ਮੀਕਾਹ 5

1 ਹੁਣ, ਹੇ ਤਕੜੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ, ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕਰ। ਉਹ ਹਮਲੇ ਲਈ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਘੇਰੀ ਬੈਠੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਨਿਆਂਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਛੜੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਸਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਤੇ ਠਕੋਰਣਗੇ।

2 ਮਸੀਹਾ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਨਮੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਬਾਹ, ਤੂੰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਛੋਟਾ ਨਗਰ ਹੈਂ। ਤੇਰਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਛੋਟਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਂਗਲੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਗਿਣਿਆ ਜਾ ਸੱਕਦੇ। ਪਰ “ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਹਾਕਮ” ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਨਿਕਲੇਗਾ। ਉਸਦੀਆਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਮੇਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਹਨ।

3 ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ, ਜਦ ਤੀਕ ਔਰਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਜਣੇ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਵਾਪਸ ਮੁੜਨਗੇ।

4 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਹ ਸ਼ਾਸਕ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸਣਗੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ, ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਕੋਨੇ-ਕੋਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।

5 ਸਭ ਪਾਸੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਇਮਾਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਧ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਪਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਹਾਕਮ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਸੱਤ ਆਜੜੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਠ ਆਗੂ ਚੁਨਣਗੇ।

6 ਉਹ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਸਨ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਮੋਦ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਨੰਗੀਆਂ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਪਰ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਹਾਕਮ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਵੇਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਕੇ ਸਾਡੀ ਸਲਤਨਤ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਤਾੜਣਗੇ।

7 ਪਰ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਬਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਉਂ ਖਿੱਲਰਣਗੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਭੇਜੀ ਤ੍ਰੇਲ, ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਨਾ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਉਹ ਘਾਹ ਤੇ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਮੀਂਹ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮੁਹਤਾਜ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।

8 ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਬਚੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਜੰਗਲੀ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਬੱਬਰ-ਸ਼ੇਰ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਉਹ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਜੜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੁਆਨ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜੰਗਲ ’ਚ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੇ ਨਿਡਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਜਾਨਵਰ ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਬਚਣਾ ਨਾਮੁਮਕਿਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਬਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੀ ਹੋਣਗੇ।

9 ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੜੇਂਗਾ, ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਂਗਾ।

10 ਲੋਕ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: “ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਘੋੜੇ ਖੋਹ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਰੱਥ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਕਰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ।

11 ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦੇਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਸੁੱਟਾਂਗਾ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਿਲੇ ਢਹਿ-ਢੇਰੀ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।

12 ਬਹੁਤੀ ਦੇਰ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਜਾਦੂ ਨਾ ਚੱਲੇਗਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਭਵਿੱਖਬਾਣੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ।

13 ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਯਾਦਗਾਰੀ ਥੰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਹੋਰ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ।

14 ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਅਸ਼ੇਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਥੰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ।

15 ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਾ ਸੁਣਨਗੇ ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਤੇ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਦਲਾ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ।”

1 Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.

2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

3 Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.

4 And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.

5 And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.

6 And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.

7 And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the Lord, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men.

8 And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.

9 Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off.

10 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots:

11 And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down all thy strong holds:

12 And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers:

13 Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands.

14 And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee: so will I destroy thy cities.

15 And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.
