ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਸੁਸਤ ਬੰਦੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੰਮ ਨਾ ਕਰਾਓ, ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਰਕੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਜਾਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਧੂੰਆਂ ਪੈ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਂਗ, ਖਿਝਾਵੇਗਾ।

As vinegar	כַּחֹ֤מֶץ׀	ḥōmeṣ	hoh-METS
to the teeth,	לַשִּׁנַּ֗יִם	šēn	shane
and as smoke	וְכֶעָשָׁ֥ן	ʿāšān	ah-SHAHN
to the eyes,	לָעֵינָ֑יִם	ʿayin	ah-YEEN
so	כֵּ֥ן	kēn	kane
the sluggard	הֶ֝עָצֵ֗ל	ʿāṣēl	ah-TSALE
to them that send him.	לְשֹׁלְחָֽיו׃	šālaḥ	sha-LAHK
