உபாகமம் 24:7
தன் சகோதரராகிய இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரில் ஒருவனைத் திருடி, அதினால் ஆதாயந்தேடி, அவனை விற்றுப்போட்ட ஒருவன் அகப்பட்டால், அந்தத் திருடன் கொலைசெய்யப்படவேண்டும்; இப்படியே தீமையை உன் நடுவிலிருந்து விலக்கக்கடவாய்.

இஸ்ரயேலின் மக்களாகிய தன் இனத்தாருள் ஒருவரைக் கடத்திக் கொண்டு போய் அவரை அடிமையாக நடத்துவதாக அல்லது விற்பதாக ஒருவன் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டால், அந்தக் கடத்தல்காரன் சாகட்டும். இவ்வாறு உன்னிடமிருந்து தீமையை அகற்று.

If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and maketh merchandise of him, or selleth him; then that thief shall die; and thou shalt put evil away from among you.

ஒருவன் ஒரு மனிதனைத் திருடி விற்றுப்போட்டாலும், இவன் அவன் வசத்திலிருக்கக் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டாலும் அவன் நிச்சயமாய்க் கொலைசெய்யப்படக்கடவன்.
