Mark 6:26
ਤਦ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਉਦਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੌਂਹ ਖਾਕੇ ਉਸ ਕੁੜੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਮੰਗੇਗੀ, ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਉਸਦਾ ਵਾਦਾ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ।

ਯਹੂਦਾ ਨੇ ਆਤਮ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਯਹੂਦਾ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਯਹੂਦਾ ਹੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਫ਼ੜਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਵਾਪਰਦਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਉਹ ਪਛਤਾਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ 30 ਸਿੱਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਮੋੜ ਦਿੱਤੇ।

ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਬਦਲਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ, ਉਹ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਰੌਲਾ ਪਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਧੋਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਲਹੂ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਹਾਂ। ਦੋਸ਼ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਿਰ ਹੀ ਲੱਗੇਗਾ।”
