ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚਲੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕਣਾ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਖਦਾ, ‘ਹੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕੋ, ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਚਾਲ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਜਾਂ ਭੇਟਾਵਾਂ ਲਿਆਏ।
