఒకడే, అనగా నాతోకూడ పాత్రలో (చెయ్యి) ముంచు వాడే.

21 The Son of man goes, even as the Writings say of him: but cursed is that man through whom the Son of man is given up! It would have been well for that man if he had never been given birth.నిజముగా మనుష్యకుమారుడు ఆయననుగూర్చి వ్రాయబడినట్టు పోవుచున్నాడు; అయితే ఎవనిచేత మనుష్యకుమారుడు అప్పగింపబడుచున్నాడో, ఆ మను ష్యునికి శ్రమ; ఆ మనుష్యుడు పుట్టియుండనియెడల వానికి మేలనెను.

22 And while they were taking food, he took bread, and after blessing it, he gave the broken bread to them, and said, Take it: this is my body.వారు భోజనము చేయుచుండగా, ఆయన యొక రొట్టెను పట్టుకొని, ఆశీర్వదించి విరిచి, వారికిచ్చిమీరు తీసికొనుడి; ఇది నా శరీరమనెను.

23 And he took a cup, and when he had given praise, he gave it to them: and they all had a drink from it.పిమ్మట ఆయన గిన్నెపట్టుకొని కృతజ్ఞతాస్తుతులు చెల్లించి దాని వారి కిచ్చెను; వారందరు దానిలోనిది త్రాగిరి.

24 And he said to them, This is my blood of the testament, which is given for men.అప్పుడాయన ఇది నిబంధనవిషయమై2 అనేకుల కొరకు చిందింపబడు చున్న నా రక్తము.

25 Truly I say to you, I will take no more of the fruit of the vine till the day when I take it new in the kingdom of God.నేను దేవుని రాజ్యములో ద్రాక్షా రసము క్రొత్తదిగా త్రాగుదినమువరకు ఇకను దానిని త్రాగనని మీతో నిశ్చయముగా చెప్పుచున్నాననెను.

26 And after a song of praise to God they went out to the Mountain of Olives.అంతట వారు కీర్తన పాడి ఒలీవలకొండకు వెళ్లిరి.

27 And Jesus said to them, You will all be turned away from me: for it is in the Writings, I will put the keeper of the sheep to death, and the sheep will be put to flight.అప్పుడు యేసు వారిని చూచిమీరందరు అభ్యంతర పడెదరు; గొఱ్ఱల కాపరిని కొట్టుదును; గొఱ్ఱలు చెదరి పోవును అని వ్రాయబడియున్నది గదా.

28 But after I have come back from the dead, I will go before you into Galilee.అయితే నేను లేచిన తరువాత మీకంటె ముందుగా గలిలయ లోనికి వెళ్లెదననెను.

29 But Peter said to him, Though the others may be turned away from you, I will not.అందుకు పేతురుఅందరు అభ్యంతరపడినను నేను అభ్యంతరపడనని ఆయనతో చెప్పగా

30 And Jesus said to him, Truly, I say to you that you, today, even this night, before the cock's second cry, will say three times that you have no knowledge of me.యేసు అతని చూచినేటి రాత్రి కోడి రెండుమారులు కూయకమునుపే నీవు నన్ను ఎరుగనని ముమ్మారు చెప్పెదవని నీతో నిశ్చయముగా చెప్పుచున్నా ననెను.

31 But he said with passion, If I have to be put to death with you, I will not be false to you. And they all said the same.అతడు మరి ఖండితముగానేను నీతో కూడ చావవలసి వచ్చినను నిన్ను ఎరుగనని చెప్పనే చెప్పననెను. అట్లు వారందరుననిరి.

32 And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he said to his disciples, Be seated here while I say a prayer.వారు గెత్సేమనే అనబడిన చోటునకు వచ్చినప్పుడు, ఆయన--నేను ప్రార్థనచేసి వచ్చువరకు మీరిక్కడ కూర్చుండుడని తన శిష్యులతో చెప్పి

33 And he took with him Peter and James and John, and grief and great trouble came on him.పేతురును యాకోబును యోహానును వెంటబెట్టు కొనిపోయి, మిగుల విభ్రాంతి నొందుటకును చింతా క్రాంతుడగుటకును ఆరం భించెను

34 And he said to them, My soul is very sad, even to death: be here a little time, and keep watch.అప్పుడాయననా ప్రాణము మరణమగు నంతగా దుఃఖములో మునిగియున్నది; మీరిక్కడ ఉండి మెలకువగా నుండుడని వారితో చెప్పి

35 And he went forward a little, and falling down on the earth, made request that, if possible, the hour might go from him.కొంతదూరము సాగిపోయి నేలమీద పడి, సాధ్యమైతే ఆ గడియ తనయొద్దనుండి తొలగిపోవలెనని ప్రార్థించుచు

36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible to you; take away this cup from me: but even so let not my pleasure, but yours be done.నాయనా తండ్రీ, నీకు సమస్తము సాధ్యము; ఈ గిన్నె నాయొద్దనుండి తొలగించుము; అయినను నా యిష్ట ప్రకారము కాదు నీ చిత్తప్రకారమే కానిమ్ము అనెను.

37 And he came, and saw them sleeping, and said to Peter, Simon, are you sleeping? were you not able to keep watch one hour?మరల ఆయన వచ్చి వారు నిద్రించుచుండుట చూచిసీమోనూ, నీవు నిద్రించుచున్నావా? ఒక్క గడియ యైనను మేలుకొనియుండలేవా?

38 Keep watch with prayer, so that you may not be put to the test; the spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is feeble.మీరు శోధనలో ప్రవేశించకుండునట్లు మెలకువగానుండి ప్రార్థన చేయుడి; ఆత్మ సిద్ధమే గాని శరీరము బలహీనమని పేతురుతో చెప్పి

39 And again he went away, and said a prayer, using the same words.తిరిగి పోయి, యింతకుముందు పలికిన మాటలనే పలుకుచు ప్రార్థించెను.

40 And again he came and saw them sleeping, because their eyes were very tired; and they had nothing to say in answer.ఆయన తిరిగివచ్చి చూడగా, వారు నిద్రించుచుండిరి; ఏలయనగా వారి కన్నులు భారముగా ఉండెను, ఆయనకేమి ఉత్తరమియ్యవలెనో వారికి తోచ లేదు.

41 And he came the third time, and said to them, Go on sleeping now and take your rest: it is enough; the hour has come; see, the Son of man is given up into the hands of evil men.ఆయన మూడవ సారి వచ్చిమీరిక నిద్రపోయి అలసట తీర్చుకొనుడి. ఇక చాలును, గడియ వచ్చినది; ఇదిగో మనుష్యకుమారుడు పాపులచేతికి అప్పగింపబడు చున్నాడు;

42 Get up, let us be going; see, he who gives me up is near.లెండి వెళ్లుదము; ఇదిగో నన్ను అప్పగించు వాడు సమీపించియున్నాడని చెప్పెను.

43 And straight away, while he was still talking, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great band with swords and sticks, from the chief priests and the scribes and those in authority.వెంటనే, ఆయన ఇంకను మాటలాడుచుండగా పండ్రెండుమంది శిష్యులలో ఒకడైన ఇస్కరియోతు యూదా వచ్చెను. వానితోకూడ బహుజనులు కత్తులు గుదియలు పట్టుకొని, ప్రధానయాజకులయొద్దనుండియు శాస్త్రులయొద్దనుండియు పెద్దలయొద్దనుండియు వచ్చిరి.

44 Now he who had been false to him had given them a sign, saying, The one to whom I give a kiss, that is he; take him, and get him away safely.ఆయనను అప్పగించువాడునేనెవరిని ముద్దుపెట్టు కొందునో ఆయనే (యేసు); ఆయనను పట్టుకొని భద్రముగా కొనిపోవుడని వారికి గురుతు చెప్పియుండెను.

45 And when he had come, he went straight to him and said, Master; and gave him a kiss.వాడు వచ్చి వెంటనే ఆయనయొద్దకు పోయిబోధకుడా అని చెప్పి, ఆయనను ముద్దుపెట్టుకొనగా

46 And they put their hands on him, and took him.వారు ఆయనమీద పడి ఆయనను పట్టుకొనిరి.

47 But a certain one of those who were near took out his sword, and gave the servant of the high priest a blow, cutting off his ear.దగ్గర నిలిచి యున్నవారిలో ఒకడు కత్తిదూసి ప్రధానయాజకుని దాసుని కొట్టి వాని చెవి తెగనరికెను.

48 And Jesus said to them, Have you come out as against a thief, with swords and sticks to take me?అందుకు యేసుమీరు బందిపోటు దొంగమీదికి వచ్చినట్టు కత్తులతోను గుదియలతోను నన్ను పట్టుకొన వచ్చితిరా?

49 I was with you every day in the Temple teaching, and you did not take me; but this is done so that the Writings may come true.నేను ప్రతిదినము దేవాలయములో మీయొద్ద ఉండి బోధించు చుండగా, మీరు నన్ను పట్టుకొనలేదు, అయితే లేఖనములు నెరవేరునట్లు (ఈలాగు జరుగుచున్నదని చెప్పెను).

50 And they all went away from him in fear.అప్పుడు వారందరు ఆయనను విడిచి పారిపోయిరి.

51 And a certain young man went after him, with only a linen cloth about his body; and they put their hands on him;తన దిగంబర శరీరముమీద నారబట్ట వేసికొనియున్న యొక పడుచువాడు ఆయన వెంట వెళ్లుచుండగా, వారతనిని పట్టుకొనిరి.

52 But he got away unclothed, without the linen cloth.అతడు నారబట్ట విడిచి, దిగం బరుడై పారిపోయెను.

53 And they took Jesus away to the high priest; and there came together with him all the chief priests and those in authority and the scribes.వారు యేసును ప్రధానయాజకునియొద్దకు తీసికొని పోయిరి. ప్రధానయాజకులు పెద్దలు శాస్త్రులు అంద రును అతనితోకూడవచ్చిరి.

54 And Peter had come after him at a distance, even into the house of the high priest; and he was seated with the captains, warming himself in the light of the fire.పేతురు ప్రధానయాజకుని యింటిముంగిటివరకు దూరమునుండి ఆయన వెంటపోయి బంట్రౌతులతోకూడ కూర్చుండి, మంటయొద్ద చలి కాచు కొనుచుండెను.

55 Now the chief priests and all the Sanhedrin were looking for witness against Jesus so that they might put him to death; and they were unable to get any.ప్రధానయాజకులును మహాసభవారంద రును యేసును చంపింపవలెనని ఆయనమీద సాక్ష్యము వెదకిరిగాని, యేమియు వారికి దొరకలేదు.

56 For a number gave false witness against him and their witness was not in agreement.అనేకులు ఆయనమీద అబద్ధసాక్ష్యము పలికినను వారి సాక్ష్యములు ఒకదానికి ఒకటి సరిపడలేదు.

57 Then some got up and gave false witness against him, saying,అప్పుడు కొందరు లేచి చేతిపనియైన ఈ దేవాలయమును పడగొట్టి, మూడు దిన ములలో చేతిపనికాని మరియొక దేవాలయమును నేను కట్టుదునని వీడు చెప్పుచుండగా వింటిమని

58 He said in our hearing, I will put an end to this Temple which is made with hands, and in three days I will make another without hands.ఆయనమీద అబద్ధసాక్ష్యము చెప్పిరి

59 And even so their witness was not in agreement.గాని ఆలాగైనను వీరి సాక్ష్యమును సరిపడలేదు.

60 And the high priest got up in the middle of them, and said to Jesus, Do you say nothing in answer? what is it which these say against you?ప్రధానయాజకుడు వారి మధ్యను లేచి నిలిచిఉత్తరమేమియు చెప్పవా? వీరు నీ మీద పలుకు చున్న సాక్ష్యమేమని యేసు నడిగెను.

61 But he kept quiet and said nothing. Again the high priest questioning him said, Are you the Christ, the son of the Holy One?అయితే ఆయన ఉత్తరమేమియు చెప్పక ఊరకుండెను. తిరిగి ప్రధాన యాజకుడుపరమాత్ముని కుమారుడవైన క్రీస్తువు నీవేనా? అని ఆయన నడుగగా

62 And Jesus said, I am: and you will see the Son of man seated at the right hand of power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.యేసుఅవును నేనే; మీరు మనుష్యకుమారుడు సర్వశక్తిమంతుని కుడిపార్శ్వమున కూర్చుండుటయు, ఆకాశమేఘారూఢుడై వచ్చుటయు చూచెదరని చెప్పెను.

63 And the high priest, violently parting his robes, said, What more need have we of witnesses?ప్రధానయాజకుడు తన వస్త్ర ములు చింపుకొనిమనకు ఇక సాక్షులతో పని యేమి?

64 His words against God have come to your ears: what is your opinion? And they all said it was right for him to be put to death.ఈ దేవదూషణ మీరు విన్నారు కారా; మీకేమి తోచు చున్నదని అడుగగా వారందరుమరణమునకు పాత్రుడని ఆయనమీద నేరస్థాపనచేసిరి.

65 And some put shame on him and, covering his face, gave him blows and said to him, Now say what is to come: and the captains took him and gave him blows with their hands.కొందరు ఆయనమీద ఉమి్మవేసి ఆయన ముఖమునకు ముసుకువేసి, ఆయనను గుద్దుచుప్రవచింపుమని ఆయనతో చెప్పసాగిరి. బంట్రౌతులును ఆయనను అరచేతులతో కొట్టి పట్టుకొనిరి.

66 And while Peter was down in the open square of the building, one of the servant-girls of the high priest came;పేతురు ముంగిటి క్రిందిభాగములో ఉండగా ప్రధాన యాజకుని పనికత్తెలలో ఒకతె వచ్చి

67 And seeing Peter warming himself by the fire, she gave him a look, and said, You were with this Nazarene, even Jesus.పేతురు చలి కాచుకొనుచుండుట చూచెను; అతనిని నిదానించి చూచి నీవును నజరేయుడగు ఆ యేసుతో కూడ ఉండినవాడవు కావా? అనెను.

68 But he said, I have no knowledge of him, or of what you are saying: and he went out into the doorway; and there came the cry of a cock.అందుకతడు ఆయన ఎవడో నేనెరు గను; నీవు చెప్పినది నాకు బోధపడలేదని చెప్పి నడవ లోనికి వెళ్లెను; అంతట కోడి కూసెను.

69 And the girl saw him, and said again to those who were near, This is one of them.ఆ పనికత్తె అతనిని చూచివీడు వారిలో ఒకడని దగ్గర నిలిచియున్న వారితో మరల చెప్పసాగెను.

70 But again he said it was not so. And after a little time, again those who were near said to Peter, Truly you are one of them; for you are a Galilaean.అతడు మరలనేను కాననెను. కొంతసేపైన తరువాత దగ్గర నిలిచియున్నవారు మరల పేతురును చూచినిజముగా నీవు వారిలో ఒకడవు; నీవు గలిలయుడవు గదా అనిరి.

71 But, with curses and oaths, he said, I have no knowledge of the man about whom you are talking.అందుకతడుమీరు చెప్పుచున్న మనుష్యుని నేనెరుగనని చెప్పి, శపించుకొనుటకును ఒట్టు బెట్టుకొనుటకును మొదలు పెట్టెను.

72 And in the same minute, the cock gave a second cry. And it came to Peter's mind how Jesus had said to him, Before the cock's second cry, you will say three times that you have no knowledge of me. And at this thought he was overcome with weeping.వెంటనే రెండవమారు కోడికూసెను గనుకకోడి రెండు మారులు కూయకమునుపు నీవు నన్ను ఎరుగ నని ముమ్మారు చెప్పెదవని యేసు తనతో చెప్పిన మాట పేతురు జ్ఞాపకమునకు తెచ్చుకొని తలపోయుచు ఏడ్చెను.
